Incredible like you

I love this stamp set such great sentiments with a lovely fonts and nice flowers and leaves.  Since we have just over one month left of the Occasions catalogue, I am trying to use up the DSP packs from it, today I have use All my Love pack along with the coordinating ribbon for this gate fold card

Gate fold cards still use your basic piece of cardstock, 5 1/2 x 11, you just score on both sides instead of the in the middle.

Stampin' Up's claim to fame is the coordination from ink to paper, to ribbon and this card showcases this fabulous coordination.  I used  Lovely Lipstick for the card base, the DSP has Lovely Lipstick in it and ink and ribbon are Lovely Lipstick too.   The little epoxy hearts are clear but I coloured them with my  dark Lovely Lipstick blend. Notice the fabulous colour matching.

Inside the card and on the envelope I have used flowers from the set.

Happy Monday

Hope that you had a fabulous weekend. We had a lovely weekend, got a lot done which is always great.Saturday the weather was crazy, sunshine, then wind and rain, hail then snow!  Thankfully it didn't stay long and Sunday it was back to lovely sunshine. Got to dump and got rid of all the recycling so that was a great job done, personally I would go every weekend just to keep things tidy,  my sweet husband thinks every month or so is fine, since he is the driver,he wins!  Did manage to get some playtime in my craft room on Sunday.  One of the cards I created was for a very special couple for their anniversary.

Instead of a white card, the card is base is  Granite Gray,then I stamped with Memento Black and  a pop of colour with the bright yellow butterflies.   I do not have a current stamp that says Happy Anniversary so I used the retired set, Number of Years gold heat embossing it onto Basic Black.  Butterfly Gala and the coordinating punch are in the Occasions Mini but will be carrying over to the annual Catalogue so that is great.

Simple PackagingT

Everyone always says when it comes to gifts, it is the thought that counts which is true but I like to add, it also the packaging.  Just like us, when we dress up we feel so much better (well at least I do) and people notice.  So why should your gifts be any different.  Dressed up, anything becomes special. This easy packaging uses the Animal Expedition DSP, aren't those crocodiles cute

Thesentimentt is from Picture Perfect Birthday, I think that is my most favourite sentiment right now, and I stamped it in the retiried Lemon Lime Twist and layered onto a Call me Clover scalloped circle and of course a little bling!

Another fun fold

 

I know two in one week, this one is so different, I just had to make it.  My mentor, Dawn Griffiths showed this fold on her blog the other day.  I used the soon to be retired set, Postcard Pals and this fun Pelican.  

Crumb Cake and Balmy Blue go really nicely together and yes, the Balmy Blue Gingham paper is retiring too so I am trying to use it up.  A fun simple card

Sentimental Rose

April 2019 Paper Pumpkin is a gorgeous kit.  Even if you just make the cards the way the designer intended, they are beautiful.  Check out this card, I made it to the instructions,

Beautiful colours White, Smoky Slate, Gray Granite and Calypso Coral.  Check out the envelope , yes, they come printed inside, this one is Calypso Coral, then there is So Saffron and I think the last one is Mint Macaron .  This kit makes nine cards with the kit but you will have extras.  The stamp set includes our Distinkive stamp check out the rose I stamped on the envelope

Another Fun Fold

This time it is a modified Z fold card.  So simple to make, just your standard landscape card 11 x 4 1/4 folded at 5 1/2 and then fold the front of the crd back on itself.Now add a strip, mine is 1 1/2" by 11, fold it the same but attach opposite so that the smallest fold is on the longest fold of the main card and the longest fold is on the shortest fold of the card base.  Told you it was easy!

I used Smoky Slate for the base and the Animal Expedition DSP and of course the Rhino is from Animal Outing.  The sentiment is from Life is grand set.  The sentiment really has three dots and the word add at the beginning but I simply masked them and inked up with stamp, removed the mask and stamped.  Voila, the greeting I needed!

Happy Monday

Hope that you had a lovely Easter weekend, for some including me, today is a holiday as well, back to work on Tuesday though I did work on Saturday so it was like having two weekends!

Here is the last Easter treat bag for the year,

Yes, it is a 2, 4,6,8 box, that means take what ever size of paper you want height wise and width is going to be 8 1/2.  Now score at 2,4,6,8 inches on the 8 1/2" side, turn and score at 2.  Cut up the score lines to the 2" score line, fold, burnish and glue.  There really is no simpler box.  And again, Peter the Rabbit is back, good news, he isn't going away, he is in the new catalogue.  Gee, I might have to use him a bit more!

It's a super long weekend!

Happy Thursday, it's almost Easter and how about some super simple Easter baskets?  These re small but gee, they do hold a lot of candy, I put 4 mini Cadbury Caramel eggs and 10 Reese's Peanut butter eggs in the baskets and the candy just comes up to the rim.  Now, to me that is lots and a major sugar buzz!

They are made out a 6 x 6 piece of DSP, score at 2 and 4 both sides and cut to the score line on opposite sides.  Fold your cut pieces up to meet the center flap, glue where you want them to meet, add a 1 x 6 cardstock handle and decorate.  Really it is that easy!

Have a wonderful Easter, spend some time with your families and friends and remember the real reason for Easter is not chocolate!

Oh no!

Did you see that one of my favourite sets, Postcard Pals is on the retirement list?  I love this set, such cute little creatures, but the good news, in the new catalogue, there is one set that is top of my list that will replace this set, it's animals, not like these, but cute animals none the less.  

Since I coloured this little guy with Blends, I will tell you that there are seven new Blends coming in the new catalogue, the five new colours and So Saffron and Granite Gray- those two are much needed I think.    And just how do I know what is coming in the new Catalogue- well as a Demonstrator we get to see the catalogue early and order early as well.  Now I do not have the catalogue in my hands, I have a PDF and boy, is it gorgeous. I have made my first list, now I will go through the catalogue again and probably add to it!  The suites are beautiful, and I think that there is a new artist at Stampin' Up, some really different stamps this time.  Don't worry, you can get a catalogue too, if you have purchased from me this year, you will receive one in the mail.  Want to see it now, just join Stampin' Up and you will get to see it as soon as they email you your demo number.

The retirement list is up so if you want anything from the current catalogue orOccasions Catalogue, check the retirement list and don't delay on ordering as items are one first come basis.

One really big thing to note is there are a lot of stamps on the list that are not "really" retiring.  Stampin' Up! will no longer be selling wood mount stamps or our clear stamps, all stamps in the new catalogue will be the Cling mount stamps.  All stamps except the background stamps, they will still be available in Wood mount.  So for example, This Little Piggy set is on the retirement list both in Wood Mount and Clear Mount but it is in the new catalogue as a Cling Mount set, same price, different product number.

Well, that is a lot of reading, isn't it?  So now a card

 

Isn't it a bright card, Lovely Lipstick and Granny Apple Green go so good together.  I used Petal Palette and believe it or not I only used one stamp set for the entire card, adding only a little shimmer splatter, Lovely Lipstick ribbon  and a few sequins.  Even the envelope gets the beautiful leaves and flowers.  And yes, this stamp set is on the retiring list and will not be available in the new catalogue.
