Well, today's the day,

The Stampin' Up Regionals in Portland.  I am so looking forward to it and will post next week about it.  Stampin' Up Events always include a swap.  I have never been to a SU Event before so I made 36 swaps for the general swap.  I wanted to make a card that had a bit of WOW factor but be easy as I had to make quite a few. 

With this many to make, an assembly line is the best thing, I cut up all the card stock, did all the punches and then started. Here is the last twelve waiting to get started

 I used Pacific Point,  Tempting Turquoise and Marina Mist inks and did the Versamark Resist technique and the stamp set Serene Snowflakes.  And what does 36 card fronts look like done

 The sentiment came from Sincere Salutions stamped in Tempting Turquoise and punched with the Large Oval and matted onto a Tempting Turquoise Decorative Label and I used Tempting Turquoise cardstock, crimped to be the ribbon.

Can you guess

what stamp set this is?

Yes, it is Serene Snowflakes from the Holiday Mini but it isn't Christmas anymore. It now is more a geometric design. I stamped the large snowflake twice, coloring both in reverse with Crushed Curry and Bermuda Blue cutting out the Bermuda Blue one and attaching it with Dimensionals over the other one offsetting the points.  Now what can we do with other Christmas stamps?

Did you hear

SU is continueing Shimmer Paints from the Holiday Mini.  That does make me happy as they are great to work with and do make your cards and envelopes look awesome.  They are not listed in the new Occasions Mini coming out January 5th, but here are the numbers

And today's card uses Frost White Shimmer Paint on Whisper White.

What I did was take a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and using a sponge dauber, dab Frost White Shimmer Paint onto the three small snowflakes from Serene Snowflakes and stamp them randomly onto the front of the card.  (I also did this with the envelope but no matter what I could not get a good picture, but the envelope looked really cool) Then using the silver Merry & Bright rub ons from the Holiday Mini I rubbed one of the ornaments onto a 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 square of Whisper White that I matted with Non SU silver cardstock(our brushed silver would have looked better, but I am out) and attached a small Bashful Blue knot with a glue dot to the top.

Inside, I again used a rub on from Merry & Bright and stamped just one of the snowflake trio again with the Shimmer Paint.   Ok, you don't get to see a picture of it as I was just lucky to get one to post and this thing is jamming again.

The result, a simple but classy card,

The hardest card to photograph

 is this card.  The photo gods were not with me on this one, making me go insane.  I don't know if it is because I am taking the picture so late or what. I finally went to my dining room and got the best pictures, but they still aren't that great.  This card was cased from Donna at Butternut Sage Designs.Every Monday Donna has Papercuts, where she has designed a card and give the measurements.  I loved her card and decided to make one in Bashful Blue.  Mixed with the Whisper White, in person it looks really nice.  On the camera not so nice!

I modified the measurements so that it would fit into our Small Open End Envelopes but other than that I copied Donna's design. Isn't that beautiful! Ok here is a close  up so you can see a bit more

 

Inside is a pocket for popping in some money or a cheque.

Ok now that you have suffered through those terrible pictures how about some color

A miracle that lives in my living room and blooms twice a year.

 one side red one side pink.  Yes, those are Aqua Globes in it, that is how I water it because I would never remember and boy it loves it.

Serene Snowflakes, what a beautiful set that is in our Holiday Mini,  Now pair that up with Whisper White Satin Ribbon and Frost Shimmer Paint and you get a WOW. 

 Another simple Christmas card.  

Start with Night of Navy 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and score at 4 1/4.  Use a sponge dauber to apply Shimmer Paint to your stamp and stamp on the left hand side.

Scallop one edge of a 1 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Bashful Blue. Stamp Merry Christmas from Christmas Greetings onto the left side of a 1 x 5 1/2 strip of Whisper White and layer onto the Bashful Blue.  Cut a thin strip of Brushed Silver and layer over the seam of the Bashful Blue and Whisper White.  Draw on some doodle dots with your Night of Navy Marker.

Cut a slit in the fold at the top right of the card and thread a piece of Whisper White Satin Ribbon through bringing it up at the bottom and tie a knot.  Attach your Merry Christmas piece along the bottom over the ribbon and you are done.

How is that for easy!

Serene Snowflakes

is a wonderful stamp set in the Holiday Mini.  I've used it lots, with glitter and embossing, soft and sparkly, but how about BOLDLY.  This card is cased from the Queen of Brayers, Michelle Zindorf, but doesn't use a brayer at all.  It is simple embossing and sponging.  I made a circular mask and centered it over my snowflake and using Brilliant Blue ink sponged over the clear embossed snowflake.  On the background, I used the three snowflake group that came with the stamp set, stamping off once before stamping on the card.  Whisper White Satin ribbon adds the crowning touch don't you think?

The card itself is a 5 1/2" square so it will fit nicely into one of our Medium Square envelopes.
