This one is for you

 My friend who I have had the longest!  Believe it or not, we have been friends for 47 years, started off as penpals when we were 13!   She is older than me (haha) ok, but not by much! Of course,  I had to use the cows and a fancy fold.  This time it is a wiper card.

At the age we are, it's a good thing that cows come home early!

Hey, you only turn 60 once so it should be sparkly right?

May Birthdays

I have a lot of friends and family who have May birthdays so I was very happy that the Cake Punch is back in stock.  Don't you love the bright, fun paper from How Sweet it is Pack

Pull any colour out of the paper for your cake and sentiment strip, I went with my favourite colour-purple so used Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather.  A little chocolate ganache to top the cake with my Bronze blend.

No cows today!

but I have a very Simple card that gives big impact.  The beautiful Petal Promenade paper is the star of the show and then I used Flirty Flamingo to mat the paper and for the sentiment strip.

The sentiment is from Varied Vases and I stamped it with Versamark and heat embossed it with our White embossing powder.  This simple design can be used for any occasion, simply change the sentiment, change the paper and you have a totally different feel.  Get out your paper and start chopping, we have new beautiful ones in the new catalogue so you really need to use up some of the old stuff.  I have three packs of new patterns on my list!

Easel card

I haven't made a Easel card in a while and since I am on a fancy fold kick, why not.  And gee, not just one cow, how about three!

Again, paper from the Share what you Love pack, beautiful green like a lush field.  The sentiment strip is what holds the card into the easel position.  A few Gingham Gala sequins look like flowers.

Happy Monday

Hope that you had a wonderful weekend,  The weather was wild this weekend, sunny then pouring, thunder and pouring.  On the good side, rain is good as the hills are drying out so fast, hopefully the rain will hold off forest fires for a bit.  

I had some playtime this weekend with my favourite set, Over the Moon.  That's right, you are going to see more cows this week, I am going to get you to love this set as much as I do.  

Yes, another fancy fold card and more of that wonderful paper from Share what you Love pack.  I starting colouring the cow and chose Poppy Parade for the flower and her boots and then used that for the matting,  Our Layering Squares are perfect for this type of card.

And how about a close up of that super cute cow.  The cows are real easy to fussy cut and I used my blends to colour her.  The boots have been coated with our Fine Glue pen so they really look like gumboots.  And speaking of gumboots, I went and bought a pair last week, shiny black ones, fit nice but my goodness, do they smell.  Anyone know how to get rid of that rubber smell quickly.

Are you like me and waiting

for June 4th and the new catalogue?  I will admit, I am obsessed with Over the Moon stamp set, I just can't stop using it.  When I place my new catalogue order I have a few more sets that I can't wait to introduce ink to.   I think there is something for everyone in the new catalogue, now you may not see what you like on your first run through as there is so much to look at and the layout of the catalogue has changed, but trust me, on your second and third (or even more) things start popping out at you! 

Today I have a card using the same cardstock (Crumb Cake, Whisper White), the same piece of DSP from Share what you Love pack and same image from Over the Moon stamp set again.  But this card is a fancy fold, a couple of extra cuts and scores and it isn't at all like this card

Totally different right?

I am certainly loving this DSP pattern with animals.  Truthfully it was my least favorite sheet in the pack, I had used one single 4 x 6 piece and it was the other side of the paper I used.  Now I love it, and certainly am glad that I have a few sheets of it to play with.  Thank you Angie, for showing this pattern some love and inspiring me to use it.

The card folds up and fits in a standard sized envelope but when you take it from the envelope and stand it up, this is what it looks like from the top, lots of mountain and valley folds that give it that fancy look.

On the back, a perfect spot for adding another piece of Whisper White to highlight the space to write but even if you didn't put the piece there, you have lots of writing room.

Same as

yesterdays card, but a different stamp set.  This time This Little Piggy makes an appearance.  I have had this set since it came out last year, but really have not used it much.  So since I love the cow set from the new catalogue, I decided the pig set needs some ink too!

Layout, DSP and cardstock all the same as yesterday and this little piggy looks perfect.  Inside the rest of the greeting,

See simple can be great!

Over the Moon

I am just loving this set, Over the MOon from the new catalogue.   You can get it June 4th but as a demonstrator we were able to order it on our preorder. 

Angie Juda got this set too and she made a cute little box with it and I cased her idea for the layout and DSP and turned it into a card using a different cow and sentiment

The paper, Share what you love Speciality pack from the current catalogue kind of looks like the fields around here in the summer, very dry with tufts!  I am sure that isn;t what they thought of when they designed it, but that is what it reminds me of.  The cow is stamped with Memento ink and coloured with my Crumb Cake light and dark, Dark Petal Pink and Dark Smoky Slate and Dark Mango Melody Blends.  Added a few rhinestones and another Crumb circle and a tiny oval for the sentiment.  Simple and cute--that is a winning combination.

Best laid plans

I should never of said that I would be spending time yesterday in the craft room, I didn't spend a single minute!  We did have a wonderful day, really enjoyed our day off but didn't get any crafting time.  Oh, well, today is another day, right?

Here is a bright birthday cad using our How Sweet it is Suite.  I love the striped background that is from the How Sweet it is  DSP pack, this pack it filled with these fun colours.  The Candies and sentiment are from the Sweetest Thing stamp set coloured with our beautiful blends.  Have you ever used our Fine Tip Glue pen to give a bit of 3D to your project, I did with all the candies

This glue is similar to our old Crystal Effects and gives a slightly raised image and lots of shine.  Try it on your next project, you will love the results.  Well, off to start another glorious day,

Happy Victoria Day

Victoria Day Long weekend has always marked the beginning of summer and outdoor camping season, and this year, no different that the many before it, rain on Friday and Saturday and the weather starting to improve on Sunday.  Now we don't camp anymore, too old to sleep on the ground- me, I love my hotels!  Got a lot of stamping time in, and gee, I can't show you most of it----yet!.  Also got some time in the garden, planting and installing our watering system and mulch on top of the raised planters to help stop them from drying out too quickly.  Tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, beans, carrots, cucumbers and squash all in and growing nicely.  Need to plant more carrots and bush beans this week so we will be able to have constant veggies from the garden.    

One of the projects I worked on this weekend is for a swap, here is what I can show you

Crumb Cake, Basic Black and Whisper White all cut, ready for stamping, embossing and assembly.  Really please with the card I came up with so I hope those I am swapping with feel the same.  I am really not a person who likes to make multiples of one card but once in awhile it is ok.  

Using up more of the beautiful Petal Promenade paper with this clean and simpe card design.

The paper is so pretty you really don't need to do too much to make a beautiful card.  I used Vellum for the sentiment, heat embossing it with our Gold powder.  A couple of epoxy hearts are pretend anchors for the strip.

Yes, the sentiment is from Incredible like You, just love the fonts and sentiments that come in that set. Well, have a great Monday, I am going to enjoy my day off and stamp!
