Last day of February!

I don't know about you but wow, February just flew by.  This week I am going to have all guy cards, these are the cards most of us struggle with, it's easy to make flower, bright cards but guy cards can be a problem.  First off, I am using the Limited Sale-a-bration set, Sky is the Limit.   I know it was only supposed to be available until February 15th but I guess they still have a few in stock and it was still available so let's use it.

Super simple sketch, sentiment at the top and then highlighting our image by putting two Basic Black strips makes the image stand out.  I used my Scalloped Circle punch again for my cloud mask, sponging on Soft Sky ink  around the edge of the scallop.  The airplane image is stamped in Memento ink.

Twitterpated?

DSP pack, pinks, reds, flowers and yes, lots of masculine patterns as well.  Like this striped one, Lucky Limeade, Basic Grey, Island Indigo and Riding Hood Red. I pulled the Basic Grey and Lucky Limeade and made a guy card.

What do you think- masculine?  The stamp set- You're Amazing and yes, it is carrying over to our new catty.  It has some great images

The tickets punch out perfectly with our Ticket Punch and the sentiments work so well with our framelits.

Busy day, Busy card

Today's card uses lots of stamp sets, starting with two retiring sets, Cheers to You and Birthday Bliss.  I don't know about you but I love Birthday Bliss, just wish I could decorate a cake like that set!  Then I used Party Hearty, love the balloons, Bring on the Cake  (yes, it made it from the Mini into the new catty) and a new set from the Catty, Happiest Birthday Wishes.  Colours used, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose and just to add some brightness, Daffodil Delight.  I said it was a busy card right, that's alot of stuff but it will also make the receiver busy too, as it is a interactive card called a Waterfall card.

 The balloons from Party Hearty are stamped using Versamark and clear embossed to give shine and texture.  The strings are Baker's Twine and tied together and attached with a glue dot.  So this is the card coming out of the envelope, now pull the lower ribbon and the first image folds back to reveal the second image

 What would a birthday be without presents?

 And of course the cake with beautiful fondant icing covering a scrumptious white cake with strawberry filling (remember I am pretending I can make a cake that looks that good!)

 And of course, being a adult party, fancy drinks with umbrellas (notice the Dazzling Diamonds to give the drink some fizz) and  that sentiment, that is from the new set, Happiest Birthday Wishes and inside

 Another balloon, and the sentiment from Bring on the Cake.

Bits & Pieces

I have been cleaning, reorganizing,  ok, figuring out what I have in my craft room and finding bits and pieces of DSP that I am really trying to use up.  Notice the lower portion of this card, bridal speciality paper from our last catalogue and since we have only 2 1/2 months until our new catty, I've got to do some cleaning.  I used my Stampin' sponge to turn the white paper to Tempting Turquoise and then used Tempting Turquoise and the bubbles from the set, Confetti for the top.  Boy, do I wish I could ice cakes like this one, smooth fondant by the looks of it.  Coloured in the same colours that I used for the card, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil Delight, it would certainly be the center of attention.

Happy Sunday

We are expecting a warm one toda,makes me happy I love the heat.  Today 's card is another Birthday card using Island Oasis DSP from the Summer Mini but instead of just popping down a piece of DSP how about doing a technique with it.

This technique is called Bargello and it is a needlepoint technique and with lined paper we cut varying sized strips, and glue them onto a piece of Whisper White moving the pattern.  Yes, look closely, you will go crosseyed!

Let's get Inky

 and transform this beautiful Presto Patterns Speciality Paper in a WOW paper.  Using a sponge I added Old Olive and Certainly Celery to the white Presto Paper and we end up with a wonderful mottled background that is a perfect backdrop for a simple card.

Even though it has flowers on it, to me the colors make it a masculine birthday card.   If you haven't picked up a pack, do think about it.  There are six different designs and yes, they do make great background pages for scrapbooking, but be brave, chop it up and make some magnificent cards.

Quick & Easy Birthday Card

 Starring You and Birthday Bliss combine to make a simple birthday card.  I stamped the stars from Starring You onto Certainly Celery cardstock with Versamark and a strip of Certainly Celery DSP matted with Close to Cocoa  and added some Certainly Celery twill ribbon( Sale-a-bration 2009).  The sentiment is from Birthday Bliss stamped with Certainly Celery ink highlighted with Chocolate Chip for the Ice Cream & Cake.   I punched this out with 1 1/4" square punched and layer onto a Close to Cocoa scalloped square.

May your Layers be Many

I loved the last card that I made with this layout so had to do another.

For this one, I used Pretty In Pink for the base, and then layers Chocolate Chip with the Pretty In Pink Polka Dots print from Pawsitively Prints (118060) and then more Chocolate Chip and Pretty In Pink and the DSP on this layer is from Pink Flamingo DSP (113976)then more Pretty In Pink and Chocolate Chip framing the image from Birthday Bliss.
