we got it! I love making cards in different sizes but when you have a long and skinny card, you have alot of space to cover.
The Congratulations stamp in Friendly Phrases is a lovely long one perfect for this shape of card. I often call little ones Monkey so of course the monkey from Kidoodles was my stamp of choice. I simply masked off the words on the Monkey stamp to get just the image and then Stamp a ma Jig required to get the new sentiment perfectly placed. Need just a Congratulations card, it is very easy to mask off the lower line and ink it up .
Extra peices of cardstock and add them to yesterday's card, and step it up
I added a payer of Lucky Limeade and then the next layer, Crumb Cake was ran through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain Impressions folder. Instead of 1" strips of DSP, 1/2" strips were used with an extra one added.
Next time you make a basic card, see how you could step it up by adding a layer or embossing.
I don't know about you but sometimes I just want to watercolour. I pulled out Kidoodles stamp set, it had been sitting on the shelf a little neglected after all the Christmas stuff I did.
The little monkey barely fits into our 1 3/4" circle punch, you lose a tiny bit off his tail and a little bit off the bananas but I thought the 2 1/2" circle just left too much space. Using my Aqua painter and Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Early Expresso, Lucky Limeade and Daffodil Delight ink pads, I quickly coloured him in. I know many of you, don't like working with the Aquapainter, too much water or not enough water. Truthfully when you finally get how this tool works, it is simply the best. Practise, Practise, Practise and you will have it performing beautifully. How I use it is first away from my paper, squeeze the barrel until you see water going into the part just below the screw part.
Great explanation right, how about the area I am pointing too with my pen, that part. Once you get water in there, don't squeeze any more. I find the water just drips out of there at a perfect pace, not too much or too little. If your brush gets too wet, use a rag or paper towel to sop up a bit.
I used our watercolour paper and Black Stazon ink, don't want that little monkey running now. The banner strips are 1 x 4 pieces of Summer Smooches DSP and then the corners of the Crumb Cake base are rounded with our Corner Rounder.
just because the name of the set is Kidoodles doesn't mean it is just for kids! This fun birthday card would work for a child or adult. I used all current In Colours cardstock, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade to create this bright palette. The cupcakes are coloured in Regal Rose and Soft Suede and the Happy Birthday from On Your BIrthday is stamped in Concord Crush, On the 1 x 1 squares down the left side I stamped the present from Every Little Bit in the same colour ink as the paper.
Isn't the Rich Razzleberry medallion beautiful? I participated in the Designer Challenge over at SUDSOL this week and this was the challenge, use this medallion on your card. So easy to make with your Decorative Label punch, and the trick is to punch out your DSP layer it onto your cardstock making it look like the medallion is made from cardstock. Simply punch the DSP top and bottom, turn and punch again top and bottom.
to make a frame is so easy but looks like a million bucks!
This is one of the cards we are doing today at our workshop, using Pool Party and Island Indigo, two wonderful new In Colours
Our border punches do make fabulous straight borders but you can also use them to make wonderful frames for your images. I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch to frame the image and then added Basic Pearls to the corners. The background is stamped with the new background stamp, Netting in Pool Party to add some dimension to the background. The image is from Kidoodles, stamped on Whisper White with Black Stazon and coloured in with markers and ink pads.
Medallions as super easy to make and add so much to a item. For this one I used two 2 X 12 pieces of Daffodil Delight DSP, scored at 1/2" intervals. Attach pieces together with Sticky Strip and attach to a circle of cardstock. The image is from Kidoodles, and is watercoloured.
using this set, Kidoodles, such cute images and it is not just for kids. Check out this birthday octopus,
yes, it would be a cute image for a kids card, but it is also perfect for adults too. This layout comes from the latest issue of Stamp It!, just had to try it with our great products. I used Naturals White card stock for the base, the image is stamped on Watercolour paper (have you checked out the new size we have for the watercolour paper now-6" x 9" perfect for the letterpress plates) and colored with my Aquapainter and ink pads, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder and then corners rounded and matted onto Wisteria Wonder. The 5/8' Old Olive ribbon anchors the image and a big Old Olive button with a bit of Pumpkin Pie 1/8" Taffeta ribbon finishes it off.
never, you got to start sometime right? This is another of the Kidoodles images, a cute little elf
Yes, it is the same layout as yesterday's card, but this time I used the other embossing folder from Designer frames, this one is a framed rectangle. Quick and easy, just perfect.
not to my 4 year old niece, who would like to be a spider cause they have so many arms they can get a lot done quickly. Now, goodness knows what a 4 year old needs to get done quickly but that is her thought. When I get "letter" from her, they always include spider drawings so what better to send back, a spider stamped card.
The image is from Kidoodles, such a fun set and with some selective inking it no longer says Happy Halloween. And what about the "frame" that surrounds the image, that is one of the new embossing folders called Designer Frames
You get two embossing folders, this oval shaped frame and a rectangular frame for $10.95. This oval frame coordinates with the extra large oval punch making it quick and easy to add lots of pizzazz to your cards.
