Pushing into the zone

 We all become very comfortable working with our "favorite" colors, but then when you look at your cards, the all have the same color combinations.  My challenge to myself is work with colors you don't immediately grab for.  Todays color Handsome Hunter, I have never used this color.  I have the color from the mixed packages, but just set it nicely to the side.

Stop laughing, I didn't say you had to use alot, just use it.  And for extra brownie points, I mixed it with Soft Suede so you see, I'm using Soft Suede alot now so baby steps do work.  The clock and the sentiment are both Gold Embossed and it really does look good in real life.

Sense of Time

Have you ever laid on the grass and watched the clouds float by,enjoying just wasting time?  That was my inspiration for this card.  The set also comes from the Occasions Mini and it is called Sense of Time.  No only does it include the clock and sentiment used for this card, but also includes a gear set and another sentiment.

  For this card I used Very Vanilla as my base cut at 10 X 5 and scored at 5.  Sponged the edges with Bashful Blue ink then put on a layer of Bordering blue CS measuring 4 1/8 square.  Next a 4" square of vanilla was sponged with Bashful Blue and a part of a Scallop circle to give the impression of clouds.  The sentiment was stamped with Bordering Blue on Vanilla and layered onto Bordering Blue.  The clock was stamped with black Staz-on onto Vellum paper and used a vintage brad to attach to the cardstock.  The edges of the clock are very lightly attached with two way glue.
