Others not so much,  just like today's card, 

This is our Owl Builder punch and it makes "Owls" right?  You bet it makes owls but it can definitely make "other" animals too.  How about a Penguin?

Isn't he cute?  Punch the owl body in Basic Black, the chest and eyes in Whisper White, and punch another lower part of the body in any orangey cardstock- I used Peach Parfait so that you can layer it for the feet,  cut a little nose and you are almost there.  What to use for the wings? I used our Heart ti Heart punch, the middle one and cut it in half.   The flower uses the Boho Blossoms Punch cutting two Pretty in Pink and two Pink Pirouette so we get lots of dimensions and a So Saffron brad holds it all together.  The sentiment and crown are from the Sale-a-bration set, Elementary Elegance.   

You know me I love layers so I have used Poppy Parade and Whisper White as my layers, texturizing the Whisper White by running it through the Big Shot using the Lattice embossing folder.

Crumb Cake is an excellent card base, it blends so nicely with almost any colour and is a nice weight.  A little Poppy Parade 1/2" Stitched-Poly ribbon adds a bit more colour.

He's a happy Chap

 Even though, you really can't tell if this little guy is happy, and with such big eyes, maybe he is just startled!  I love the owl punch and adding arms by using pieces off the Boho Blossoms punch just adds that little bit more.  I used the Top Note die as the background, stamping first the greeting, masking it and then stamping with the Woodgrain background stamp.  Inside

 A sentiment from Bring on the Cake (and yes, that set carried forward into the new catalogue) and a couple of images from a retired set to add a bit more woodland feel.

Stampin' Up has the best punches

Do  you have the Owl Punch

 If  you don't, warning, you are going to want to get it!  

 

I cased this card from the British Mini, it was just too cute to ignore.  Now you can just use the Owl Punch and make the standard owl or step him up by doing just a couple extra steps.  Step 1)Punch out the owl body in Early Expresso and use your paper snips to remove his feet then using a thin strip of Pumpkin Pie, punch out the feet and a tiny bit of the owl body and attach to the back of the owl, now you have perfect feet. Step 2) Use your small scalloped circle and punch out a Early Expresso circle, cut in half and attach to the back of the owl body for wings.  

What do you think of the background, recognize the stamp?  It is from Plane & Simple along with the sentiment, just love the texture it gives.

Whoo's the best

or should I say, what's the best punch Stampin' Up has right now. I will not choose, I love all punches and yes, I am only missing a couple from the catalogue, but I  love to use this Owl punch.

This simple box from Crumb Cake cardstock has been stamped with the Woodgrain stamp to resemble a tree. Now, I really don't know if Owls burrow into trees but this guy does. His home doubles as a window to see the fabulous candies inside.

I used the 1 3/4" circle punch for the hole and then the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle to edge it.  The tree branch is from another great punch, the Two Step Bird punch and the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Phrases is punched out using the new Medium Oval punch from the Holiday Mini. Yes, I will admit it, I am a Punch-a-holic!

The Holiday Mini starts today and after the last couple of sneak peeks, I only used one item from the Mini for today's card, the 2 1/2" circle punch.  And let me say, that is one fabulous punch, you really need it! For today's card I used the Big Shot with Scallop Circle #2 die, six punches and the Circle Scissor,

 but only used two stamps!  The Woodgrain background punch and a saying from Smarty Pants. 

The card base is Cajun Craze and inked up the Woodgrain background stamp with Cajun Craze ink which gives a wonderful tone on tone.  Inside

more punches including that wonderful 2 1/2" punch!

 Punches used: Owl Punch, Two Step Bird punch, 2 1/2" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Small Star Punch(sorry this one is now retired) 1 3/4" Circle Punch,

Stampin' Up Owl Punch

is fabulous.  Check out this little Thank You card made with this punch.

Isn't the owl the cutest thing?  The Owl Punch is one of the new style punches, they store flat taking up less room and are very easy to use.

For this 3 x 3 card, I first stamped the Crumb Cake base with Crumb Cake ink and the Woodgrain background stamp.  The branch is from Cheep Talk and the owl body is punched out of Chocolate Chip, the chest from Pear Pizzaz DSP, and the eyes, Crumb Cake, Whisper White and Basic Black.  And inside

From Full of Life, perfect sentiment.
