Happy Monday,  hope that you had a wonderful weekend.  It was cold, oh my, it was feeling like spring last week until Friday when we had a freak snowstorm and now, the thermometer has plunged down to terrible temperatures.  Ok, Alberta is having it worse than us, but hey, I don't live there for a reason!!

I have today, what I think is a fun card using the Hey Birthday Chick set.  Do these chickens look like they are doing auditioning for the Rockettes?

I have used Soft Seafoam for the card base and image panel and added Basic Black to make everything pop. The sentiment is from a older Paper Pumpkin set, I tell you all the time that the Paper Pumpkin has great stamps and a majority of them are sentiments that we all need.  Now personally I don't know if chickens are actually yellow but hey, it works for me!

Saying Goodbye to 2020!

Yes, goodbye 2020!  It has certainly been a very strange year, lots of good and lots of not so good.  One of the best things that I have seen is kindness.  There is so much kindness,(at least where I live) and that certainly make me happy.  Neighbours helping each other, people helping strangers. We may not be able to travel but we can be kind.

Kindness goes a long way in the world and we need to appreciate each other.  So my last Thank you card is for all of my readers.

 

You are the Best, thank you for spending a bit of time to read my blog and comment, I certainly appreciate it.  Looking forward to 2021 and hopefully a bit of our normal (boy, we certainly are going to appreciate it instead of taking it for granted) and I will see you next week!

In Colours

Every year, Stampin' Up! introduced a set of 5 colours, called In Colours that last for two years before they retire.  This year the colours are Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight, Just Jade, Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee.  Well the first three colours I love especially Magenta Madness and Misty Moonlight.  The last two, Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee, not so much.    But hey, there is some in the Flowers for all Seasons DSP pack and in this pattern, the Cinnamon Cider is not too bad.

I added some Real Red Foil for the heart and the sentiment background to add a little pizzazz.  The messy bow is from the Braided Gold thread that is part of the Forever Greenery Trim Combo pack.  Do love that trim, unravels like a crazy thing but it certainly looks great.

Flowers for Every Season

Has some beautiful pattern and this one is no exception.  It is a very larger print so perfect for a background.  

I used Very Vanilla for the card base and the sentiment panel with a very tiny Basic Black mat.  The sentiment is from Butterfly Gala

Last few days of 2020

Hope that you had a wonderful Christmas.  We certainly had a peaceful one, it was lovely.  I certainly needed the quiet after this past week at work.  It was crazy busy but fun and I have enjoyed four days off being lazy.  

On Thursday, Christmas eve my December Paper Pumpkin arrived.  It is called Beary Comforting and it is a wonderful kit.  The stamp set is fabulous and has the cutest little (ok, it is not that little) bear, three nice sentiments, a leaf and a flower bunch.  Well since I needed some thank you cards, I decided the bear would be perfect. So this week, I have a entire week of thank you cards all using the Bear.    

Isn't he so cute?  I used some of the Trimming the Town DSP and used Seaside Spray for the banner.  I stamped Thank you from Sentiment Rose Paper Pumpkin April 2019 in Versamark and clear embossed. The bear is stamped with Memento and coloured with my Blends. I added a Red Foil heart to the bears hands.  Now, here is the same card changing out the paper for one of the patterns from Forever Greenery

Finally Friday!

Does this guy remind you of Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh?  He does me.  

Today I have stamped him and then simple fussy cut him out and then used my Pool Party blend to colour the little Whisper White edge before attaching him to my card.  I used Pool Party and my Blending Brush to add the colour.  Yes you read that right, we have Blending Brushes coming in January too!  The Thank you is form Grown with Kindness Paper Pumpkin February 2019.

Still on my bright card roll

This time Magenta Madness and Granny Apple Green are my brights.  I stamped the sunflowers onto a piece of Whisper White with my Memento so I could colour them in with my Stampin' Blends.  I added the Bronze to the centers and then filled in the background with the splatter stamp from Forever Fern.  Yes there is a bit of colouring but really they are so fast to colour.

Love that sentiment with its mix of fonts.  Add a few sequins from my favourite Artistry Sequins pack to finish off the card.

Friday

Hard to believe it is the weekend again, it's kind of nice, work two days, day off, work two days, two days off, wouldn't it be nice if every week was like that?  Today another scrappy card, I told you there were addictive.

I used So Sentimental stamp set for the sentiment stamping it with Gorgeous Grape ink and cutting it out with our layering oval framelits and layering onto a Basic Black scalloped oval.

Sunshine

Yesterday was a very strange day weatherwise, cold,rainy, windy and then glorious sunshine and heat-I am so ready for continual days of sunshine and warmth!  Today my card reminds me of summer, yellow sunshine and our lovely bees that buzz from flower to flower.  We have had our petunias outside hardening off and the bees have been enjoying them.  Tomorrow they all get planted in their  planters and the yard will have some colour.

 

This card doesn't have much colour, just Black and White with that pop of Daffodil Delight.  For such a simple card, I actually used three stamp sets, Honey Bee for the bees, sad that this set is on the retirement list, Painted Poppies, for the Daffodil Delight background and then a really old Paper Pumpkin set for the sentiment.

It's Friday!

And my last Fun fold of the week is an Easel card using one of my favorite sets, Over the Moon and boy, I am sad, it is on the retirement list :(.  You can check out the list here and here.  There are some good deals to be had on punches and a few stamp sets and framelits.   Our Blends are NOT retiring, they are just being reconfigured and they are only going to be available as sets so if you need to replace either your light or dark, now is the time to do so while you can still get them singly. 

I did use the thank you from Animal Outing, yep, it is retiring too!  I didn't lose too many sets this year thankfully, but all but one of my animal sets are retiring.  Bonanza Buddies, Honey Bee, Animal Outing, This little Piggy, Witty-cisms, Hoot Hoot Hooray, We'll Walrus be Friends and Little Elephant The good thing is we have a few new cute ones coming in the new catalogue.  

 

Again, just an extra score line makes a regular card and fun fold, just score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2" and you have a fun fold.  Told you they were easy.  Use a sentiment or embellishment as your stop to hold the fold up.
