Last time for Mr Frog

This was the little treat I made for my class last weekend, yes, those are Mint M & M's in the bag.

Don't you love the sentiment it is form More than Words, one of the Sale-a-bration coordination sets, it has some really cute sentiments

I matched the cardstock, Call Me Clover with the M & M's using the Scalloped Tag punch and threading the Whisper White retired Satin ribbon, around the treat bag and through the hole in the tag and tying a bow.  Little treat bags are easy and really make the receiver smile.

How about a bright and colourful card with Painted Seasons stamp set

I used Mango Melody, Poppy Parade  and Lemon Lime Twist with Early Expresso for the sentiment.  This set is one of our Distinktive  stamp sets so you get the look of two step stamping with just one stamp.  The images have darker and lighter areas all with one stamp so you get the WOW look, super easy.  And if you want to try a Distinktive stamp set, April's Paper Pumpkin is going to have a distinktive stamp set (sorry, not this one and I don't know what the set is going to be).  The sentiment is from Incredible Like you, come on, you know I love this set.

Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper

I told you about this paper yesterday and today I have a card made with it

Isn't that a stunning piece of paper, really don't need to add much to the card just a sentiment and a little grounding strip.  Yes I used the Story Label punch again, this time punching out one of the sentiments from Part of my Story set and to layer the sentiment I simply punched out another label in Early Expresso, cut it in half side to side and glued it onto the back leaving a little border top and bottom, you really don't notice the sides as I have a strip of Early Expresso card stock behind the label.

Painted Seasons

This set has beautiful images and is a Level 2 set so free with a $120 purchase but y ou get the beautiful set and a pack of beautiful coordinating Designer Series papers.

The paper is also available by itself as a Level 1 so free with a $60 purchase.  So here is a card using just the stamp set. 

Basic Black and White with a pop of colour with the Real Red Story Label punch.  This punch is one of the coordinating items that Stampin' Up brought out to coordinate with the Sale-a-bration items and it is still available, it works with the Part of my Story Stamp set (another Sale-a-bration Level 1 set) but it works with lots of our sets and I love punches.  Today I used it with Ribbon of Courage set and a 1 1/4" circle punch, I think that they layer beautifully,

Here is the punch you can see, it's definitely a keeper.

Last Week of Sale-a-bration

Well, really you have next Sunday too, but it's coming down to the wire.  Lots of things are sold out but the stamps will never sell out as Stampin' Up makes them.  So this week I am going to show you what you have been missing if you haven't got any Sale-a-bration items that are still available.  Today the frog set, So Hoppy Together.

This is one of the cards that we made on Saturday at my Birthday card class using one of the Happy Frogs.  We used blends to colour and the Seaside Embossing folder for the background.  You know I love the Stitched framelits and the Layering Rectangles so of course those are used on the card.  The sentiment is from a retired set, Guy Greetings, it was the perfect size.  Here they are very studiously creating, we did have a lot of laughs and everyone made beautiful cards.  Don't miss the next get together!

Fancy Fold Friday

Personally I love Fancy Fold Cards, what is a fancy fold card?  It's a card that isn't you basic fold in the middle card, it can have two  flaps that open like a gate fold, it can have the card front flipped back on itself, there are so many different types.  Today, I have a really pretty one for you, made out of a 5 1/2 x 12 piece of DSP but it still ends up a standard size card of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.  Since the Share what you Love DSP is a thicker paper, I used just DSP for the card but if you had thinner DSP, I would put a piece of cardstock behind the back layer to give it some extra strength.

Here is the card, showing both sides of this beautiful paper and using one of my favourite stamp sets, Just Because.  Standing up the card looks like this

This fold is definitely one that lets you use a few stamps, you have three stamping places, the front, the middle and the end.

For the center I used stamps from the Love what you do set, just love that sentiment

And again on the back panel  colouring all the images with my Stampin' Blends and matching the colours of the DSP, Rich Razzleberry, Mint Macaron and Old Olive.  The Whisper White and Rich Razzleberry panels were all cut using the Stitched Rectangle dies.  And the best thing about this Fancy Fold card, it is so easy but really packs on the WOW factor.

This little bunny

Is just so cute, truthfully I was so tired on Saturday night I went to bed at 7:30 and you know what happened right?  4 AM, eyes pop open and I am awake.  Lie there for awhile and at 5 say forget it, and get up.  Well, what can you do at that time in the morning and not disturb your hubby?  Colour bunnies!  Thankfully I had stamped nine bunnies  on Friday and my stamp room and our bedroom are right next to each other so he will hear me milling about and stamping so I gathered my bunnies and some blends and off to the dining room to colour bunnies.  It was a lovely quiet time with a cup of tea.  Now I had coloured bunnies ready for projects.

Here is a great little box for a little Easter gift to give someone.  I chose Crumb Cake for the box, perfect with my Crumb Cake bunny and then Balmy Blue for the jacket and with Stampin' Up notice the perfect colour match with the Balmy Blue cardstock behind the bunny.  I used the sprinkles from the Sale-a-bration set Hello Cupcake and stamped in Balmy Blue onto the Balmy Blue cardstock to give a little texture.

 

 

Inside some Hershey's Kisses and there is plenty of room to put something little like a gift card, lip balm or even a few bucks.

Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather

A beautiful colour combination , again using the same elements as a card last week but cutting the DSP from How Sweet it Is DSP pack in three instead of leaving it as one piece.

Using your DSP, best idea ever, imagine all the cards you will have and the space you will gain!

I am always thinking

that I should make Sympathy cards before I need them but I never do, and then they are just so hard to make!  This one is very similar to the one I needed to make a couple weeks ago, using the same stamp set, Flourishing Phrases and the Vanilla and Gold for a beautiful elegant combination.

This time I changed the layout slightly, making the image panel quite a bit smaller giving a different look to the card.  Do you have troubles making Sympathy card too?  Really I need to spend some time making a few and then, have them ready when your emotions are not in the perfect place for creativity!

Happy Monday!

This weekend had glorious weather, spring is so close!  I hope that you had beautiful weather too, it was chilly overnight but the beautiful sunshine and temperatures in the 50"s really  made it lovely in the day.  Even got out one of our rainbarrels to collect some of the water running down the downspouts as the snow is really melting.

Well with the spring feeling in the air, we need something bright for Monday.  This gift bag is made with some retired paper  but I really needed something birthday-ish.  

 

A few score lines, some Tear n' Tape, hole punch and some ribbon to attach the tag and you have a super cute gift bag.  I used Picture Perfect Birthday for the tag, just love that font and our Stitched Circle and Layering Circle dies match so perfectly.
