He's back............

but not for Easter this time.  The cute little Easter Lamb single stamp is perfect for baby cards, boy or girl, just change up the colours

For the boy card I used Soft Sky, stamping Brushstrokes Background stamp with Soft Sky onto Soft Sky for tone on tone.  The little lamb has just a tiny Soft Sky border.  The sentiment is from the Crazy For You stamp set, a photopolymer set, making perfect placement easy.  Change the Soft Sky for Pink Pirouette

 

and now we have a card for a baby girl.

Change the placement left or right, the card is perfect either way.

Christmas Tags

I did tell you that the Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper was my favourite DSP in the Holiday mini, it really has some nice printed and designer but two of them are my favourites.  The first sheet

Filled with  Santas.

These Santas remind me of the Santa decorations when I was a kid.  You get two pages of this print, just check out how many full Santa's that is.  You get 30 complete Santas per sheet and then partials which you can use too and they really are simple to cut out.  Wanna see?
Aren't these cute on tags?  The sentiments are from the Oh, What Fun photopolymer set.  I used 2" strips of Soft Sky for the tags using my Tag Topper Punches to make the ends.  

This one uses the Ornate tag topper punch

This one the Scalloped tag topper punch

This punch is retired but is easy to duplicate without a punch.

Baked Brown Sugar

Have you checked out this new In Colour?  It is simply scrumptious,not as dark as Soft Suede and not as light as Crumb Cake

and doesn't it go beautifully with Strawberry Slush. I have used the new stamp set, Really Good Greetings and the single stamp, Hello Foxy (yes, you can still get out single stamps until July 31.  The card is a simple 4 x 4 Whisper White card and then a    3 3/4" square of Baked Brown Sugar ran through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain Impressions folder.  Now, the card didn't start out with the Fox off the main panel but hey, if your Black Stazon isn't dry, did you know it smears!  Yep, so I cut my Fox out and then decided I liked him hanging off the edges so stamped him again placing him off the panel and attaching my cut out image over the newly stamped image.

Two by Two

Such a cute a la carte stamp, perfect for a welcome baby card. 

I love the A la Carte stamps, you don't have to spend alot or use alot of storage space and you can have a collection of single stamps that will cover you for any occasion.  The image is stamped on Watercolour paper and coloured in with ink pads and Aquapainter.  A few rhinestones (seem to be a bling kick lately!)adorn the boat.  Tangerine Tango, a colour that I have really started to like due to the Howlstooth & Scaringbone paper is used for the mats.  The sentiment is from Occasions Alphabet and the DSP from Comfort Cafe, I liked the watery feel it gave.

And this one may be my favorite

These Twisted Cards are all over and I thnk they are perfect for gift card giving,

Again Pool Party and Cherry Cobbler with Whisper White.  The sentiment is from Petite Pairs, I love how tiny these sentiments are, they fit so nicely in many on our layering punches.

For the outside I glued the pocket shut and attached a piece of Island Indigo DSP over the entire thing while inside

I left the pocket and just used a piece of the same DSP for to cover the bottom only.  The rest of the sentiment from Petite Pairs again stamped in Black Stazon and punched out with our 1 1/4 circle matted with a Cherry Cobbler 1 3/8 circle.  The gift card, Tim Horton's, a Canadian tradition.

Vellum & Frosty Friends

I love using this technique-like all the other techniques I love- super simple but packs a WOW factor.  It really makes the snowmen look 3D.  I simply stamped the image onto Vellum and then turned it and placed it on my Stampin' Piercing mat (it's foam) and used the Stylus from my Simply Scored board to push down the snowmans bodies by going in circles and then using my Stampi' Write markers coloured in the birds, hats and scarves.  Then attaching the vellum to a piece of Very Vanilla, the snowman's bodies are white.

 Don't they look happy!  I used Very Vanilla as the base for this gift card holder and then the Island Indigo layer is ran through the Big Shot with our Woodgrain impression folder.  A little Cherry Cobbler seam binding is wrapped around the Island Indigo before it is attached to the Very Vanilla.  Pull up the little snowman and

out comes the tag with lots of room for writing your note and on the back attach your gift card with our glue dots.

Now let's add more Sparkle

by using our fabulous Glimmer sheets

Just a simple Scalloped strip of our Silver Glimmer Paper to highlight the Woodgrain on the Whisper White which I think looks like snow. The snowmen look a bit brighter I think without the Pool Party wash.
Everything on the card is placed at a slight angle, sometimes that is easier than straight!

So three cards down, are you falling in love with these guys too?

Frosty Friends Day 2

Simpler version using just two of the colours, Pool Party and Whisper White

Perfect Polka Dot Impressions folder gives the illusion of snow falling in the background.  The image is stamped with Black Stazon onto Whisper White and then I used my Aquapainter and Pool Party ink to give a wash around the snowmen.  I used my markers to cololur in parts of the snowmen adding a little Dazzling Diamonds to give some sparkle.

This is the card that started it

Ok, you have your holiday mini and just like any other catalogue, when you flip through it the first time, something catches your attention and then every time you go back through it, you just have to have it.  Well, the card that started it was on the bottom of page 9-don't know if it was the colours or the cute happy snowmen, but I just had to have that stamp.  Now, I don't really need any Christmas stamps but man, those guys are cute. Good thing, it is a a la carte stamp and only $14.95.  So I started off, copying the card in the catalogue.

 Truthfully the card isn't hard to make, it just has lots of steps.  First the little ruffle, is just our Finishing Touches edgelit on a thin strip, cut little relief cuts along it to allow it to follow the curve made by using our Adorning Accent Edgelit.  

The snowmen are coloured using our Markers and an Aquapainter is used to give the Pool Party Wash.

The Pool Party card base is ran through the Big Shot using the Delicate Designs Folder and a strip of Cherry Cobbler adds some extra impact.  Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine finishes the card.  Lots of steps but worth it.

So now, I have the stamp, just what else can I do with it, well, how about for the rest of the week, I focus on this stamp so if you didn't love it before, I just may change your mind.
