Happy Valentine's Day

Sending you a big hug for Valentine's Day, thank you for reading my blog, I sure appreciate you.  Today, I have more treat packaging, my go to box for easy packaging.  It is called a 2,4,6,8 box because those are the score lines.  Start with a piece of cardstock 8 1/2 inches wide and adjust the other measurement to whatever height you want your box.  Here I have two different size boxes, one is a 2" high box while the other is 4".  So my card stock size for the 2 " box is 8 1/2 x 6 1/2 while the taller box is 8 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Now core on the 6 1/2" size at 2 and 4 and 6 while the larger box score at 2,6 and 8.  What I like about this box is it can be opened and closed without destroying the box.

I used the beautiful From my Heart Specialty paper with out Real Red cardstock and that fabulous White Crinkled seam binding.  The hearts are from the Heartfelt Bundle and I used some of our Silver Foil  and Glimmer Paper to mat the hearts.

Fancy Fold cards

If you have been reading my blog for awhile, you know I love Fancy Folds, they are normally easy but change a card from pretty to oh my.  This fancy fold is no exception, it is a easel card with a bit of a twist.  I used a standard card base 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2 and 2 3/4, add an additional smaller card that is 3 x 4 1/2 and for me, a heart to make it an easel.

It's Valentine's week

That's right, a whole week devoted to Valentine's , I've got cards and treats for you.  Today, it's a super easy treat pouch created from our Kraft Pillow boxes.  These fabulous little boxes are in the current catalogue 147018 10 for $8.75.  They are Kraft coloured but you can sponge them with colour if you so desire.  

For this box I just closed one end and punched two holes in the other end and closed the box with our beautiful Crinkled Seam binding, this ribbon is so soft, thin and easy to tie.  I used our new Heart punches for the hearts, and the little sentiment is from our Paper Pumpkin.

Wow, it's Friday and I made posts for an entire week again.  Yay, now how bout I say, how about the entire month of February, not weekends but all the weekdays. 

Today I have a special card that I made for a really special guy.  He is a very talented guy, he is behind  so many productions that your kids have watched and watch daily and movies that you have watched too.  He is such a down to earth  guy you would never know what he has accomplished.  We are very lucky to call him a good friend.  So for his birthday, I had to make him something special and something that was interactive and kind of animated.  The set I chose to work with was We'll Always be friends as the Walrus is like something you would see on a cartoon and then a flip card for the action part. 

Whisper White and Basic Gray with the Black & White stripe from the Golden Honey FREE DSP Sale-a-bration paper pack, and of course, the sentiment is matted onto our Silver Glimmer paper so it looks like it is surrounded by lights, pull the tab and

We have our next walrus and then open the card and we have our last walrus

This card may look complicated but it is such a easy one to make and really  packs a big WOW factor.

Heartfelt Bundle

I love punches, they make card making quick and you have less chance of mistakes when punching over die cutting.  This is what attracted me to the Heartfelt Bundle.

I love these heart punches, they are perfect by themselves or layer them and you get a beautiful scalloped framed heart. Again, I used Alicia's sketches, this time November 2019 Sketch

I used the beautiful From My Heart Specialty Designer Series papers pulling out the Real Red for my mats and ink.  

TIP:  Having problems getting solid stamps to stamp cleanly even with a perfectly inked ink pad?  Simply ink up your stamp and then huff on it (blow air on it) and it will work perfectly every time.  I used the beautiful Sale-a-bration Stone embossing folder for the background, don't you love that texture?  This folder is part of the Power of Hope bundle that is free with $ 120 purchase, you get the embossing folder and the Power of Hope stamp set.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hope you are having  a wonderful day.  This card is the one I gave to my sweetie.

 

Texture, hearts and sparkle all in one go.  Of course I had to use Hey, Love again, and the adorable ape.  This set is around till the end of May and I will be using it a lot because it is more than just Valentines.

These cute images can be used for Birthday, Thank you, just because, thinking of you and since I am one who likes to colour, it suits me perfectly.

Sweet Skunk

I haven't made too many Valentine cards using the skunk so here it is.  Again, Stitched Rectangles, I am so happy that we finally have them, patience certainly paid off.

 

And I used the beautiful All My Love DSP pack again and the sentiment from January's Paper Pumpkin kit.

Ghiradelli Treat Holder

Here is an easy one, it's a little 3 x 3 envelope made with the Envelope Punch board but do not fold over the top flap

Add some ribbon and sentiment, and the cute little otter from Hey, Love and the outside is done.  Inside pull up the

3 x 3 Whisper White insert and retrieve your treat.

Did you notice the shiny circle mat?  It is punched out of the Sale-a-bration Foil Sheets.  This pack is GORGEOUS, and you get 4  (yes FOUR) full 12 x 12 sheets of Lovely Lipstick and Grapefruit Grove.  What a deal that is!

Fancy Fold Valentine

I love making cards that are just a little different than a plain fold, and this fold is a new one for me.  I saw a card that Terri Gaines made with it so I just had to try it.  The Ape from Hey, Love makes another appearance along with a sentiment from the January Paper Pumpkin.  

The part that opens is the narrow piece that the All my Love DSP is attached to

Nice card fold but I have never been partial to top fold cards, they just don't stand up for me so I reworked the card to make it a sideway fold

Everything is the same (ok, you probably noticed I changed the embossing folder but other than that all the same but open the card

It's a side fold so the card stands beautifully.  This is a fold I will be reusing,

February

It's the shortest month of the year and it's one month closer to spring, all good things. And it's Friday, WOOHOO! Got to pop some Valentines cards into the post and this one is for my little Granddaughter.  She loves the animal cards I send to her Dad so even though she is just 2, here is one for her.

  

The ape is coloured with my Smokey Slate, Light Petal Pink  and Light Lovely Lipstick  blends and the sentiment is from January's Paper Pumpkin.  And yes, this is the same size card from early in the week, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 but cut and folded the long way.   All my Love DSP is out again, again with a 3 x 5 strip and the Stitched Rectangle dies, yes, I am loving the items in the Occasions catalogue.  And best of all, it's Sale-a-bration so every $60 order, you get a FREE Saleabration item of your choice.
