Coloring

is something we did as children and never worried about how we were doing, it was always beautiful, just ask your Mum or Dad, not your siblings.  Funny how when we "grow up" we "think" we can't do it anymore, the colors aren't right, I can't get the shading,blah, blah, blah.  Well, here's another thing my Mum used to tell us, practise makes perfect and she was right. 

 This card I think is my best "coloring" to date. I used Black Stazon to stamp the flower spray from Elements of Style onto Whisper White and colored it in using my blender pen and ink pads.  If you look at your stamped images, the artist helps you, shading the areas that should be shaded so apply a darker color there.  Leave white spots, it makes the images have more life and most of all, don't "scrub" with your blender pen, it will cause your paper to ball up. 

The sentiment from Sincere Salutions is also stamped in Black Stazon for a crisp look and then a thin Basic Black border frames the image perfectly and then is layered onto a Melon Mambo card.  If I may say so myself, striking!

And how about a easy Stocking Stuffer

Chapstick is a great stocking stuffer but let's make it a bit more interesting

 not looking too much like Chapstick to me but undo the bow and

 hiding inside a tube of lip balm with plenty of room for a stamp or writing.

Into the stamp cupboard

 I went and what set did I find, Elements of Style.  You know how I love that set and I put it away as I was using it way to much, the other sets were getting neglected.  But if I didn't tell you it was Elements of Style stamp set I used on this card, would you have known?

 You were looking for flowers, weren't you?  This time I used the flourish only, stamping it with Rich Razzleberry ink onto Razzleberry Lemonade DSP (trying to use up some of my stash before breaking down and buying some of the new ones and there are some great ones in the new catalogue)

This card is very simple to make, I started with a Rich Razzleberry base, 5 1/2 x 8 1/4 scored and folded at 4 1/4.  Layer on DSP 4 x 5 1/4 and stamp the flourished upper right and lower left.  The focal point on this card is the sentiment and it is from a great birthday sentiment set, On Your Birthday (111664)$41.95 for twelve different sentiments including belated birthday. I stamped it with Rich Razzleberry ink onto a 2 x 3 piece of Whisper White, matted with a 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 piece of Melon Mambo and then matted again onto Rich Razzleberry 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 and attached to the card with dimensionals.  Inside

 Another piece of Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4 stamped again with the flourish in Rich Razzleberry.  Now, all I need to do is make sure I get it in the mail!

Tell me to put it away

yes, it is the Elements of Style stamp set again.   I just can't help it, I love this set. 

This card uses Crumb Cake (Kraft) as the base and then Elegant Eggplant, Mellow Moss and Whisper White.  Elegant Eggplant is a very powerful color and the other two colors soften the card.  The hummingbird is stamped onto Mellow Moss with Mellow Moss ink and highlighted with Dazzling Diamonds and attached with dimensionals.

Come on you got to admit, this is a gorgeous set.

Getting back the Mojo

with my favorite stamp set, Elements of Style.  And while we are talking favorites, let''s add the Impressions folder, Square Lattice die and Lovely Lilac and Lavender Lace.  These two purples are on the Fond Farewell list and yes, I will miss them.

This card was not my design but I cased it from Card Scraps.  It is such a perfect card all I did was change the colors.

Getting ready for the Old In Colors

coming back.  Yes, Wild Wasabi will be available again July 1st.  Today I have paired it with Garden Green and Riding Hood Red, another returning color.

And yes, that is the stamp set Elements of Style from the Summer Mini, I did warn you that I loved this set.  The image is stamped with Real Red onto Whisper White and shaded using my blender pen.  The leaves are colored with Garden Green ink and the blender pen again.

Elements of Style

Now this is a set you will be seeing alot of on my blog. I love it.

I am just loving these flowers and they are so easy to shade with your blender pen.  After I shaded the flowers I colored in the leaves with my Blender pen and Always Artichoke ink and then stamped the image over the top using Versamark and the clear embossed it really making the images pop.

Happy May Day

Do  you remember the May Pole and doing the May Pole dance when you were in elementary school?  My son just laughs and shakes his head when we talk about it, times have really changed.  And speaking of changing times, today is the first day of the new Summer Mini Catalogue.

If you have got one, just give me a call or email and will get one out to you quickly.  This mini has some wonderful new items, they have new wheels, which I will show you very soon, great stamp sets, new punches, Designer Series papers, a incredible embossing folder that I showed you a couple of days ago and Smooch Spritz.  Now that Smooch Spritz is a great fun product.  It comes in four different colors Gold Glow, Silver Foil, Vanilla Shimmer and Log Cabin.  This is a very easy product to use, just spritz it on your project but there are some tips that are very helpful.  It is messy--overspray.  SU has a Color Catcher that is perfect to catch this overspray and for only $7.95, it is the best investment you can make.  The bottles that the Smooch Spritz comes in is glass so make sure that you place your bottles on a towel to keep them from rolling off the desk and on to the floor and you do realize they will only break if a) people are expected momentarily b) your kids just let the dog (cat) in c)you were told to be careful.   But with those two tips in mind, the product is beautiful and gives a wonderful shimmer to your project.  Ok enough babble, let's see the project, my attempt at Vintage.

This card is made with Elements of Style from the new Mini.  I stamped the image on Crumb Cake (formerly known as Kraft) cardstock using Old Olive ink.  I then stamped the image again using Night of Navy onto Brocade Blue cardstock and cut out all the flowers and attached them to the Crumb Cake layer.  I then distressed all the edges with my distressing tool (or should that be DE stressing tool as I find it very calming!) from the Cutter kit (106958) and sponged with Close to Cocoa and Creamy Caramel.  Then I put it in my Color Catcher and spritz it with Log Cabin Smooch Spritz to really make it age a bit faster.  The sentiment is stamped on Crumb Cake with Old Olive and ripped around all the edges and then sponged and attached with dimensionals.
