Darling Donkeys

Saleabration only has 19 days left and then you won't be able to get Darling Donkeys anymore.  Today I have a slightly different card for you, I really can't remember what it is called, I think Tent topper but not really positive.  First you make a 4 1/4 square card and add your shape on top making sure that you do not go higher than 5 1/2" so your card will fit in a standard envelope.

I have used Granny Apple Green and the gorgeous Flower & Field DSP (yes, it is a Saleabration choice too).  Do you like to make different cards instead of your standard fold?

Super Sale-a-bration

Have you checked out the Sale-a-bration offerings?  Today I have two of them to show you, one is the FREE stamp set, Darling Donkeys and the other the gorgeous Field & Flower DSP pack. I have a fancy fold for you today, it's really just your regular 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 piece of DSP but scored just a little different.  Score at 1 1/4 and 5 1/2 and you get this fun fold.  

I used the Field and Flowers DSP for the front panels and then I used the Layering Circles to cut out my Donkey and the Scalloped mat.

Using your DSP

Are you still hoarding, saving hmmm, not using your Designer Series Papers?  I told you that I was becoming reformed, no longer saving it, it's too pretty to cut, I have been using it and funny thing is, now that I am using, not only am I loving it, but my card receivers are loving it too!  And the biggest reason to use your DSP, SPACE.  That's right, you get space as the piles diminish.  

Today I have a lovely simple layout, using Highland Heather and the FREE fabulous Sale-a-bration DSP, Botanical Butterfly and then a great sentiment from Incredible Like You.    Add a little punched butterfly coloured with Wink of Stella and call it done.  Got to love simple but with a pop.

So Hoppy

So Hoppy Together, a Sale-a-bration set is a great set. Do love this set and so happy how this card turned out.  I needed a guy birthday card and wanted something bright and cheerful and this I think fits the bill. I am so drawn to the bright colours lately so

  

Blueberry Bliss is a great colour for guys and it is bright.  The frog is stamped onto a Whisper White rectangle that I cut with our Stitched Rectangle framelits and coloured with my Blends and stamped the sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday in Black Memento.  The happy little frog is coloured with Pineapple Punch and Granny Apple Green  and his crown (because doesn't a birthday deserve a crown) in the retired Gold Wink of Stella.  Then layered the rectangle onto a rectangle of Gold Glimmer paper to help balance the gold crown.  The base of the card is my favourite Thick Whisper White and then I attached a strip of Blueberry Bliss DSP and a strip of Blueberry Bliss cardstock ran through the Big Shot with the Tufted Impressions folder.

And, important information for you, the Butterfly punch has been so popular it going to be non order-able as of 9AM today.  It will be available when the new Catalogue comes out but unsure if it will be able to be ordered again before that time.  The cake punch is also close to going into backorder/ non order-able status so if you want it, get it quick before you have to wait too long and miss out getting free Sale-a-bration items.

Frog Alert

Warning, this cute little guy is back for another appearance, I somehow just can't keep this set on the shelf, it keeps hopping back onto my desk!

This is a card layout I started using with the last Occasions catalogue and the Magical Day set and I rather liked it so I tried it with the frog.  What do you think?  Works good, right?

 

I used Coastal Cabana for the base and then a layer of Shimmery White cut at 3 3/4 X 5 1/2 so that the Coastal Cabana peeks out just a little.  I used my Aquapainter and Pool Party ink to make a little watercolour wash for the background and then added a punched Vellum Starburst.  The frog is stamped in Memento ink and coloured with my Granny Apple Green Blends then fussy cut (it really is an easy cut).  Want to know the trick for making your cut images look perfectly cut?  Simply run your Basic Black Marker around the edge once you have finished cutting it out to hide an little pops of white cardstock that would start out.   The sentiment is from Dragonfly Dreams and then a few retired Coastal Cabana epoxy stars finish the card.

And one last Frog

How about this cute frog to wish someone a Happy Birthday?  I love Blueberry Bushel & Granny Apple Green together and the Enamel shapes are old, a retired colour but they really work perfectly with the Granny Apple Green. I used the Sequins embossing folder for the background and then I layered on the DSP.  The DSP is one piece, thanks to our double sided papers.

I stamped the frog onto Whisper White and cut it out with our Stitched Framelits.  Did you know that we have Stitched Rectangles in the new Occasions catalogue- I am so excited, they are on their way to my house!  I layered it onto the Granny Apple Green Scalloped circle cut with the Layering Circles.

So Hoppy Together

And my favourite stamp set, has to be So Hoppy Together, those frogs are just the cutest.

Isn't he so adorable, I think it is those glasses that just make him adorable.I stamped him with my Black Memento as I was going to be using my Blends to colour him.  I used Granny Apple Green dark and light and did you notice his glasses, I used our Fine Tip Glue pen to make the glasses look like they have glass lens.  I cut him out with the Stitched Framelits Oval and layered him onto BlueBerry Bushel oval and that's Blueberry Bushel DSP in the background.  The sentiment is from Butterfly Gala and maybe you noticed the card seems a little narrow- you are right,it is.  I made a 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 card for a change, they still go in a standard size envelope but sometimes you just want something a bit different.
