Woo Hoo long weekend ahead!

It's Thanksgiving weekend this weekend, looking forward to three days of nothingness (of course, that really is a word!).  Sleeping in (well here's hoping that my body clock let's me), some movies and spending time with the ones I love.  Doesn't that sound great!

Does this card shout fall to you?  The DSP is from the Autumn Spice pack, beautiful papers in there and then everything is matted with Early Expresso.  The leaves from Day of Gratitude are stamped with Cajun Craze and then I  used my markers to colour in the nut using Early Expresso and More Mustard before punching it out with my 3/4" punch and layering it onto a 1" Early Expresso circle.

Ever make a card

and think, gee that isn't really what I had in my head?  Today's card is one of those, while I love the layout, I probably should of picked a difference background paper.

 I think that background might just be a bit busy but maybe, it's just me.  The stamp set, Day of Gratitude and I used Autumn Spice Designer Series paper adhering it to the front of a Very Vanilla 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 card.  A strip of More Mustard sets off the Old Olive panels.  To add a bit of visual interest and help make them stand out from the busy background, I used my Gel Pen and added some fake stitching, about as straight as my real stitching would be!  I used the Designer Label punch to punch the sentiment, and good news, it is back in stock so if you want one, no waiting.  Using my Old Olive and More Mustard markers, I inked up the flower stamp and stamped it onto Very Vanilla, and cut it out and attached with dimensionals along with the sentiment.

Quick and easy Favors

Triangle boxes, are perfect for showers, parties, or table settings. Uses just a 8 x 4/14 peice of cardstock and then decorate however you wish, use a letter to create a monogram, stamp a teddy or rattle for a baby shower, bells for wedding, add Designer Series paper or run your Stampin' Up wheels across, the possibilities are endless.   These ones would be perfect for a Thanksgiving table, just fill with candies, small gifts

 they are a great size, not too small or too big.

Happy Monday

Hope that you all had a wonderful weeked, we certainly did but forgot about the time change and we needed to be at the airport 45 minutes away at 4:30 this morning, needless to say, he definitely did not miss his flight!

On SCS, they are having a Holiday tutorial blitz and when I saw Maria's Treat Box and knew it was exactly what I needed.  Now I needed a masculine gift so made using Autumn Spice Designer Series paper from the Holiday Mini and Early Expresso cardstock. 

 I love our DSP as you will alway know which patterns will look good together and this one is the front and back of a sheet.  The flower is from Day of Gratitude and I inked up the stamp with my More Mustard and Old Olive markers and used Cajun Craze for the sentiment, also from Day of Gratitude. And just what do you put in this box

 how about a bag of Reese's Mini Peanut Butter cups tying it off with Old Olive Satin Ribbon

 The box part is 2" deep and 4" wide and 3 1/2" high so it holds quite a bit.  I have some good ideas for making some Christmas ones when I get home.

Happy Friday!

Is it just me, or did this week fly by?  I guess that I had too much fun this week, the weather was great, in the high 90's daily so lots of swimming and this afternoon our nephew is flying in from St. Louis for the weekend so it will be a busy one and fun too (benefits of marrying the baby of a family with lots of years between the kids, our nephew is 35).

Today's card is another fun fold, this time a pocket card.  They displayed this one at Regionals, another easy one, that I will make more of when I return home to my DSP collection. 

 This card really shows off both sides of our wonderful Designer Series Papers.  I used Autumn Spice Speciality Paper from the Mini. It is a heavier weight than our regular paper but worked wonderfully for this card.  Now, this card does not open,the tag pulls out of the pouch

  to reveal your message.  I used Day of Gratitude stamp set also from the mini for the leaves, stamping onto Very Vanilla in Old Olive, More Mustard and Cajun Craze. Since the paper is a bit busy on the inside, I used a  knotted piece of Very Vanilla ribbon to break it up attaching the leaves so they would be framed more by the smaller pattern on the Old Olive side of the paper.

Cajun Craze

is definitely growing on me, in fact, I think I must admit, I like it Alot!  It is similar but more vibrant than our old Real Rust which I guess adds to the appeal. 

For today's card I used Day of Gratitude and combined colors from the Regals Collection with one from the Brights Collection.  Cajun Craze and More Mustard are Regals and Old Olive our bright.

 Definitely not my style of card I will say, but sometimes you got to jump out of your box and go for it.

How about some of the Make & Takes from the Portland Regional?  The stamp set used was Day of Gratitude from the Holiday Mini.  Now this is one set that really has grown on me, and these cards even push it more.  The first card uses River Rock, Whisper White and Cajun Craze and lots of my favorite thing-dimensionals!  Add a bit of paper piercing for interest and you have a beautiful card.

 Notice the wonderful stamping, I guess I should have stood up to press that stamp to the paper!

 This bright & cheerful  Poppy Parade Get Well card from Jeanelle Shaw, uses the stamp sets, Word Play and Fifth Avenue Floral.

 And this gorgeous Thank You from Debbie Flattum uses Razzle Dazzle and Thank You Kindly.  I just love that Cherry Cobbler.
