Going Camping?

Definitely not I, am a definite hotel with real bed, toilet and shower kind of girl, my camping days are long behind me. But it is camping season, so this is a perfect card to give someone who is heading out into the wilds.

I do love the set, Under the Stars, with its cute bear but what about this racoon? I stamped the racoon on Whisper White with Black Stazon ink and then using my Stamp a ma Jig, added the can of beans.  Masking the racoon, using my Stamp a ma jig again, added the sleeping bag. I then colored them all using Watercolor Crayons and my Blender pen and then sponged on Bashful Blue, Night of Navy and Not Quite Navy and for the fire, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron.

Now, when we used to camp, we would definitely take a picture of a sight like this, so I matted the image onto Basic Black and used the Spiral Border punch (119872) to make it look like a film strip (again, dating back to when I camped!).  The star is punched using a retired SU punch. 

The card itself is Crumb Cake 4 x 4 and using Versamark and Woodgrain  background stamp, I stamped both the front and the back of the card and clear embossed, so it really has a wood feel. And just like Hallmark, you must proudly tell the receiver, where this great card came from

so that is stamped, embossed with my personalized SU stamp and then masked prior to adding the woodgrain stamp to the back.  You too can get your owned personalized stamp on page 144 of the new catalogue, and you can have up to 16 characters on the name line, and since my last name is 13 letters and a space, I just got my first name.

Inside

more reminders of camping, Skeeters and So'Mores.  Guess you can figure out which one I like better!  These are stamped with Chocolate Chip ink stamped first onto scratch paper so that images are not too dark.

If it was a Sunny Sunday

What would you be doing?  It is hard to believe it is almost June, our weather is pitiful, though mind you not as bad as Calgary, they had SNOW, but I did have to break down yesterday and put the heat on, the house was 63 and just too darn cold.  Sunshine we need some!  So, let's send some vibes out there, signaling we need some sun.

Island Oasis Designer series paper and the bear from Under the Stars, transformed into a Hula dancer.  Now tranforming the bear, was not my idea, but something I saw on someone's website about a year ago.  It was perfect for this card.  The bear is wearing a Old Olive grass skirt and a couple of Pumpkin Pie Flower Assortment brads.  Ah, made you smile, sunshine must be on its way.

A Masculine Birthday

and a fun fold card.

I don't know about you, but I find it easy to make feminine cards, but masculine cards are another story.  One of the stamp sets that I have that is great to make Man cards, is Under the Stars. 

The bear is stamped with Black Stazon ink onto Very Vanilla and then colored with Earth Elements Watercolor crayons and my blender pen.  The crayons work wonderfully this way.  The Happy Birthday stamped with Old Olive and punched out using the Word Window punch and attached with dimensionals and linen thread is added to make a realistic looking sign.  The base of the card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 with 1 1/2" inches cut off the side. Open the card looks like this

A Card for a Guy

 But a special guy, our son's Birthday was yesterday and here is the card I made for him.  He has always loved this bear from Under the Stars so I had to use it.  Brushed Silver Cardstock ran through the Big Shot with the Argyle embossing folder looks kind of like checker plate.

And inside lots of room for writing.

Under the Stars

 Is another cute set from the Growning Up section.  For this card, I attached the Old Olive card stock to Very Vanilla and then put it through the Big Shot with the Movers and Shapers die.  This cut and scored the card and cut the window in the front.  And inside

 Unfortunately, the fish are from the retired set Just Beachy.
