For the Birds

And just where did I get this colour combination from?  Our Colour Coach, of course, it is a wonderful source for inspiration.  Sometimes when I make cards, I know the stamp set or the colours, other times I just don't know where to start.  I pull out the Coach and randomly pick a colour.  Today's colour was Midnight Muse and not feeling daring, I chose the Sweet Set combination, Midnight Muse, Bashful Blue and Cherry Cobbler.  Then I had For the Birds just sitting on my desk so there is my card.  The birds are stamped in Black Stazon onto Whisper White and coloured in with my Blender Pen and ink pads.  The sentiment is from Pursuit of Happiness.

Another Swap card

I only committed myself to one swap, my Sudsol Swap and thought well, if I have some extra time, I will make a few more card for general swapping.  Yesterday I showed you my 3 x 3 card and today I have a full size card, using the stamp set For the Birds.    I stamped the little bird onto Watercolour paper and colored it with my ink pads and Aquapainter and I used Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Real Red and Daffodil Delight.  Well, the bird, I do love the colour, but it certainly looked more like Pool Party so that is where I went to for colours.  Pool Party DSP and Island Indigo and then I thought that Whisper White looked too white and Very Vanilla, not right.  So how about Naturals White, perfect.  

 

I used the Lattice Impressions folder to give some texture to the Naturals White layer, the bird is punched out with our 1 3/4" punch and layered onto a Island Indigo 2 3/8 Scallop Circle.  Punches are simply the best for making multiples of cards, so quick.  I love my Big Shot but running through layers one piece at a time, well, let's say, For the Birds!
