My favourite fairy

from the New Wonder set is this one.  The set comes with lots of sentiments each in a font that looks like  someone could lave written them, not me of course, as my penmanship isn't really the best but this little fairy's certainly is!

The DSP is from the Magnolia Lane pack and then I ran some Whisper White through my Big Shot and the Nested Labels die to use as the focal point attaching it to one side rather than the center and chopping it flush with the side of the Whisper White Notecard. I used our new Rococo Rose Blends for her dress., I think I am going to love this new In Colour, it is certainly pretty.  The pen is Mossy Meadow, Hair Daffodil Delight, Petal Pink for the face, hands and feet and then a little Wink of Stella for the wings.  A few Epoxy dots finish off the card.

Thinking of You

Well, we woke up to 6" of snow yesterday morning, sure did look pretty and the good thing, it was warmer so that is so much nicer.  Maybe my making bright, cheery summer feeling cards helped nudge the weather!

 Today another card using the Hostess set, Just Because.  Isn't it a lovely image?  Again, I love the large image filling the front of the card.  I used our fabulous Stitched Rectangles not only for the Whisper White rectangle that I stamped the image on, but also for the DSP layer.  Cajun Craze is a blend that I certainly don't use often but it is just perfect for the clay pot. And Granny Apple Green is one of my favourite set of blends, I use that green for everything.  I love the brightness of it.

Missing summer?

Brrr, it was certainly cold yesterday and we got snow but thankfully not the amount that was predicted so that is good.  We have really been lucky thins year with the weather, quite mild.  But I am in need of some warmth and colour so that was my inspiration for this card.  One good thing about a snow day, I got to play in the craft room in the morning.

 

What do you think, does it say summer?

The stamp set is Just Because, hostess set in the Occasions catalogue .  I liked the images but I was really surprised at the size of the images, they are so perfect, Hostess Sets are sets that you can only get if your order is $200 and then you can buy them with your Hostess dollars.  And it doesn't have to be just you who orders, grab orders from your friends, we put them all in and bam-you are now a hostess and get free stuff.  And Sale-a-bration on top of that, everyone is getting free stuff!

The set includesthree different vases with plants in them, some with sentiments attached and then there are two other sentiments. This stamp really says Happy Mother's Day but with a little bit of Scotch Tape, the sentiment was omitted and then this sentiment from Butterfly Gala added.  I used the Stitched Rectangles again, and of course my Blends for colouring.  The background is a piece of the Botanical Butterfly Sale-a-bration freebie.  I made the card a tad bit skinnier that usual really highlighting the flower pot , but it will be mailed in a standard envelope.  And gee, I think this is the best job I have done with colouring, the pot actually looks rounded- patience and practice my Dad used to say.  Today would of been his 92 birthday, certainly miss the man.  Have a great day and enjoy the moments.

Hostess Sets

Hostess sets are special sets that are only available to Hostesses or if you place an independant order of $200.  One of this years sets, Simply Sketched certainly has been a favorite, not only of mine judging by the fact it went on backorder soon after the launch of the new catalogue.

Three images, three sentiments. 

And since I have difficulty growing flowers, I seem to be drawn to flower stamps!

I silver embossed the sentiment  and then stamped the flower in Black Stazon and then coloured it with my blender pen and Pink Pirouette and then used my  Blushing Bride marker to add some depth.  Now I know these colours don't really go well together,they are a both very pale, but I think they make perfect shading on the flower.  I then used our Ovals framelits to cut out the image and using the one size up and Brushed Silver cardstock for the mat.  The DSP is from our new retired Subtles DSP stack, trying to finish them up so I won't feel guilty about ordering new stuff!

Happy 4th of July, hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy a bit of family fun!

Todays card is super simple, funny how these super simple cards look so good.  I have cased this from Stampin' Connection changing up the size, colours and sentiments.

I started with one of our Notecards, I love these, they come 20 Whisper White cards and envelopes to a pack, they are a bit smaller than a standard card, 3 1/2 x5 but are perfect for mailing, just regular postage.  I then cut a 2" square of DSP (ok I really cut down a scrap:D) and glued it to the card.  The sentiment is from Express Yourself, a exclusive Hostess set.  The set has 12 different sentiments all in this lovely font and is stamped with Black Stazon.  I used some Calypso Coral cardstock and punched out the star from the punch pack, (it's not in the catalogue but on the carryover Christmas list and then used our 1" square punch to punch out the squre.  I then layered with it dimensionals onto a Whisper White square punched out using our Postage Stamp punch.  Add a simple bakers twine bow with a glue dot and it's done.  How easy is that!

Finishing off Pink Week

Have you grabbed your

Greeting?  Just one week left of Stampin' Up's Grab your Greeting promotion and all three of the sets on sale are fabulous but I do think, Petite Pairs is my favorite.

Petite Pairs is just like the name, small greetings that come in pairs, one for the outside and one for the inside of your card.  I used our new Hostess Set, Simply Sketched for this card, stamping the flower in Stazon and colouring in with my Blush Blossom, Pink Pirouette and Pear Pizzazz markers.  I love using our lighter colours for colouring directly onto paper, for deeper colours, I will use my blender pen. And just what would go inside with this greeting?

And after the Christmas cards,

the next set of cards I make are Thank you cards,  always need to send out a few.Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy are beautiful together.  This is a very simple card design, 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 card base with a 1 3/4 x 5 1/2 strip of Patio Party DSP.  I thought the tiny hearts were perfect for a thank you card.  The sentiment is from Wacky Wishes, a current Hostess set while the floral image is from one of my favorite sets, Serene Silhouettes.

Need a quick Hostess gift?

A bottle of wine is a lovely gift for a hostess and takes just a few minutes to dress it up.

For this bottle I cut a piece of Real Red 3 1/2 x 9, scored at 3 and used my 1 1/4" circle punch to punch the hole for the neck.  A 3 1/4 x 5 3/4 piece of Whisper White is ran through the Big Shot with the Lacy Brocade Impressions folder before attaching it to the tag base.  To ink up the Santa stamp from Christmas Wishes Hostess set I used my REal Red and Basic Black markers.  Remember to ink up the Real Red area first so you don't damage the tip with any Black ink.  Carefully colour in his face with Blush Blossom marker (the black ink will bleed if you go too close) and add a little red to his mouth.  Cut out and attach with dimensionals.  If the neck of the bottle doesn't go with your hanger, no worries, make a little sleeve with cardstock using Sticky Strip to ensure it won't come apart.  A matching bow finishes off your gift.  How easy is that!

Wrapping up those gifts

With Stampin' Up, it couldn't be easier to wrap those Christmas Presents.  I made easy gift bags with our fabrics that I got off our Clearance Rack and a bit of retired ribbon for the drawstrings.  The tags, well with this Hostess set from the Holiday Mini, Christmas Wishes, a little ink and some cardstock you get some really cute tags

Even the Christmas Tree stamp would make a beautiful tag for a neighbour gift.  I used the other two stamps for my family gift tags

Simply stamped in Real Red onto Whisper White and then attached to a piece of Real Red cardstock, write on the back of the tag.

This one again I stamped the image onto Whisper White with Real Red but I cut the image out and then put it onto the Whisper White matted with Baja Breeze, again writing on the back of the Baja Breeze.  And the last tag

A simple folded tag, Whisper White, Santa stamped in Real Red with the eyes and nose in Basic Black.

One Layer

if I can do it, so can you!  These are simple cards but man, they are so hard for me to make. One layer, one piece of cardstock folded, images stamped on it, just like a store bought card.  I mean, layers are just like make up to me, can't leave home without my eye shadow!!  So I challenged myself, one layer, quick and easy.

Ok I had to make it look like there were layers. a simple Pool Party square sponged around my image, the little boot from Happy You hostess set.  Now with such a small image I thought go big on the sentiment, so the Hello is from Lacey & Lovely.

Simple, one layer and gee, I think I like it!
