More retiring DSP from the Just add Cake pack and truthfully the sentiment is wrong on this card- it should say Good bye as this little turtle from Fox and Friends, is retiring! I punched him out with our 1 3/4" circle punch and then used my retiring Circle Scissor Plus to make the Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade matting.

who do we appreciate? The person who designed this box! A super simple, you can't go wrong box. Use a piece of paper 8 1/2" wide and whatever height you want your box to be. Score on the 8 1/2" side at 2,4,6 and 8 then score at 2" on the height side. Fold and burnish all your score marks and then cut on the 2,4,6 & 8 scores up to the 2" score, cut off the 1/2" part at the 2" mark. Fold into your box shape and use Sticky Strip on the 1/2" tab to close the side and Sticky Strip on one of the bottom tabs to hold it shut. You are done except for the decorating, how easy is that!
I used Peach Parfait for my box and the the cute little Monkey from Fox & Friends stamped in Chocolate Chip onto Whisper White. Using my 1 3/7" punch punched out the monkeys and attach to the box. The tag is punched using the Decorative Label punch and attached with Linen Thread to a Chocolate Chip satin ribbon box.

something totally different, I put her away and look who came out instead! Fox & Friends, with our friend the Monkey.
I remember watching Mythbusters one day (ok my guys were watching it and you just have to see this was said to me) about the myth that balloons could carry a child away. Apparently it is true only if you use an enormous number of balloons I forget the number but it was more than you would buy from a balloon vendor. Anyway, on to to card, the cheerful monkey is carried away by the balloons from Party Hearty. I stamped him in Real Red only Whisper White and then used my pastels to colour/shade in the background to look like the sky. The banner is also from Party Hearty and I cut it freehand to give it movement.
The balloons are attached with dimensionals to give layering and Linen thread is attached to the back of each and then another piece is used to tie them all together and a mini glue dot hold it to the monkey's hand.

the other day, I made this card
well, I used the layout again and using bright colors and no Designer Series paper just cardstock and stamping
Four different stamp sets, Fox & Friends, and who says you can't have red monkeys, Party this Way for the balloons and On Your Birthday for the sentiment and then notice the leaves on the Old Olive, a great set, Confetti. Whether it is just the difference in the colors I don't know, but I do like this card.

of Old Olive as a Bright color, it was a Earth color so when the Color Renovation came about, it was is hard for me to think of it that way. Well, today's card, will change that feeling, it is a BRIGHT!
Especially when you mix it with other members of the Bright Collection. Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive go really lovely together. I used the Two Tags die and cut out the larger tag using Rich Razzleberry and then layered on a bit of Island Oasis retired DSP. The Old Olive satin ribbon is threaded through the hole in the tag and then tied with a bit of the 1/8" Rich Razzleberry Taffetta ribbon. The fox from Fox & Friends is stamped using Rich Razzleberry ink onto Whisper White and layered onto the new Scallop Rectangle Clearlits die in Rich Razzleberry. I had a tough time coming up with a sentiment for the card, nothing seemed to work so I pulled out A Little Birdie told me (two years retired) and used one of its sentiments stamping onto a 1" circle and layering it onto a 1 1/4" circle.

So how about these quick and fun little cards.
Simple 4 x 4 cards in Chocolate Chip and 3 3/4" squares of Island Oasis DSP from the Summer Mini and bit of Chocolate Chip ribbon and the cute little Monkey from Fox & Friends stamped on Whisper White and punched with the 1 3/8" circle punch layered onto a Chocolate Chip scallop punched using our regular Scallop punch. The sentiment from Family Phrases is stamped with Chocolate Chip ink as well and punched with our 3/4" circle punch layered onto a 1" Chocolate Chip circle. Inside
More of the cheeky Monkey stamped on Whisper White in Chocolate Chip giving you lots of room for writing that special note.

Today's card is a cheery card, not because of its colors- I don't consider Chocolate Chip a cheery color- but the funny monkey from Fox & Friends definitely makes one smile.
I stamped the monkey with Chocolate Chip ink onto Whisper White. In order to get crisp, clear images when stamping these solid stamps, make sure that your ink pads are juicy and then hold the stamp for a couple of extra seconds on your paper, and you will get great images. I punched the monkey out with my 1 1/4" square punch and layered him onto Wild Wasabi squares punched with the 1 3/8" square punch. Garden Green cardstock is run through the Big Shot with Little Leaves die to produce the leafy boughs. The sentiment is from Cheep Talk and layered onto more Wild Wasabi. The only thing in hindsight that I should have done, is ran the Chocolate Chip through the Big Shot using my texture plates to give it a wood look or maybe stamped it with the Woodgrain background stamp. Now, why didn't I think of that when I was making it?

and then you can have fun with Fancy Fold Cards. Yesterday was my Fancy Fold Card class and one of the cards we made was a Joy Fold card. This is such a easy card to make and just a little different than your normal card. And since I am trying so hard not to hoard my "fun" card stuff, like embellishments and Designer Series paper, this class was great.
The Joy Fold card uses regular cardstock and Designer Series paper. Here are the sizes
Base color of cardstock 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 score at 5 1/2"
Second color of cardstock 3 x 8 and score at 4"
Designer Series Paper Three different patterns 1- 4 x 5 1/4,1- 2 3/4 x 4(we used two putting one on the outside and inside of the base and 2- 2 3/4 x 4 for the second piece of cardstock
And here is the card
We used paper from both the Good Neighbours Sale-a-bration pack and Sweet Pea Pad. The base of the card is So Saffron and then the top fold part is Old Olive. The little Monkey from Fox and Friends holds the card closed and when you open it
The sentiment is from Smarty Pants.
Now how's that for a fun card.

From the Occasions Mini has the cutest little animals. Now this a quick and easy card.
For the Lion I used my markers and colored directly on the stamp, Chocolate Chip and More Mustard, give it a huff and stamp. Easy. To give the background a bit more texture I used the background stamp Sanded and stamped using Versamark. The Lion sits on a Chocolate Chip and a More Mustard Scalloped circle slightly offset from each other and the sentiment is from the Sale-a-bration set Whimsical Words.
