Elegant Wedding

Tried something new the other day, embossing on our Brushed Silver cardstock.  All I can say is Oh, my, it is so pretty but so hard to get a good picture!  I used our En Francais background stamp and inked it up with Versamark and silver embossed the words.

I am really empressed how clearly the the words are, yes Stampin' Up has fabulous embossing powder.  The bells are from Best of Brides and Babies stamp set and the sentiment from Petite Pairs.  

Slightly better picture but still not good!  I 5/8" Organza ribbon, I thought it had the perfect sheen for the card.

Best of Greetings

It is another of our Best of sets, to celebrate Stampin' Up's 25th Anniversary.  This set has some great greetings, I love all the different fonts and the great price.  

 This is another way of saying,  "thinking of You" but I think it is just a little more personal.  I stamped it in Basic Grey and mixed it with Gumball Green and Daffodil Delight for a bright sunny card.  The card base is Gumball Green and then I used a layer of Gumball Green Coordination cardstock and used my Big Shot and the Modern Mosaic Impressions folder to emboss it and then sanded it really making the pattern pop.   The sentiment is punched out with our Extra Large Oval punch and layered onto a Gumball Green Label cut with our Labels Collection framelits. Two textured butterflies punched out with our Bitty Butterfly punch and highlighted with some Basic Pearls balance the Daffodil DSP from Polka Dot Parade DSP.

Lots of Layers

Too much

texture? too many layers?  or is it just me?  I had a great idea (ok, in my mind, it was a great idea!) but the end result, hmmmm, just not like in my mind.  

The flower is from Best of Flowers, 25th anniversary set and I stamped it with Black Stazon and coloured it in with my  Daffodil Delight & Crushed Curry markers and then my blender pen and Always Artichoke ink pad.  I used our Ovals Collection framelits to cut out the center on the Whisper White and then ran it through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dot impressions folder then layered it over the image.  Added the Always Artichoke mat and then that's where it started to go wrong for me.  It just was blah, so what to do, add another layer of Whisper White ran through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dot impressions folder and then layer it all on a Whisper White card base.  I don't know, maybe it is the Crushed Curry and Always Artichoke, throwing it off for me, those aren't my favorite colours!

Happy Monday!

Had a little time this past weekend to play in my stamp room with a box of new stuff from our new catalogue.  I am going to say if you don't have the Magnetic Platform for your Big Shot yet, what are you waiting for.  That my friend, is the best thing in the world.  Now, Post it Notes will be for writing on and masking!  I showed you a video a few days ago about the Magnetic Platform so if you didn't see it, just click here to go back to that post.  

 I used the Magnetic Platform to hold the Window Frame framelit centered on the image and then cut the side round parts off with my paper trimmer to make this label shape.  The image is from the Best of Brides & Babies, one of the Best of sets.  I stamped it with Versamark & heat embossed it with our Silver embossing powder.  The background is En Francais background stamp and it too is silver embossed.  I used Brushed Silver cardstock as the matting, it really blended beautifully with the silver embossing.
