Gracious, it was cold here, a bit warmer on Sunday up to 33-so like 11 degrees warmer, but trust me it certainly didn't feel any warmer! Just 5 months and my weather will return! Truthfully I can't complain, I have a lovely warm house but I am a sunshine and warmth girl, not a sunshine and cold girl. Stayed inside an played in my craft room as much as I could and almost finished my cards by Wednesday I hope to be totally done and Wednesday my pre order from the Occasions catalogue is supposed to be here so that means playtime only IF all my Christmas stuff is done. I will be planning out classes for the New Year, I am excited we have some lovely stuff (surprise, we always have lovely stuff) but stuff that is summery. Bright exciting spring colours.
One of the things I really needed to make was Christmas tags so that today I could mail out my last package. I really don't use much wrapping paper, I have cloth bags that I made years ago that we use but we have this roll of paper that we got from Costco at least 8 years ago that will not end so every year I try to use a bit more of it up, I think I have another 5 or more years to go! I like the red and gold side of it for matching up to our cardstock.
I used Crumb Cake for the tag, punching the top with our Scalloped Tag Topper punch then running it through the Big Shot with the Cable knit folder. Remains of the November Paper Pumpkin kit supplied the greenery, then I used the Sprig punch for the Vellum and Gold Glimmer leaves. I love this sprig punch and I am not alone, it's on backorder yet again. What about that bow, I made that with our 5/8" Burlap ribbon, pulling out the strands of burlap (super easy) and making a bow, love this size of strand, more body than our fabulous linen thread. The sentiment is retired, another set that I will not get rid of More Merry Messages and I heat embossed it with gold onto vellum cardstock and attached it to a retired Red Foil punched starburst. It's so easy to make beautiful tags, they are the same as making a card, only you are working smaller and one sided.
Happy Stamping,
