Time to get those

Valentine's cards in the mail.  

Greeting card Kids is a perfect stamp set for Valentine's Day.  The cardstock Real Red and then the DSP is from Summer Smooches.  One thing you have to love about Stampin' Up! is there colour coordination, perfect matches every time.  I used the Lacy Brocade embossing folder on the background Whisper White and heat & Stick Powder on the heart with Dazzling Diamonds for some sparkle.

Colouring is easy with our Watercolour Crayons and Blender pen, this a wonderful way to colour your images on Whisper White, just make sure that you stamp your images with Black Stazon so there is no bleeding.

Remember when?

Happy Valentine's Day

And of course, I will use my favorite set for today's post, Greeting Card Kids.

 I needed this gift not to be too "girly" so I used Crumb Cake for the Gable Box and a strip of Early Expresso to ground the image.  And they do say, good things come in small packages right,

 Ghirardelli chocolates!  The tag again was made with My Digital Studio,

Letterpress Plates

I just love this card from my Sweet Valentine's card class.  Since I love Greeting Card Kids, you knew I just had to use it for that class. And then, to push it over the top, I used the Letterpress Plate, Lots of Love.

 Now I will admit, I really waited to get the letterpress plates as people were having issues with them.  My Big Shot is a very tight one and I thought I would wait and see what others came up with before purchasing any plates.  The easiest and most successful use of the plates, is to use Versamark as your ink. 

 Now with my Big Shot, I use the platform Tab 1, the Letterpress Plate, cardstock, a piece of photocopy paper (to keep the Versamark off my cutting pad) and a cutting pad and I get a clear image with a good impression. 

The sentiment is from A Happy Heart, my favorite Valentine stamp set that retired and I stamped it in Early Expresso, cut it out and layered onto the Large Tab punched in Early  Expresso.  A Rose Red Glimmer brad from the Glimmer Subtles brad holds a Early Expresso 1/8" Taffetta bow finishing off the card,

I know you are wondering

What is going to happen to  the Greeting Card Kids stamp set when Christmas is over?  Not far , I am afraid, and I knew you would be sad when Christmas was over and I would not use it anymore, well, how about the Valentine's girl? 

 I think she is just as cute.  This card used the gorgeous paper from last years mini, Sending Love Speciality Paper, but it is on the clearance rack right now.  This type of card is another Fancy Fold that is so easy, called Double Pocket Card and uses a piece of DSP 8 1/2 x 11.  I attached my folded card to a regular card base but you definitely don't have to.

 Notice the two pouches for tags, you can attach giftcards or write special messages

The heart behind the little girl, I made in My Digital Studio, I used the Full Heart punch and adjusted it to the size I wanted, printed it out onto Pretty In Pink Cardstock and sponged the edges.  The little hearts on the tags as from the Small Heart punch (117193)

She's Back

I gave her a few days off, but she was so sad so had to pull her out again. Who am I talking about, the cute little girl from Greeting Card Kids of course.  Again, I used a Z fold card but this time with a little extra flair

 Start with a angled piece of cardstck and then score for a totally different look.

 I used Jolly Holiday DSP for this card and again, the snowflakes from Northern Frost Decorative Strip die.

 I promised tomorrow, I will post a different set.  I am so please with how this card worked out, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Always Artichoke seem to be my color palette lately.

 Again, I colored the image with my blender pen and inks and then created a tag like shape from the Very Vanilla and matted with Always Artichole.  Always Artichoke seam binding (good news, it is staying and they had added four more colors, Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz and Rose Red)  I used a Vintage Brad to hold the ribbon into a loose layered bow.  The snowflakes are from Northern Frost, decorative strip for the Big shot.  I painted the snowflakes with Champagne Shimmer Paint and they really add to the vintage feel.  The Cherry Cobbler is ran through the Big Shot using Backgrounds 1 texture plate

Fancy Fold for Christmas

It is funny how, I was told " you should get that set" when the Catalogue first came out in July and I thought, it's just not me.  I guess I have changed, cause I love this set, sorry, you will be seeing quite a bit of it!

Today's card is a "Z" fold card, it is a easy card to make but does have lots of layers, which you know, I love my layers.

 Now you can see why it is called a "Z" card, use your standard 4 1/4 x 11 cardstock base and score at 2 3/4  and 5 1/2.  When it is closed it looks like this

 Well, I figured if I was cutting layers, might as well cut two cards.  I used Deck the Halls DSP(120810)for the Cherry Cobbler layer and the sheet music is from Newsprint (117166).  The base is Always Artichoke and I sponged all the Very Vanilla pieces with Crumb Cake ink to soften them.  The little girl is colored with my blender pen and Cherry Cobbler, Riding Hood Red, Soft Suede and Alway Artichoke inks.  For her "fur" on the jacket and hat I used Champagne Shimmer Paint and try as much as I want, the picture does not capture the beauty in it.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and I just handcut  it into a banner shape.

 
Inside stamped with Always Artichoke the sentiment is from the Level Three Hostess set, Occasional Quotes and the holly is cut from the other side of the Cherry Cobbler DSP.

Greeting Card Kids

has four great images that bring back memories of the Campbell Soup kids.

 Today's card is a fuss free one using the Christmas image stamped in Basic Stazon onto Whisper White.

 
 
 The image is colored with Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Real Red, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip using my blender pen to move the color.  I then mounted the image onto a piece of Crumb Cake leaving a very small border.  Then using the Photocorners punch and Brushed Gold cardstock I punched the small corner twice and attached with dimensionals.  The greeting from Christmas Greetings was just the right font for the card

 

 

 The greeting is embossed with Gold Embossing powder and the envelope has two gold embossed ornaments from Jolly Bingo Bits and those ornaments are carried through to the inside of the card

 The verse is also from Christmas Greetings set and is stamped in Black Stazon. 

If  you haven't started  your Christmas cards yet, better get going, 23 days till Christmas and you still have to get them in the mail!!
