Masculine doesn't have to be dark

Let's take one colour from each collection, Old Olive from Brights, Perfect Plum from Subtles, Cajun Craze from Regals and Very Vanilla from Neutrals and end up with a masculine card that does not suffer from dark and drab.

I am really starting to like Cajun Craze, it is definitely a brighter colour than Really Rust and it really goes well with my favorite standby colour, Old Olive.  To add the color, I attached 1 inch strips to the Very Vanilla  tearing to add texture and a splash of colour to this card.

Sketch Challenge time

This week's Sketch Challenge at SUDSOL uses this sketch

 and the card I made

This card uses the Magic Pastel technique for the focal image.  This technique so easy but definitely packs a great WOW.  First, stamp your image with a light ink, dab on your pastels covering the entire image. At this point, trust me, it doesn't look that great but you will be surprised very soon.  Using your Stamp a ma Jig, stamp image again over the colored image with a dark ink.  And now, it looks wonderful.  I have matted the image with Ruby Red and used all the colors in the tree in the DSP.

One of the Most Popular Sets

that Stampin' Up sells, is Lovely as Tree. 

Well I bought it over a year ago as I loved the cards people made with it, and believe it or not, have never used it.  So tonight I pulled it out and made a card. What do you think?

This card uses a White Whisper base 6 x 6 and scored at 3.  The Only Olive is 2 3/4 x 5 1/2 and the bottom edge uses the Scallop Edge punch.  The Old Olive Taffetta ribbon is from the Holiday Mini.
