Today is the day

The retirement list comes out.  Trust me to avoid sadness, if you want something, order it quickly because once it is sold out, it is gone.  The day the retirement list comes out always makes me think of past favorite sets that have retired and sadly do not see the ink pad very often.  One of my favorites, is a retired set, and it sees ink regularly and it is a Christmas set, Sunny Season Greetings.  Like most sets, it doesn't have to be used for the purpose for which is was designed.  Christmas yes, but what about a great summer card?

He definitely doesn't look like Santa now!  This Designer Series Paper from the Summer Mini Island Oasis, is perfect for a tropical feel.  Add some Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive, a bright Summer Sun and he really is a friendly guy at the beach!  I will post the retirement list a bit later, as soon as it gets posted.

Very Punny

Hi, my name is Elaine and I am a hoarder.  I hoard ribbons, buttons, brads, DSP, and you bet, retired stamp sets.  This set is a 2007 Sale-a-bration set and I just love the images so it has a spot in my stamp cupboard.

Fill with goodies and this scallop bag makes a great little pick me up.  The scallop bag is so easy to make using our Big Shot die and you can make it with or without sides.  For this one, I attached sides.

to hold all those little goodies in.

Sweet

 Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink make a beautiful combination.  The stamp set is Sweet Stems a set that retired last year.  Just seven days and we will find out what sets will be retiring this year, any guesses?

Retired Sets

Sometimes sets retire and you just love them and put them in the cupboard and bring them out every once in a while and use them.  I have about six sets like that.  I just love them and will not get rid of them (at least for the present time).  The set Snowy Play is one of them.  The images are just too cute and the snowmen are out of control.

 The card is another easel card.  The base is Bashful Blue and then highlighted with Night of Navy.  The Bashful Blue Scallop Circle is a Big Shot Die and then I used Watercolor Paper for the image.  Now I used the Clear Circle Die for that one but the Watercolor Paper is just not wide enough so I made a small flat part on the top and the bottom.  The image is stamped with Black Staz-on and then colored with my Aquapainter and Close to Cocoa, Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink inks.  The sentiment and snowflakes are stamped with Silver Encore to add some sparkle.  I sure hope my friend likes the images as much as I do
