What do you do with the cards you make?

I often get asked this question, and yes, I have quite a few sitting around, but I try to mail most of them.  I mean, who doesn't like to get a card in the mail? (just let me know if you don't, and I will cross you off my list!!)

Today's card is one I got in the mail from fellow SU demo, Carri McMullen.  She used the stamp set, Just Believe and the current In Colours, Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder and Island Indigo with Soft Suede for the sentiment.

Emboss Resist

A simple but stunning technique.  Simply stamp your image with Versamark and emboss, then use a dauber or sponge to add ink to the background.  I used the flowers from Just Believe and embossed with Black Embossing powder and then used Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and a little So Saffron for my inks.

 Isn't this a fun layout?  Linda Heller, shared this at convention but was so nice as to put it on Stampin' Connection for people like me who didn't go to convention.  I am going next year, I have booked my hotel and I am going no matter what!  I have used Beau Chateau DSP and then the image is from Just Believe stamped in Crumb Cake and punched out using our 1 3/4" circle punch.  I used a couple of our Basic Pearls to highlight the flower centers and then layered it onto a Crumb Cake 2" circle cut with our Circles #2 die and then the Pink Pirouette 2 3/8" Scallop Circle.  The sentiment is from Perfect Words.

Summer Softness

 

  The soft Designer Series paper is from Domestic Goddess pack.  I used the large flower image from Just Believe inking it up with my markers, Old Olive and Baja Breeze and using our Basic Pearls to highlight the flower centers.  The sentiment is from Occasions Alphabet and inside

 the rest of the sentiment.

Just Believe

 Have you checked out the small background stamps on Page 140 of the Idea Book and Catalogue?  Confetti is one of them and it has six different backgrounds, leaves, hearts, letters, snowflakes, circles and flowers.  I used the leaves on this card reminding me of the leaves that are falling and swirling.  The focal image, a sentiment from Just Believe is stamped on Whisper White in Garden Green with second generation leaves stamped in Pear Pizzazz. I then punched it out using the new 2 1/2" circle punch and layered onto a More Mustard 2 1/2" circle punch cut in half framing the ends but not the sides of the circle.

Red, Black and White

do make a dramatic card.

This card is a mix of new and retired items.  The stamp set, Just Believe, is a new set and I just love the look of this image when you apply your markers directly to the stamp.  It looks very much like watercoloring,  I imagine if you could actually paint it would turn out like this.  The DSP is retired, Day and Night, but is it really retired? Did you know that you can get this DSP as a download for your My Digital Studio so you will always be able to use it even print it on your printer.  The tiny bow is made with a definitely retired ribbon, Black Gingham ribbon that retired with the last catalogue and since I don't have the new 1/8" Taffeta ribbon yet, I just had to use this one.
