So excited to be invited to be part of this fabulous talented group of stampers and what a great way to start off 2021.
Have you seen the new Stampin' Up! January to June (I know, it flows right off the tongue!) catalogue, so many wonderful stamp sets, papers and accessories. As usual I am drawn to any cartoony animal set and flowers. The first set I purchased was Snailed it set, while not a big fan of snails in real life (I am a gardener) this set is so cute. For my first play with the set, I cased the card on page 79.
I love the brick wall as a background, it's like real life. I stamped a page of snails and mushrooms and coloured them with my blends and then since the dies were not available when I got the stamp set I fussy cut them out. Really, it isn't hard to cut them out which is wonderful. The background was very bright next to the images so I used my new Stampin' Blending Brushes and Crumb Cake to add a little colour. So happy with how the card worked out and since I had a few more images ready to roll, I got a head start on my January Birthday cards. This card is for a very special friend who is a big name in kid's TV and has had his hand in many of the shows that our kids watch. These images do look like something you would see on Kid's TV right?
Yes, it is a BIG card! I have some rather large envelopes in my stash and since he wanted a BIG card this one is 7 x 6 1/2. To make it, I used our Very Vanilla Thick card stock cutting one piece at 7 x 6 1/2 and another piece at 9 x 6 1/2 and scoring it at 7 1/8 and attaching the other piece of the card stock to the inside. You have a great big card and only if you look at the back would you realize it was not one piece of card stock. I just added a few more mushrooms and matted the image panel with Soft Suede. The sentiment is from the You are Amazing stamp set, yes that speech bubble is part of the set too.
And my last project is a candy bar holder Thank you gift. So easy to make these holders, simply measure your chocolate bar and add the thickness of the bar plus a 1/8" twice to the length and width tripled plus 1/8 . So my bar is just a shade less than 6 1/2 x 2 1/2 and 1/2 thick. I used a piece of card stock 8 1/2 x 7 5/8. Score at 3/8 on each side and then at 2 5/8, 5 3/8 and 6. Cut as shown in the diagram and add tear and tape. fold up and decorate.
And here is my decorated box. I used some of our gorgeous Vanilla Ribbon from the Forever Greenery Trim combo pack but all the other elements are the same as the previous cards and I added yet another cute snail.

Yes these are cute, I want to get them but sometimes we have to wait. I've seen so many cute cards with them. Your card is adorable and I'm glad those "bugs" are on it and not in the garden.
