He's back

The cute puppy that is!  Did you know that in the Playful Pets paper pack there are 16 of each dog that you can cut out the complete image.  So there are  5 dog images X 16 so that is 80 dogs that you can make cards with from just two sheets of paper. And we  haven't even talked about the other dog sheets nor the cat sheets.  Yes this paper pack is loaded for cards!

A love Basic Black and Real Red together and this layout is a well used one on my blog.  A simple strip placed in the middle or the side and images and sentiments, and you are done.  Change your square to a circle or an oval or a punched shape, add sentiments in any shape.  This is one fabulous layout.

Healing Hugs

Sending bright colourful Get Well wishes should help to make someone feel better, right? I cased this beautiful card off of Stampin' Up changing up the colours.  The original card was done in Coastal Cabana and I used Melon Mambo and Flirty Flamingo.

I also using the Masking technique  and cut out the Melon Mambo flower and attached it.  I really love this layout, be prepared I will use it again!

Sahara Sand

Is a  beautiful neutral, when you forget to order Crumb Cake card stock!  Sometimes, Whisper White is too bright, Very Vanilla to dull so Sahara Sand to the rescue.  I love Sahara Sand with Basic Black and Night of Navy but hey, I am loving it with Grapefruit Grove and Granny Apple Green.  Again I used To a Wild Rose for the flower and Healing Hugs for the sentiment and then I added Buffalo Check as I didn't have any DSP that I liked with the Grapefruit Grove.  The Grapefruit Grove DSP was just too bright and made the card feel off.

 

A few Grapefruit Grove dots and a tiny Grapefruit Grove strip add enough colour I think.

Note cards

Make card making quick and easy and they are very inexpensive  Dress them up with DSP, card stock or just stamp right on the card itself- there is no right or wrong way to use them.  This card uses two stamp sets, Healing Hugs for the sentiment and To a Wild Rose for the beautiful flower and leaves.  I am a lover of Floral sets, they set reminds me a lot of a retired set, Garden in Bloom.  Totally a different flower, but it is a step stamp, you can use one, two or three steps to make your image.

With a set like this, the first thing I do is stamp the main image, in this case the outline image on a Sticky Note and cut it out.  This mask lives in the stamp case with the stamps, ready for action.  Check out the card

See how the leaves look like they are behind the flower, that is thanks to masking.  Stamp your flower, I did the fuller flower, stamped off once and then the outline image full strenght.  Mask the flower (cover it with the sticky note and stamp the leaves .  Remove the mask and voila, The leaves are behind the flower.

Halfway through the month!

Are you feeling that July is flying by?  July is one of my favourite months, normally beautiful weather, sunshine and heat-my favourite combination.  This year, we have had nice weather, some heat, then it cools down and rains then back to heat.  I am definitely not complaining, everything is still green and we have no fires.That is a definite win.  

After the weekend apart, my computer and camera are back communicating and playing nice, so we have a card to show you!  Remember a couple weeks ago, I showed up you some Sympathy cards I made for the women's guild, well this week I am going to show you some Get Well cards that I have made for them.  The first card, I think is my favourite.  I love the fancy fold that I cased from Annette at Lavender Thoughts and then I used Back on Your Feet stamp set from the new Catalogue.  Just check out these images

I don't know if you have figured out that I love whimsical images, the cows from Over the Moon, Animal Outing, New Wonders, and remember Hey Love and Postcard Pals.  Something about this type of images just makes me happy.  So here is the card

I used Crumb Cake and Basic Black and a little scrap of retired DSP The sloth is coloured with my Blends, (I know, you are surprised right?)  I needed a little something for the upper corner, and found these little + symbols in Picture Perfect Birthday and thought they were perfect.  Inside

I think I am going to use this fold quite a bit, it is a lovely fold and I think I will be using it at my upcoming card class, what do you think, Over the Moon and this fold-perfect.  Well that's all for today. Have a wonderful Monday
