Red, Gold and Silver

 

are definite Christmas colors for me.    I love embossing not only for the texture that it gives your projects but the WOW, how did you do it factor.

Today's mission turn this

 into a WOW.  How about this

 

 Cocoa packets with the WOW factor thanks to embossing.  First, I measured the package of cocoa and it is 3 1/2 x 6 so I cut Real Red cardstock to 8 1/2 x 6.(simple formula for making packets- 2 x the width + 1 1/2 =8 1/2 and then the lenght)  I scored at 3 1/2, 7, and then at 7 1/8 to give a bit of depth.  Using Christmas Chatter Jumbo wheel (109686) and Versamark I did one run along the bottom and then embossed using Gold Embossing powder.  Using Sticky Strip, I closed up the packet as we definitely want a good bond. Then using Textured Real Red cardstock and Versamark  I stamped two of the ornaments from Delightful Decorations (116517) then embossed using Silver Embossing powder.  They are punched out using the Ornament Punch and attached with dimensionals.  I love the extra bit of texture achieved by embossing on the textured cardstock.

 
The package of cocoa is easily inserted into the packet.

Big Shot and Punches

as we all know, Stampin' Up has fabulous Big Shot dies and punches.  For today's workshop at Ingmarie's this is one of the Make & Takes, a gift card holder, perfect for the upcoming holidays.  We will be using Stampin' Up's exclusive Top Note die as the base for the card holder.

 Then we run it through the Big Shot again, using Perfect Polka Dots Impressions folder to give it some texture.  In the Holiday Mini on page 15, they have a card using the Decorative Label punch and an ornament from Tags til Christmas, well I don't have that set, but I've got Delightful Decorations so that is what we used.  Notice the baby pearls on either side and the Gold Lame Smooch adding sparkle to the ornament.  Half a Top Note holds the gift card and the sentiment is from Many Merry Messages, really it is just a coincidence that the gift card says the same thing!

Occasional Quotes

is a fabulous Level 3 Hostess set from the 2010-11 Idea Book and Catalogue.  It has 12 different sayings covering, Birthdays, Weddings, Baby shower/birth, Christmas, Thank you and support in beautiful fonts.

 Today's card uses the Christmas stamp and I CASED this card from fellow SUDSOL demonstrator Tammy Fike changing the colors

 is this not a simple but beautiful Christmas card?  Rich Razzleberry base Marina Mist mat and ink and a rhinestone on the ornament to add a bit of sparkle. Now I could have used the greeting from this set for the inside of the card as well, but chose to use one from Many Merry Messages

Quick and easy, perfect card if you need to make lots.

Another simple Christmas card

 Delightful Decorations stamp set and the new Ornament punch have got to be one of the best things in the Holiday Mini.  This card has a base of Very Vanillla matted with Real Red.  Three ornaments are stamped on Very Vanilla and then punched with the ornament punch add a sentiment and little ribbon and there you have a easy but lovely card.

Quick and easy

 

 Could not be a easier treat holder than this and look no ribbon needed to hold it together. Cut cardstock to 3 1/2 x 11 score at 4 1/2 & 6 1/2.  Cut a topnote die and score in the center and attach to the back and pop a piece of DSP on the front flap.  Decorate as you want.  The weight of the Top note keeps it semi closed and then I have punched out the Delightful Decorations and attached them with dimensionals tucking the top note die in behind.

A quick and easy treat.

Delightful Decorations

In case you have heard or received your Holiday Mini, here is a sneak peak.  All I can say is we are all in trouble with this mini, it is so loaded with beautiful sets, paper, ribbons, and dies.  Good thing it is around for 4 months.

This card is made with the set Delightful Decorations and the best part(yes, Sherryl, you were right), a punch that cuts out the decoration.

 What do you think of the Designer paper, beautiful.  Ok, it's not in the Mini, but in the Big Catalogue.  What, you don't remember seeing it, it is on page 158, the Speciality Paper, Bride (115669).  Ever since Linda showed us how to do this technique, this paper has been on my list. Now, the paper is gorgeous just by itself, but now it is Wow. Cut to size and use a sponge or a dauber and sponge on Classic Ink. After  you have covered the paper, buff with a soft cloth. The foil resists the ink and leaves you with beautiful paper.  The ornaments are all embossed but I did not have any silver embossing powder so I stamped the ornaments with my Silver Encore pad (101039) and then used clear embossing powder.  It isn't quite the same but does give a neat effect

Kind of textured but cool.
