Customizing your packaging

is super easy with our Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

 Any size package can be made by simply following the same basic instruction and using our Simply Scored tool.   Let's say we want to package something 1 x 1 1/4 x 3 First I like to add 1/4" to my width measurements, we don't want to have to force our item in the package, a little wiggle room is good. So using our sample sizes let's add the width measurements (remembering we need two of each for a four sided box)

              1 1/4 x 1 1/2 x 1 1/4 x 1 1/2 = 5 3/4 add 1/2"  to be able to attach the sides together

Now the height measurements.  Add the smaller width to the height and then add how much you want to go over the item

              3 + 1 1/4 + 1 1/2(that's how much I want to go over the item) = 5 3/4

Now cut your paper 6 x 5 3/4.  Score the 6" side at each of the measurement you added together so 

1 1/4, 2 3/4, 4, 5 1/2 and 5 3/4.  Then score the bottom 1 1/4 " add cut the tabs so your paper will look like this.

Add some DSP or stamp to add interest to the panels, sticky strip down the side and voila

You have a fun little package to perfectly hide your gift.

Again, I have used the little monster guy from Spooky Bingo Bits stamping him in Tangerine Tango and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes-one of the best stamp sets you can get for covering every occasion.  I used our Well Worn DSP-perfect for guy cards and gifts with River Rock cardstock for the box itself and Not Quite Navy taffeta ribbon secures the top.

Today is brought to you by the letter T

 Tempting Turquoise & Tangerine Tango not a combination that I would normally use but it certainly does made for a lively card!  I am casing the design from a birthday card in Stamp It magazine but putting a SU spin on it.  I am so happy we have Framelits now, they are great for not only cutting out images but making windows in your cards.

 I used the Labels Framelit to cut out a window in a piece of Whisper White then  using the Woodgrain background stamp I stamped it using Versamark and clear embossed to give it some texture.  Aren't the owls fun-I told you that Spooky Bingo Bits was not just for Halloween, that is where these little guys are from, and to me they look like they are jumping on a trampoline. I embossed them using Tangerine Tango embossing powder and then the Tangerine Tango strip has white embossing with the scrawling script from On Your Birthday (yes, I pulled it out again) Basic Rhinestones flank the sides and then this strip is attached with Sticky Strip-not all glues like to attach to the slippery embossed surfaces so better safe than sorry, use the best adhesive when you need to attach things.

Spooky Bingo Bits in November

You bet!  I said that this set could be used for more than just Halloween and I am going to prove it to you.

Now he doesn't look Spooky at all!  Stamped this little monster in Real Red and punched him out using our new 1" square punch and layering him onto a Tempting Turquoise square punched with our Postage Stamp punch and then layering it onto a Real Red Tag punch.

I don't know about you but it looks like a bright and cheerful birthday card to me-and the expression on the monster, how about, gee I might have forgot thus the sentiment, Birthday Wishes ( a little bit late!)

Witches, Pumpkins, Black Cats, oh my

Halloween is just around the corner, time to get some Halloween cards in the mail.  Here is a quick and easy one that has alot going on.  First the colours, Cajun Craze, one of the "autumny" colours that sits in my stash but paired with Basic Black, it doesn't seem quite so fallish.  

 

The kitty is from Spooky Bingo Bits, a fun Halloween set but I will definitely use it through out the year, as there are several stamps that simply changing the colours to fun ones, will take the set from Halloween to everyday use.

The paper is from Frightful Sight and I don't know, do those pumpkins look happy to you?  The cat is stamped twice onto Very Vanilla, punched out and the circles glued back to back sandwiching a piece Linen thread.  Punch a window in your card, attach the Linen thread top and bottom with Sticky strip making it free floating and if you wind it up before you pop it in an envelope, it will spin when opened, how cool is that!

and now you know where the Witch is hiding!
