Desmond Tutu

has done so much good in the world.  I love this quote from him, "Do your little bit of Good where you are. It's those little bits of good put together the Overwhelm the world."  This stamp is from Pursuit of Happiness, a fabulous set with five different quotes perfect for so many different cards where you want to send a little inspiration along to the receiver.

I also used Papillon Potpourri for the butterfly, so easy to add to a card when you use the coordinating Elegant Butterfly punch.

Summer time

summery card.  

I love the brightness that summer brings, from the sunshine that wakes me up in the morning, the beautiful blue sky, the bright flowers and the bright clothing we all wear.  This card using Tangerine Tango and Tempting Turquoise along with Whisper White has that same happy feeling.

Now Tangerine Tango is a colour that I do not use often, but I love this paper from Summer Smooches.  The image is from Serene Silhouettes and I punched it out with our 1 3/4" circle punch leaving a border all the way around.  I stamped the sentiment from Pursuit of Happiness on the Whisper White and then ran it through the Big Shot with the new Woodgrain embossing folder.  Let me warn you, this embossing folder is really beautiful but it will damage your papers as it is so deeply etched.  To stop that from happening, it is very simple, just put a piece of vellum or paper towel in the folder with your cardstock and run it through.  Don't worry, it will not damage your folder and your cardstock will have a beautiful impression.  Don't toss the paper towel or vellum, you can use it several times- I just store it inside the folder and then I never forget to use it.

Not my usual

style, but I do like it.  It has layers, which I love but normally I use alot of little layers, this card is just one big image panel with a little matting.  I started with Naturals White cardstock and Serene Silhouettes stamp set.  I wanted the card to be simple, letting the image stand out.  I love the quote from Desmond Tutu that comes in our Pursuit of Happiness set and together they do work beautifully.

 Early Expresso ink, Early Expresso  matting, simple, understated.

Happy March

Yeah, spring is just around the corner and yes, I can feel it SUNSHINE!  Living in the northwest, we seems to get alot of grayish days in the winter so the promise of spring and sunshine cerainly makes me smile.  And only ONE MONTH left of Sale-a-bration so if you want any of the fabulous FREE STUFF, you have 31 days.

Have you checked out the Designer Cuts in the Mini?  What you don't know what I am talking about?  Page 9 of the mini are these fabulous laser cut Very Vanilla cards with Blushing Bride envelopes.  You get two different designs, a heart and a border

Four of each designs.  And just what can you do with these?  How about this

Doesn't that look beautiful, intricate and hard to do?  The only "hard part" is stamping your sentiment on straight, and that can easily be accomplished with your Stamp a ma Jig.  Fellow demonstrator, Brenda Crawshaw shared this idea with our SUDSOL group and all you do is simply attach a piece of Vellum behind the laser cut image, use your Stampin' Write markers to colour the Vellum over the holes (don't worry about going outside the the lines, you won't see it).  When you are done, attach a piece of Very Vanilla slightly smaller than the size of the card to the cover the Vellum, stamp your sentiment, add mini rhinestones or pearls if you want and you are done.

 Would these not make beautiful Thank you cards, Mother's Day card, birthday cards?  You get the idea, any type of card works, looks like it was SOOO hard, but just like when we make Rice Krispie square, we never admit the truth!
