Happy Monday

Hope that you had a lovely weekend, we did.  Happy I didn't have to work.  Enjoyed spending a bit of time in my craft room, a reprieve from cleaning and the regular household chores.  Got a bit of relax time too, and I was in bed at 8 on Saturday night, I was exhausted!  

Now you know that I love the bunny from Welcome Easter but what about the chick?

It is pretty sweet too!  And that egg paper-it's from the Dino Roar DSP pack perfect for Easter don't you think?  Since the paper has Pineapple Punch in it I thought I would use it for the card base, sentiment and chick and then how about a matching chocolate gift to go with the card

It's a chocolate bar wrap.  And since most of  my Easter treats are being mailed this year. chocolate bars are perfect as they are thin so can go as letter mail instead of parcels!

When Purple is their favourite colour

My sweet granddaughter loves the colour purple so a purple bunny is definitely not out of the question when you are three! But hey, do rabbits really deliver eggs so who says a rabbit can't be purple.  I just love this guy from Welcome Easter

The sentiment is fromFable Friends and did you notice the background clouds?  They are from No Matter the Weather, March Paper Pumpkin kit.  I stamped them in Versamark and clear embossed them.

Easter Fun Fold

Have you seen the Welcome Easter stamp set?  The images are just so cute I had to get it.

Aren't they sweet!  And for $27 it really isn't a bad price for those 11 stamps.  You know I love fun fold cards and easy cards and make a lot of them, today I have a fun fold that I haven't made before.  Connie Stewart showed how to make it and I just had to try it.  

I used Smoky Slate for the card base and our Stitched So Sweetly dies for the window and the image panel.

 

Isn't that a cool fold?  There is lots of room for your writing

Yes, it is easy to make and perfect fold any occasion.

Hope that you had a lovely Easter weekend, for some including me, today is a holiday as well, back to work on Tuesday though I did work on Saturday so it was like having two weekends!

Here is the last Easter treat bag for the year,

Yes, it is a 2, 4,6,8 box, that means take what ever size of paper you want height wise and width is going to be 8 1/2.  Now score at 2,4,6,8 inches on the 8 1/2" side, turn and score at 2.  Cut up the score lines to the 2" score line, fold, burnish and glue.  There really is no simpler box.  And again, Peter the Rabbit is back, good news, he isn't going away, he is in the new catalogue.  Gee, I might have to use him a bit more!

Center Step Easter

Fable Friends Rabbit is back with another Fun Fold card.  This time it is a Center Step card, again looks complicated but is simply a standard card base 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, with a couple of cuts up each side and a couple extra scores and you get this great card that really makes a statement.

Today I used Balmy Blue and Blueberry Bushel together and for the sentiment strip I used March 2017 Paper Pumpkin set, Bunny Buddies.

A super fun fold

This card is super cute and a totally fun fold.  The card size is standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 but the card doesn't open.  The back panel is 4 1/4 x 8 3/8  and then a smaller piece of cardstock, 3 x 4 7/8 , a couple scores, some Tear n' Tape and you have a 3D card.  I am not really sure of the name of this type of fold, but let's just say it is a version of a step card pop up card.

I used the Painted Petals DSP from Sale-a-bration, so perfect for a spring card.

 

And a really bad picture of the back, (sorry, it's already gone in the mail and I didn't notice the super shaky picture) you can see there is lots of room for writing.

And as you see, it folds flat to pop in an envelope. once you lick the flap and close it, the envelope is perfectly flat.

Bright Sunshine

Love the brightness of this Lemon Lime Twist and Daffodil Delight card, very spring like.  Again we start with a half a sheet of cardstock, 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and by adding a couple extra score lines you get a totally different fun fold. 

Angie Juda of Chic'n Scratch had this fold on her blog last week and of course, I just had to try it.  Take your piece of cardstock and score at 2 & 3 1/8 on both sides and fold.

I used the Daffodil Delight Gingham Gala paper and then the Adhesive backed sequins from the Gingham Gala suite for the flowers.  Peter is stamped with Black Memento and coloured with my Blends.  If you haven't tried the Blends, you really should, they are fabulous.  At my last class, it was the first time they had used Stampin' Up blends and they were impressed at the ease of blending.  And remember, just like everything else in the Stampin' Up world, colour coordination,   And here is the back, lots of room to write

Happy April!

Woohoo, April 1st, spring is definitely here, almost all our snow is melted,the lawn is starting to have green patches, the sun is shining and hubby washed the truck!  Loving the warmth, even if it is just in the afternoons, I know that soon it will be warm all day.  

Sale-a-bration is over for another year but we do have lots of fun ahead.  The new catalogue comes out in June and starting today, Stampin' Up is introducing a new storage system.

 

The storage system is for our Blends, Ink Pads, Markers, refills and also includes a cube to store whatever you want to store.  There are five different modules that you can mix and match to make the system work for you. You can check out the flyer here

This week I am going to be showcasing Fun or Fancy Fold cards.  They all fit in a standard sized envelope and are all super easy.  First card is super simple, you make a standard side fold card and add one extra score line in the middle of the card front.

See it looks just like a standard card but

when it is standing you can see it is a bit different,

I used Fable Friends, loving this set, the rabbit really reminds me of Beatrix Potters, Peter Rabbit.  I used Crumb Cake for the base starting with a piece 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scoring at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4 and folding the card in half at the 4 1/4 score and then folding it again on the 2 1/8 score.  Blueberry Bushel DSP adds some pizzazz and then Peter is coloured with my Blends and a few of the fun Gingham Gala Adhesive backed sequins add the look of flowers to the grass.

Jar of Love

You don't have to use the jar!  The flowers in this set are perfect just by themselves.  

I used the brick wall embossing to add extra texture and interest to this 4 1/4" square card.The flowers are stamped with Dapper Denim and Melon Mambo stamping off to get the tone on tone look. Again the sentiment is from the March Paper Pumpkin.
