Last day of the month and it's Friday and it's a Long Weekend!  It's going to be a nice weekend according to the weatherman, not as hot as this week has been but still lovely.   I have another goat card for you today, this time one of the other goats in the set. This guy to me, looks grumpy but cute.

Don't you just love that pop of the Magenta Madness!  I have used Gray Granite and Misty Moonlight, colours that I pulled from the DSP and  it just needed something.  Magenta Madness to the rescue and yes, that is the Tasteful Textile embossing folder again!

Way to Goat

What is it with the farm animals, I just have to buy the sets, Over the Moon, This Little Piggy and now Way to Goat.  I am not a farm girl, but I just love the cute animals in these sets.

I used the Brights Designer Series Paper pack, now I loved the patterns in last years pack, not so much this year , to me the colours just seem more muted or something, I am having a hard time using the papers but I am going to use them. 

Flirty Flamingo and Rich Razzleberry, not too sure of this colour combination but apparently it works!  

The sentiment comes from Butterfly Gala and then I inked up the Tasteful Textiles 3D embossing folder with Flirty Flamingo ink, inserted my card into the folder and ran over it with a block and you end up with a cool background.  I used the Tasteful Labels for the die cut and coloured the goat with my Stampin' Blends.  A couple of Artistry in Blooms sequins finished off the card.

Cheerful Birthday

Well, for me, August has fewer birthdays but I am trying to get a jump on them as I am working a lot this month, better to be prepared right?  Today is a easy card but thanks to Magenta Madness, it will get noticed

I used the gorgeous Flowers for All Seasons DSP pack for my starting point, and pulled out the Magenta Madness for my mats.  The thick Whisper White card base has been ran through the Big Shot with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.  Gee, I use this folder alot, I just love the texture that it gives.  The sentiment is from Peaceful Moments, punched with a 1 3/4" circle punch and layered onto the Label me Lovely punch.  I added a little of the Gold trim from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo pack.  This sketch is a great sketch I have used for years, varying the  DSP and punches or diecuts totally changes the feel of the card. Remember these cards from May, same Sketch.

Faux layers

I love layers, I love the dimensional that the layers give but sometimes less layers is better, especially when you are mailing your cards.  We have to fit through that tiny slot to go as regular first class mail with no extra cost,  So today, I have Faux Layers for you.  The card still has a few layers but I have cut out two layers.  First I started with a Thick Whisper White card base and a layer of Misty Moonlight.  Then the Whisper White layer makes up the remainder of the card.  A little masking and hand drawn lines, gives the impression of layers but it really is just one piece.

I used the Forever Fern stamp set, stamping the leaves in Old Olive and Mint Macaron then adding Misty Moonlight berries and splatter, but stamping off once to give a different tone to the Misty Moonlight.  A couple of Old Olive marker lines give the impression of a layer and an Old Olive sentiment from Butterfly Gala finishes off the card.

He's back!

The Ostrich and this is one bright card.  Marvelous Magenta is certainly a bright and happy colour and paired with our friendly Ostrich,it is a winner.   Dena had challenged us to make a card using a basic card  base, 4  x 2 3/4 DSP and 1 1/2 x 4 DSP, shape and ribbon. While I failed on the ribbon, (because I didn't see it till now!) this is the card I came up with.  

I added a Vellum oval and fussy cut the Ostrich and used Under My Umbrella for the sentiment.  The paper is from Flower for Every Seasons DSP pack, I really am loving this pack, not only does it have beautiful floral pieces but beautiful patterns on the reverse sides.  Now the card looked a little blah with so much Marvellous Magenta, so I used the Textiles 3D embossing folder, inked it up with Versamark and popped the card base in it and rubbed it with a block so it has pattern but it has a distressed look to it.  Well, since I figured out that I had forgotten the ribbon I added a little bow using the gold twine from the Forever Greenery trim combo pack, it is not on backorder anymore!

Feeling summery!

With the absolutely gorgeous weather we are having, it is not a wonder than I am drawn to bright summery colours.  Again, I have used the Nothing's Better Than set.  It is funny I resisted purchasing it on my first order saving it for my second order and goodness I should of purchased it first!  I am loving this set.    The this card I used our new Foam Adhesive Sheets for the word Cocktails.  The sheets are just our dimensionals but in one piece.  Attach to the back of the cardstock and run through the die cutting machine and you end up with a perfect popped up die cut.  Now with my machine I did have to run it through 5 times, but I think it was because the word is small and has very tight loops.  

This card uses so many of my favourite things, Magenta Madness, love this colour, Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder,Artistry in Bloom Sequins and of course, the Stamp set.

More Nothing's Better than

Years ago we would make lots of punch art with our punches and now we don't have many basic shape punches so I haven't done too much.  But with the Nothing' Better Than set, the Cookie Monster had a return!  

My grand daughter loves Chocolate Chip cookies  so this card is perfect for her.  Inside

And check out the shiny letters- super easy to do.  Put clear packing tape on your card stock and then put on your die and run it through your Die cutting machine.  I guess I use good tape, I did have to run it through four times but it could be the same die.

Sneak Peek

August is quickly approaching and the Holiday Mini Catalogue starts August 1.  As a demo, I got to order from the mini already.  One of the sets I got was Have a Hoot which has coordinating dies.  I try to get sets that will be good for several different types of cards and this set checks all the boxes.  The set covers both Christmas and Halloween but the cute little owls can be used for any type of card.  

I used the asterisk thing from Nothing Better Than set and the sequins are from the Artistry Blooms Self Adhesive sequin pack and the sentiment from Way to Goat

More Nothing's Better than

I am not a person who likes to make lots of one card, but two the same, I can. Same layout, same stamp set, different colours and embossing folders.  I love bright colours and these two cards do not disappoint.  Granny Apple Green, Magenta Madness and Mango Melody such a happy colour combination.  For the first card I used the Hammered Metal 3D folder

And this card I used the Subtle 3D folder.  

I really wanted a bold birthday sentiment and the only one I could find was from February 2018 Paper Pumpkin Wildflower Wishes.  Needless to say, I have a put Happiest of Birthdays on my next order.

Nothing's Better Than

Happy Monday, hope that you had a lovely weekend, it was gorgeous weather this weekend , really feels like summer now.  Have a perfect Monday card today made with the Nothing's Better Than set.  I love the coordinating dies, with the words along with the images.

I love the retro feel of this set, really reminds me of growing up in the 60's.  I used Real Red and Pacific Point, inside more coffee cups and of course, the perfect sentiment.
