Hey Birthday Chick and Oh, So Ombre

Happy Monday!  Believe it or not, last week of February and that also means the last week of Sale-a-bration.  I will say that I have loved the papers that Stampin' Up has created this year for Sale-a-bration.  Check out this card using the Oh So Ombre paper

This pack of paper is 6 x 6 and all  48 sheets are Ombre.  One side has this pattern and the other side is plain with the solid colour fading. The colours in the pack are Blackberry Bliss, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay and Rococo Rose.  

For this card I used the Bermuda Bay and our fun Wipe out Chicken from Hey, Birthday Chick and added a few of the Mango Melody Artistry Blooms sequins.  Of course, the chick is stamped with Memento and coloured with my Blends.  I certainly do love this set and hope that you don't get sick of it!  Yes, tomorrow this chick will be back!

Let's hear it for the boys Hop!

 

Welcome to the June Blog hop,.  This month is all about the guys and I have a bright and happy card using the soon to be retired set, Nuts & Bolts.  I just love those Robots and think they are perfect for a guy card. 

I love bright happy colours so I used our new In Colour, Tahitian Tide, a absolutely gorgeous shade of blue.

The robot is stamped onto Basic White and fussy cut, coloured with our Blends and then placed on Basic White that I blended some of the coordinating ink onto.  The sentiment is cut from the retired Special Someone dies and then I stamped the confetti around the edges of the card base from Hey Birthday chick another retired set.  And because I actually need two guy birthday cards for June, I made another this time using Parakeet Party ink but used a Granny Apple Green card base.

Another fun card

Using the Hey, Birthday Chick set.  First off, I must apologize for the spotty posts.  I have been working so much that my creating time is next to nothing and then I really don't have much creativity left in the tank.  Things will be changing this week at work as I will have help after two months of being solo so hoping that next week my life returns to some form of normal.  This week not sure how much time I will have but I did get two cards done on the weekend and I have a desk full of bits of cards that didn't seem to work so maybe those will come together!

Ok, for today, here we go 

Yes that is Bermuda Bay again,  needing those bright summery colours with our cold, snowy weather.  Again I have used the Old World paper embossing folder, love that heavy texture.

Happy Monday

Wow, February 15th, time is whizzing by, summer just ahead!  That's me, wishful thinking, man it has been cold.  Today we are supposed to get some snow so hopefully that means it is warming up!  Today I have a fun card using our fun Hey, Birthday Chick set and coordinating dies.  I have used the Wipeout Chick as my Granddaughter calls it and some non traditional colours.  The inspiration for the colouring came from a card done by Andrea Walford, just loved the colours.  Bermuda Bay,  Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green and Pumpkin Pie, don't they sound like chicken colours!

What do you think, it's a fun card right? 

I used a Basic Black card base adding a layer of Whisper White that has been ran through the Cut & Emboss machine with the Old World Paper impressions folder, love this folder.  I cut the paper on an angle and attached it to the card with dimensionals.  Next I slid in a piece of our Rainbow Glimmer paper that has the Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay colours in it to really bring out the colours of the Chicken.  The sentiment is heat embossed on Basic Black and snipped to make it just that little bit larger.  Inside,

Birthday Chick

Same colours and stamp set as Monday's card but I have used a different image and a slight change in the layout.

I am loving the Seaside Spray with Basic Black it really makes things pop.  I do love this sentiment, we should celebrate the person having a birthday.  Again I have heat embossed the sentiment and cut it up, which seems to be a trend right now.  It is a great way to enlarge your sentiments or customize them.  Do love this chick and the matching dies certainly make things easy.

Happy February!

Yes, February 1st, yay!  Have you noticed the days are getting longer, it's so nice to come home from work while it is still light out.

Do you remember the Chicken set, Hey Chick from Sale-a-bration 2017?  Well, this set is back and with dies!  

And it coordinates with Hey Birthday Chick from the January-June catalogue which also is available with dies!

How great is that?  Today I have cased a card from the catalogue using the Hey Birthday Chick set and dies.

I have used my favourites, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight for a really bright card.  Simple card but lots of fun.

Favourite Colours

It is not a surprise when I say I love bright cards, if you have been following me for awhile, you know it.  Today I have a wonderful colour combination, Granny Apple Green and Misty Moonlight.   Doesn't this stamp remind you of the old Volkswagen Beetle? Yes, it is the car from the Coming Home stamp set that is now retired but it is perfect for a car enthusiast card. I made this one for a friend who is a retired mechanic and still loves working on cars,  It was super easy to make this card by using the Stamparatus .  I simply moved the stamping plate down one notch for each row then removed the stamp, put it where I wanted the next row, and started again.

The Happy Birthday is from the new set You are Amazing and is stamped with Granny Apple Green. Add some Wink of Stella for the perfect metallic paint-even though Metallic paint was not around when the Beetle came out.  And then I used our Fine Tip Glue pen to put "glass" in the windows.

One of the nice things about using Card Sketches is their versatility.  This card uses the same pieces as Mondays' card with the addition of a sentiment panel.

Return to Reality

That's right, back to full weeks at work!  Have been really spoilt with having lots of days off, this week, school is back, work is back, life is back to normal.  But, one thing that happens this week is Sale-a-bration!  Yes, Sale-a-bration starts tomorrow and runs till February 28.  yes, it is shorter this year but guess what, we are having two Sale-a-brations this year, next one will be in July.  So you will get two chances to get FREE stuff and they will be different.  The first one, starting tomorrow has great stamp sets and lovely DSP.   Check out this gorgeous paper that is one of the FREE items.

This paper is called Flower & Field DSP and is 12 x 12 and you get 12 sheets with 6 different patterns FREE with a $60 order.   For this card I used a 2 x 4 3/4 strip of the paper and used Bermuda Bay and Basic Black for the mats.  The sentiment is from Approaching Perfection and yes it is one of the FREE Sale-a-bration sets.  I added a few Artistry Blooms Sequins for a little sparkle.  I love these sequins from the Annual Catalogue, you get 50 each of Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody and Rich Razzleberry all for $9.50.  I am on my third package of these guys!

Step it up

Today I have used the same layout and card pieces as Monday's card but added a piece of Granny Apple Green and switch the placement.  So here is Mondays card

And then let's Step it up just a little.

I used the birthday sentiment from Zany Zebras as the font on the birthday one from this set was a bit too small for the Crushed Curry strip.
