If you have never tried using Versamark with your Stampin' Up wheels, you really have to try it. This easy technique really adds some impact to your card. I used Riding Hood Red cardstock for my base and the Christmas Chatter wheel. Now, I could have just used Riding Hood Red ink for tone on tone, but it doesn't really pop, Versamark and clear embossing powder, it pops
One thing that is often forgotten is the texture that embossing adds to your card, people just love that feel. Then I used the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die from the Holiday Mini. I really have to say, that I am really not into sewing so Pages 16 & 17 are pages that are very easy to gloss over but I must say go back and take a second look, especially page 17. Take a look at the trim pieces this die cuts
and while you are on page 17, check out the Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. There are 12- 12x12 sheets in the pack and it costs $18.50 so why do you need it? Well, break that down and they are $1.54 a sheet and they stick ribbon, die cuts etc to your paper so wonderfully, you will never have to worry about a corner lifting. If you want to use your Big Shot die and cut a butterfly for example, cut your cardstock to the required size, now attach the cardstock to the sheet, trim it to size, run through the Big Shot, remove the backing and you have a sticky die cut. I used the Adhesive Sheets when I made the Scallop trim on my card, they are so nice to use, not at all like our Sticky Pages, so I don't think they would would well for glitter, but for cardstock or Designer Series paper, they are simply the best. If you want to attach strips of ribbon, put the ribbon on the sheet, peel up and attach to your card, it will not come up at the ends!
Ok, how about seeing the entire card, not just that little teaser
I used Big on Christmas for the main image, inking it up in Riding Hood Red and using my blender pen to remove the ink from the tree and then using markers, inked up the tree. The image panel is matted with Brushed Gold card stock and then Dazzling Diamonds fill the letters and the ornaments and star are colored with Smooch Gold Lame Pearlized ink.
Hard to get a good picture, but in real life, it looks awesome.
Happy Stamping,
