again with our fabulous punches and little snipping with our Paper Snips.
What punches did I use? Our Extra Large Oval, Large Oval, Scallop circle, Small Oval and eyes from our Owl Punch. Add the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes and our Word Window punch and Modern Label punch and a DSP egg cut with our Oval Framelits and a Crumb Cake card base and you have a fun Easter card.

Pun Fun is retiring and I for one am really going to miss this set.
Notice all the DSP, I told you I am really trying to use it up! The background DSP is from Playdate and the striped DSP is from the In Colour pack that is a Level 1 Hostess set and is Poppy Parade but it really goes well with this DSP so maybe it is the tiny Basic Black mats that make it work.

is such a fabulous set, perfect images for colouring or paper piecing. Lately since my Aquapainter has become my friend, I am loving watercolouring. I stamped this happy little whale using Black Stazon onto our watercolour paper and painted him using Night of Navy and Pacific Point inks.
A simple Night of Navy scalloped strip breaks up the dotted background, such a simple card.

I used this one last year for Christmas cards. The best part about this design, it is SO easy, but looks hard, and anyone who knows me, knows that I love that.
I am also loving the Celebrations Designer Series paper, such bright fun colors. Today I used the two tone Red print and made the focal image circular as well. The happy hippo is colored with Bashful Blue watercolor crayons and Real Red marker for the toes and bow. Sorry, Watercolor Crayons are still on backorder, hopefully we will be getting them soon. The sentiment is from a retired set but the size was perfect.

that I love the set Pun Fun especially this little lamb. Now add a fall to layout and you have one easy card!
The base is 4 x 4 Cherry Cobbler and then a piece of Very Vanilla 3 x 3 which I ran through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dot impressions folder. The lamb is stamped using Black Stazon onto Watercolor paper and then using my Aquapainter and inkpads the heart is colored in Cherry Cobbler and the parts of the lamb with Basic Grey. I punched her out using the 1 3/4" circle punch and layered onto a 2 3/8" Scallop Circle. Notice the little pink heart, you bet that is hiding a smudge. Remember, you don't make mistakes, you push your artistic abilities!

A Marina Mist Hippo, why not? And doesn't he look marvelous?
Stamped on Marina Mist cardstock and cut out and then paper pieced onto a 1 3/4" Crumb Cake circle and attached to a Basic Black 2 3/8" scallop circle. Nails and bow are colored with my Real Red marker, the balloon paper pieced. Notice the belly band, that is the new Dotted Scallop Ribbon punch, with one squeeze it cuts both sides at once, leaving this wonderful scalloped ribbon.

A place to write a special message and a pouch that holds a large tag with a gift card attached with mini glue dots.
So maybe the words they are singing aren't exactly praises for you, but they will be singing!

this color combination? Baja Breeze, Perfect Plum and Rose Red- I know I wouldn't have but they look really good together. Madeline at INKspirations4U gave this as Color Challenge and I thought I would try it, Whadda ya think?
The hippo is from Pun Fun (yes, I didn't put the set away and look what happens, you get it two days in a row!). I stamped the Hippo with Black Stazon onto Whisper White and colored the bow, balloon and toenails with my Rose Red marker. For larger areas like the hippo, I do not like using markers, so I used my Watercolor Crayons and my blender pen. I stamped the hippo twice and cut out the head and attached it with dimensionals. A super quick and easy card.

but not one that works with your mood? Today is one those days, everything I got out was wrong. So how about we make some? Grab your Big Shot and you can make some really interesting patterns. You will need Glossy cardstock and your Texture Plates (not Impression Folders) Using your brayer, roll ink onto your texture plate and make your sandwich by putting on the glossy cardstock, glossy side down, then a piece of scratch paper, your silicone pad and then Impressions pad. Run it through and this is what you get:
Voila, your newest patterned paper. I used Backgrounds 1 and the Flourish pattern and Bashful Blue ink. Now the background paper is pretty busy but I like it and funny when my card was done, the background didn't seem too busy at all!
I used alot of different elements in this card, first still using my Big Shot I used the Flower Folds die and cut the smallest flower in Pretty in Pink layering on a 1 1/4" Melon Mambo circle and then a 1" Whisper White circle stamped with a retired stamp in Wild Wasabi distressing the different layers with the. The leaves for the flower are from the set, Sweetheart and again are stamped in Wild Wasabi onto Whisper White and cut out. The little lamb from Pun Fun is stamped with Black Stazon onto Whisper White, slightly colored with Basic Grey Watercolor crayon and my Blender pen and the heart colored with Rose Red ink and my blender pen and cut out. I laid everything out onto the card, and it just wasn't right. So I wrapped a strip of Pretty in Pink Taffeta ribbon around the glossy cardstock and using Linen thread, attached a retired Bashful Blue button. Now it is a card I like.

I am a member of SUDSOL and one of the challenges over there this week was a technique called Fossil Stone technique. What a easy and fun technique it is. Here is how you do it
You’ll need:
Glossy white Cardstock, 2 pieces of acetate, 2 Classic Ink pads, Brayer (optional)
How to:
On one side of a piece of acetate, dab ink onto it moving the pad around randomly. Repeat the process with the other ink pad on the other side of the acetate. Close the 2 pieces of plastic and, move the inks together gently by “walking” your fingers over the acetate. Place two pieces of glossy CS back-to-back so that the gloss faces outward. Open acetate pieces, place the two cardstock pieces on one side of acetate and place the other piece of acetate back over to cover. Apply pressure by hand or with brayer…
And here is the card I made
I used Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise ink and when I pulled the glossy cardstock out, I knew just the stamp to use. I stamped the whale on Whisper White using Pacific Point ink and then pulled the color from the edges with my Blender pen so the whale has a very soft color. So, if you like this card, go try the technique and see what you can come up with.
