Welcome to this stop of the Around the World of Wednesday Blog Hop! I am so excited to be part of this hop, we have some amazing cardmakers I am in the Kootenays in Beautiful British Columbia, Canada. This month the theme is Must Haves for your Creativity. Well for me, Sketches are my must have. Whenever I am lacking inspiration, a sketch always gets those juices flowing again. There are so many places to grab a sketch from, just check out Pinterest, but a word of caution, don't look at too many, pick one of the first five you see, or you will be back on the "nothing is working for me" train!
For this hop I am using a Freshly Made Sketch.
Now you can use a sketch exactly like it it, or flip it around to suit your stamps. For me turning it around made the most sense as I wanted the cow facing into the card but other than that the card is the same as the sketch. I used Over the Moon Stamp set, love those cows. The DSP is from Best Dressed DSP pack and I used a tiny Basic Black mat to really make the images pop.
Now let's use the Sketch as a jumping off point. I turned the sketch sideways, kept the circle, the mat and DSP panel but moved the sentiment. Totally different look but similar to the sketch.
I used bits of the March Paper Pumpkin kit for this card, aren't those boots great! The next card really has very little of the original sketch but the sketch was my jumping off point. I kept the thin sentiment strip and the mat and center panel but changed out the size of the center piece. I dropped the circle and just used the beautiful butterflies from Butterfly Gala placing them to the right side of the card. Added a few sequins for sparkle and I have a great card, inspired by the original sketch.
So next time your creative juices have dried up, try a sketch and be amazed how quickly you get back in the groove.
Thanks for visiting today! Don't forget to check out the other other amazing stampers on the hop. And just incase you have missed anything, there is also a complete hop list for you. Next up Sharon Burkert
