Has this week flown by

for you too?  Hard to believe it is Friday but I am glad too.  Monday, my third favorite guy (after my hubby & son) MR UPS will be bringing me a box of goodies.  And in the box of goodies, my copy of the new SU catalogue!  Don't worry, your copy is on its way soon!  I have seen the catalogue and oh my, you are going to love it.  It is so crisp looking, and it is filled with fabulous stuff.  Things like faceted clear buttons, think of the old glass doorknobs-I'll be getting some of those and more framelits, embossing folders, oh and stamps too-some fresh new designs.

So while I am waiting for Mr. Brown, I am cleaning out my cupboard of my retiring stamps and giving them one last inking.  Today's stamp set, Flight of the Butterfly.  

Isn't this a fun card.  Kind of like a pinwheel made with Berry Blossom DSP and Early Expresso cardstock-super quick and easy.  The Calypso Coral Butterfly is from the Flight of the Butterfly set.

Flight of the Butterfly

is such a pretty set, and I will admit it, very underused in my house. 

 For today's card I used used the small butterfly but the large ones can be punched out with our Butterfly Punch.

 I used Crumb Cake for the base of this 4 x 4 card layering a small strip of Marina Mist with another piece of Crumb Cake ran through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dot Impressions folder.I  used the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch for the Marina Mist lower border and the Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to adhere them.  If you haven't tried these sheets, they are simply the best thing for glueing anything fiddly, quick and easy and boy do they stick.

Get Punchy

 and not with people but with your cardmaking. Use  your Curly Label punch to make a decorative edge by just putting your cardstock in about 1/4" and punch, slide over till the edge of the first punch and punch again and what do you get

The small butterfly from Flight of the Butterfly was stamped with Melon Mambo ink on Whisper White and punched out with the 1 1/4" square punch.  The Scallop Square punch was used to punch out Melon Mambo for matting the butterflies.  A bit of Melon Mambo Polka Dot ribbon to brighten up the left side, stamp your sentiment and you are done.

Organizing

is a chore BUT the results are so worth it.  This year is the year to Organize my Life.  Yesterday I started with my stamp room.  I took every stamp box out of the cupboard, entered it in Excel, numbered each set and put them away.  Question is Why did it take me so long to get around to doing it?  I can find any stamp set so fast now it is wonderful.  Anyway, while I was moving all the sets, I saw Flight of the Butterfly set.  I love that set but it sat neglected, inkless, in a dark cupboard, due to the fact I could find anything.  Well, today it got some loving.

Not only did I pull out a forgotten set but also some forgotten colors.  I haven't used Regal Rose and Rose Red in ages.  Now, I did use some new products, the Perfect Polka Dots impressions folder and Scallop Trim Border punch.
