Happy Valentine's Day

Sending you a big hug for Valentine's Day, thank you for reading my blog, I sure appreciate you.  Today, I have more treat packaging, my go to box for easy packaging.  It is called a 2,4,6,8 box because those are the score lines.  Start with a piece of cardstock 8 1/2 inches wide and adjust the other measurement to whatever height you want your box.  Here I have two different size boxes, one is a 2" high box while the other is 4".  So my card stock size for the 2 " box is 8 1/2 x 6 1/2 while the taller box is 8 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Now core on the 6 1/2" size at 2 and 4 and 6 while the larger box score at 2,6 and 8.  What I like about this box is it can be opened and closed without destroying the box.

I used the beautiful From my Heart Specialty paper with out Real Red cardstock and that fabulous White Crinkled seam binding.  The hearts are from the Heartfelt Bundle and I used some of our Silver Foil  and Glimmer Paper to mat the hearts.

A Valentine Treat Tote

How about a different bag for a Valentine treat holder, our fabulous Tote from the All Dressed up Dies.  Real Red cardstock for the bag and then silver button and buckles and then I used our Heartfelt stamp set with the coordinating punches for the focal point.

Add some stamped tissue paper and you have a super cute little bag.

Hope that you had a wonderful weekend, we were quite mild, enjoying this little break in the weather.  And the best part about the weekend, we have now entered the Winter Solstice, so we are going to be gaining daylight everyday,  only 2 minutes more light today but times that by seven and it's 14 minutes, so in a month that's almost a hour!  This my friends, makes me happy. Ok, I have anther box for your today, it's quite a lovely size,  2 1/2 x 4 1/2 so it's perfect for so many things.  A bottle of lotion or perfume, gloves or like I have used it for, candy!

I used our Thick Whisper White cardstock so it is a very sturdy box and then the beautiful Wrapped in Plaid DSP and paired it with some retired Cherry Cobbler seam binding to hold it closed.  Our happy moose adorns the front with his matching scarf.  As I say, the packaging makes a simple gift so much more.

It's Friday

and the last weekend before Christmas.  Just finishing up a couple of little gifts to give to a few friends.  How about this nifty box

Angie Juda showed us how to make this box on her blog.  It may look complicated but it is rather easy.  I used Blueberry Bushel card stock and our beautiful Noble Peacock Speciality DSP and it really looks festive.  The little snowman from Snowman Season twinkles with Wink of Stella.

The best thing about this box is that it stays closed by itself, no fasteners or ribbon.  Like with any box  you make, I used our super strong Tear & Tape to hold the side and bottom together, Have a wonderful weekend,

It’s Monday!

Hope that you had a wonderful weekend, we had a nice one, productive and restful at the same time!  

Did spend some time in the craftroom making up some little treat packaging to hand out in the next couple weeks.  First up my usual little treats.  These are so simple to make, I used a 6 1/2 x 2 1/2 piece of Crumb Cake card stock, scoring it at 3 & 3 1/2 and punching a hole at the top for ribbon, attached little chocolate Santa’s with mini gluedots  inside and decorated.

First up the Merry Moose and a little scrap of Wrapped inPlaid DSP and a little retired Cherry Cobbler seam binding for the tie.  Guess what our beautiful Seam binding will be back in the Occasions mini, in two colours, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White, it's a little thinner and crinkley but just as beautiful.  And if you get the Whisper White, you can colour it any colour you want with your ink pads, blends, markers or ink refills.  

Next I used the Snowman Season set, using two of the snowmen and my Wink of Stella for some sparkle.

it's Friday the 13TH!

I personally love Friday the 13th, I have always have had wonderful things happen on those days. Remember a couple of weeks ago, I shared this card

I had made it after making this pouch

And I said this would be perfect to make a matching  chocolate bar wrap.  Well I did not get it done last week but managed to fit it in this week

Hmm. Milk Chocolate and Orange, my favourite flavour combination.  Funny thing it wasn't until I was editing the following picture, I realized that I didn't put a greeting on the bar wrap so it really was the same as the others but hey it coordinates perfectly.

Packaging

Ronda Wade showed us a couple weeks ago how to make a beautiful treat package.  Well, I changed the colours, papers, ribbon and stamps and made this beauty.

Again, I used the DSP to decide the colours, pulling out the Navy and added more Copper because you can never have too much shine.  Since I don't have any current Very Vanilla ribbon I pulled out my long retired Satin and used it.  Very Vanilla is not a colour I use often now and obviously ever as we haven't had Satin ribbon for years!  Again, I say, use your DSPs, I makes you use cardstock and accessories that will gather dust.   The package is actually a gusseted pouch.

Remember the Curvy Keepsake die

I loved it, still have it and used it a ton and in the Holiday Mini they have a Mini Curvy Keepsake die.  Well, I put it off for awhile but I caved and added it to my last order.  

Is it better that the old one?  That is hard to say, the positives

                                1. you use only a 5  1/2 square of paper

                                2. You just have to run it through the Big Shot once

                                3. Comes with really cute tags

                                4. You don't need any adhesive

                                5. You can fill it with just one Ferro Rocher or Lindt ball

Isn't it super cute?  Tiny but perfect!  Now I have a big and a small one, covered for any occasion.
