Our Colour Coach

certainly can make you step out of your comfort zone.  A challenge on SUDSOL was to use the colours that the were suggested to go with Strawberry Slush.  The colours suggested, Rich Razzleberry and Sahara Sand. Now truthfully, I seem to neglect Sahara Sand so I thought, let's try it.  Well, as usual, Stampin' Up! designers are right on when they choose colour combinations.

I used the set, Road to Happiness stamping the car first in Black Stazon and then stamping it again in Strawberry Slush and cutting it out and attaching it to the top. The car is filled with gifts stamped in Rich Razzleberry,and yes, I used my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig to place them perfectly.  The DSP is Rich Razzleberry from Polka Dot Parade pack

Road to Happiness

 a fun set in the main catalogue and perfect for a wedding card.

I chose a simple colour scheme, Black and White and added some silver for a bit of pizzazz.  I started by heat embossing the car in our beautiful Silver embossing powder and yes, the wheels were silver too.  I stamped the wheels again using Black Stazon onto a scrap of Whisper White and punched them out using our 1/2" circle punch.  Now the wheels are smaller than 1/2' but I lined the punch up as much as I could so that most of the wheel was punched leaving just a little bit to cut by hand and then using Tombow Multi adhesive attached over the silver wheels.  The cans and bride and groom are stamped using Black Stazon ink with a little Silver Smooch on the cans.  Ibthen matted the image panel with Basic Black and when I tried laying it on our Brushed Silver cardstock, I really didn't like the look.  I thought, well maybe just a Whisper White panel ran through the Big Shot will be good.  I used the Lacy Brocade folder (you know I love that folder) and it looks ok but then I thought, hmmm, I have those new Spritzers from the Mini, just maybe a little Platinum Shimmer Paint and alcohol.  I was a bit heavy handed in my mix but I really wanted the silver to show and yes, it shows!  I will say it is pretty close to the same colour as our embossing powder. Layering with more Basic Black finishes it off.  Inside, very simple

Spoil yourself!

When it's your birthday, don't you think, you should?

I love this new "Road to Happiness" stamp set.  It comes with such fun images, 

Wedding, birthday, thank you, holiday, you definitely can use it.  I used it for a birthday card today,

The car, Melon Mambo embossed filled with presents and balloons. Rhinestone hubcaps add a little bling.  I used Rich Razzleberry ran through the Big Shot with the Chevron impressions folder then a strip of Basic Gray ran through the Big Shot too with the Wavy Delicate Designs folder then cut with the Large Scallop Edgelit die.The sentiment is from a retired hostess set, but ii is perfect for what I wanted the inside to say

This one is from Bring on the Cake and with a little marker editing, changed "spoil yourself today" to just "spoil yourself".
