Around the World on Wednesday December

Wow, i's the last Blog Hop for 2021, where has the year gone, has it flown by for you too? This month we are focusing on Something New, Something Old. Well I have used brand new Saleabration stamp sets one called Awesome Otters, and the other is Friendly Hello that will be available January 4, 2020 and Pattern Party DSP, a DSP pack that is so easy to overlook in the main Idea book and Catalogue.

I do love my animal stamps and this set is right up there with three different otters and a birthday hat and two sentiments. The sentiment on this card is from the other Saleabration set, Friendly Hello, a set that is at the $120 level and includes the stamp set and a DSP pack. For my otter I used my Stampin' Blends and coloring him using the Crumb Cake and Soft Suede duos. A little sponging on a 2 1/2 circle with Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake makes him pop. Now that DSP pack is on page 171 of the main catalogue and actually a Hostess gift and contains 48 sheets that are 12 x 12. One side is Black and White and the other side has colourful patterns. One of the best things is it includes 4 sheets of 12 patterns so you have a lot of choices especially if you like both sides of a piece. Personally I love Black and White patterns and this pack has stripes, dots, checks, flowers.

Thankful for the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to our November Blog Hop. This month we are showcasing Thank You cards. I for one am so Thankful for the blessings that I have received in my life and the wonderful friends who surround me and feeling like that what better set to use than Joyful Life. I do love the pig so that is what I used today and how about the sentiment. I have made three different cards, all different sizes to use depending on what you want to write, for a quick note, this tiny 2 /4 x 4 card is perfect.

Then a little bigger card at 3 1/2 x 5,

and then a full sized card at 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.

It’s Blog Hop time again!

Welcome to November’s Hop. This month we are celebrating our favourite month and for me, it has to be July. I am a summer girl, sun and heat and I am one happy person. In July we are surrounded with bright colors, both in nature and our clothes. We spend time outside in the garden and at the beach. And with the dreaded "S" word being mentioned in the forecasts, I need to transport myself back to July! So to recreate the feelings of July I have used some of Stampin Up’s Brights Collection and floral images along with our Mermaids and Pirates set. Mermaids belong at the beach right?

First up, Flowers. I have used the Artistically Inked stamp set and dies with Granny apple Green, Magenta Madness and Gorgeous Grape.

And then, my Mermaid card. Here I really stepped out of my box and used Poppy Parade, I have been doing alot of colouring lately, find it so relaxing and playing with colours is fun. Notice the colours, adding Smokey Slate as a base to darken your colour and then So Saffron to lighten the colours really gives you more shades of your same colour. I know, who would of thought!

Celebrations with Stampin' Inkspiration

Welcome to our Celebration hop. There are so many reasons to celebrate and in the world today, I think that we really need to remember those special events in others lives, while we can't hold a big celebration, we can give them a beautiful card and or gift and show them that they are special and we remember their special day. Hopefully next year, we shall be able to return to celebrating in person.

I am a big fan of making super easy, quick cards that look like you worked really hard. You know just like Rice Krispie treats, super easy but don't tell anyone! I am loving the Expressions in Ink Suite. This collection is perfect for my quick and easy cards. Beautiful colours with gold-definite celebration right?

I used a Polished Pink card base and then on my Basic White layer, I stamped the images and then overlayed the beautiful large diecut. Notice that the images are not perfectly placed behind the overlay, that is fine, it gives it a more artsy look.

I added the Polished Pink sentiment strip with the gold embossed Happy Birthday and a few In Colour jewels and done.

Next I have a candy bar box, again, simple, I have made a ton on these over the years, such a great way to up the wow factor. Take a $2 chocolate bar and 20 minutes (or less) and you have a WOW gift. I used Polished Pink for the base and then piece of Expressions in Ink DSP matted with Basic Black. The sentiment is Gold heat embossed onto a piece of Vellum and cut out with the Tasteful Labels dies. Added a gold butterfly that was sitting on my desk and a couple of jewels and a bright ribbon and it is done.

Simple to make and guaranteed to make someone smile.

Around the World Blog Hop

Wow, it's September, the last quarter of 2021. Here in the Northern Hemisphere, fall is creeping in, cool mornings and evenings and sunny warm days. You have to dress in layers, as we can have a 40 degree difference between the morning and afternoon. The trees are starting to change colours and our gardens are slowly dying. But some of the fall flowers are just beautiful. And one of my favorite fall flowers is the Sunflower. Our Celebrate Sunflower set managed to carry over to the latest Catalogue which is fabulous.

I randomly stamped the flowers with our Memento ink and coloured with our Mango Melody Blends and Bronze for the centers. For my second card I used the Delicate Dahlias, a free Saleabration set. Now while they are not really a fall flower , they do bloom from July to September or October.

Stampin Inkspirations Hop for August

Did you know that the font you use can set the tone of your writing? You can write the same sentence but use different fonts and the tone of your sentence will be perceived differently. Well, I must send so many mixed messages as I love to mix fonts! I love to use a mix of printing and writing, bold, large, messy wins out over small, neat perfect letters. I wonder what an analyst would say about me!
I am so glad that Stampin’ Up has started mixing up fonts so a bit more of my personality can come out on my cards. One of my favorite sets right now is Create with Friends, you have very bold solid and messy handwritten so you can mix them or use them individually.

I love the animal stamps that Stampin' Up has come out with lately and this sheep from Counting Sheep, a FREE Saleabration sets is right up my alley and chekc out how perfect he goes with the mix of fonts. I stamped the words using Versamark and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. Using Coastal Cabana and my blending brush added some ink to make those words pop.

And when you start making these fun cards, i hard to stop at just one!

Around the World on Wednesday August Hop

Welcome to our August hop! This month our theme is Shake Things Up, do something that you haven't done before and so I thought, hmmm, how about a wobble card. I used a cute sheep from the Saleabration set, Counting Sheep as he kind of looks like he is dancing.

For the spring, I used a piece of wire and wrapped it around a pencil and attached with hot glue to two 3/4" circles and then attached to our sheep with

Simple concept, so so results! Yes, he does move and shake a bit.

Around the World Casing!

Welcome to July's Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop. This month our theme is Case the Team Member who follows you. Well Sharon follows me and I love her cards. They are clean and simple with lots of layers, hmmm just like I like to make and choosing one was a hard one but here is the one I chose.

Isn't that a super cute card. one I think I will be copying later exactly how it is, a perfect get well card. Well, I needed a card for a friend who is moving away, she is sad and happy about moving, you know how that is. Lots of promise for the future but sad to leave your here and now where everything is known to you.

For my image I used the From All of Us stamp set singling out the Ostrich because doesn't he just make you smile with his expression.

I used Balmy Blue for the card base and tag with a touch of Granny Apple Green with some retired ribbon for the bow.

Splish Splash, it's all about water

Welcome to June's Blog hop, this month it's all about water. With summer just around the corner, water and beaches are high on lots of our minds. Now I live in the resort community of Christina Lake, BC which besides being one absolutely gorgeous area in the Kootenays surrounded by mountains, we also have the warmest tree lined lake in Canada so our population swells in the summer. The beach for me is a quick 5 minute walk. I don't have any "water-lake" themed stamps but I do have Shark Frenzy and since Sharks live in water that is my stamp set I am using today to make a whimsical card.

I have used Balmy Blue, Pacific Point for my blues and added a little pop of colour with Granny Apple Green seaweed and Crushed Curry fish.

One of the best things about this card is all the bits are cut with the coordinating dies including the waves. Our Gray Granite shark is dressed to impress with a hat and tie. Well on to our next stop, let's check out what Mo has done for us,

It's the June Step it up Hop

Welcome to our June Hop where we are Steppin' It Up. We start with a basic quick card and add a little for our next card and then a bit more

for our last card.

I have used the Hey Girlfriend stamp set that was inspired by April Lopez for her Million Sales set and it is retiring at the end of June insert sad face here)

My first card is a basic quick and easy card but since I am colouring with our fabulous Stampin' Blends and they bleed through the card stock, I stamped and coloured my girl on a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of Basic White and attached it to a standard Thick Whisper White card base. The sentiment is from You are Amazing, love the bold fonts.

My second card adds just two items, a Polished Pink mat and I outlined our girlfriend image with my light Pool Party Blend so that she pops off the background.

For my last card I used the same Polished Pink mat but ran it through my Stampin'Cut & Emboss Machine with the Painted Texture folder to add texture to the mat and then attached it to the card skewed and down my image panel so more of the mat is exposed. My girl I stamped, coloured changing up the shirt to just have dots of Polished Pink and then fussy cut her and popped up on dimensionals and finished with a couple of Artistry Blooms Adhesive backed sequins.
