Papillon Potpourri

I love the butterflies in this set and what makes them even nicer, we have punches to punch them out instead of fussy cutting them, how great is that!  Get ready, today I have another bright card for you, Melon Mambo, Whisper White and Daffodil Delight.  What can I say, the sun was shining today, making it seem like summer is on its way.

And to mute it just a tad, a little Pretyt in Pink which I stamped the butterfly on with Melon Mambo ink.  I ran the Daffodil Delight through the Big Shot with the Honeycomb Impressions folder, I know I say it everytime we get a new folder, I love it, it's my favorite, ok, I'll admit, these impression folders might just be a tad bit addicting!  I used our 1 3/4 circle punch to take a bite out of it, making a perfect place to bring focus to the butterfly.  The sentiment is from Bring on the Cake, such a great font.

I showed this card a couple of weeks ago, and I love the layout.

Same layout, totally different feel

Early Expresso, Marina Mist and Whisper White, I love this colour combination for guy cards.  I used the same 3" Die for the circle, stamping the car from Need for Speed in Early Expresso and matting it with the retired Scallop #2 die.  The sentiment is the same only not coloured in and our Scallop Border punch is used to match the scallop of the circle.

Quick and Easy Birthday cards

Last day of January

Spring is coming, can't you feel it?  Ok, maybe not feel it but we are almost through winter. Yeah, I am certainly not a winter person, dislike cold.  How about something bright for you today to help warm you up.

Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise & Melon Mambo, that is bright!

This card is 4 1/4 square for a change, still fits and mails in our standard envelopes so no extra postage required.  The monster from Make a Monster is stamped in Black Stazon onto Whisper White and the arms and legs coloured with my Pink Pirouette marker and then I stamped the monster again onto a piece of Melon Mambo DSP added the face and cut out the body glueing it in place with Tombow.  Sentiment is from Bring on the Cake, lots of great birthday sentiments in this set.

BC is big on recycling and I admit, I am a proud recycler, my goal every two weeks, one trash can and it better not be full!  We do very good at it too so that is great.  I don't like plastic bags and have the reusable bags but sometimes, we forget them or buy too much stuff ( I know how is that possible!) Our local food store has paper bags and just look what they have on the back

 notice the second tip on the right -use for gift wrapping.  Well, that would be kind of boring if you didn't have any Stampin' Up wheels

 I used Cupckaes Standard wheel and Real Red ink. Because the paper is longer than a standard card front, make sure you use a ink cartridge instead of just inking the roller on your ink pads.

The tag uses the Cupcake punch and silver embossing for the image from Bring on the Cake and some retired Real Red Stitched Grosgrain ribbon to finish it off.

Using the Colour Coach

Are you like me and get comfortable using the same colours all the time?  Well, pull out that Colour Coach and try something different.  Today's card started with Just add Cake DSP, the number sheet in Blushing Bride so here is the colour coach sheet for Blushing Bride

 I decided to use the Creative Combination, Blushing Bride, Early Expresso and Pear Pizzazz, a combination that I normally would not have chosen.

But, I must admit, I like it.  The image is from Bring on the Cake and where did I get that scalloped circle that I mounted it on, that is one of the die cuts from the new Perfect Pendants die.  The DSP is trimmed with White White punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch.  Inside another of the stamps from the Bring on the Cake set, with all those candles on the front, this sentiment was perfect
