More from the Santa's Workshop Memories and More pack, this time I used just the 3 x 4 cards, one vertical and the other horizontal. This time a Poppy Parade mat and the same layout as yesterday.
And since you get two of each card in the packs, two cards are possible but for this card, I just changed the 3 x 4 background card
White on White with just a pop of colour-I do love to make simple and fast cards but I love to make simple and fast cards that pop. Texture is a big part of making a card pop for me, whether it be texture from heat embossing, impression embossing or a background piece of DSP, all three up your card to a different level. This card uses our beautiful Woodland embossing folder
The Real Red is repeated three times to offer balance and the Gold cord ties it all together. Yes, I love simple cards.
These card packs are easy to overlook in the catalogues, they are part of the scrapbooking section but these card packs are perfect for cardmakers too. Unfortunately for you Santa's Workshop pack sold out super early but I was lucky and managed to get a pack at the beginning. The packs contain two different sizes of cards 3 x 4 and 4 x 6 and stickers. These cards are preprinted with wonderful pictures and patterns that are perfect for cards.
Check out this Santa card.
I used a Thick Whisper White card base, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, one of the 3 x 4 cards with the Ho, Ho, Ho pattern on the left and cut down the Santa and elf image from a 4 x 6 card. A piece of Garden Green cardstock to mat Santa and the outside of the card is complete. Add a sentiment to the inside and you have one super cute and super easy card.
We have other packs available, not Christmas but other packs that will make beautiful cards, Big Plans, Best Route, Tea Room and Delightfully Detailed and the packs are only $10 each for 50 double sided cards, 6 speciality single sided patterns and then 4 sticker sheets. And to make card making even easier you can pick up a pack of notecards and envelopes or a pack of the Large Memories and More card bases and envelopes. Check out the video, my favourite is the Big Plans.
Everybody loves to receive a gift and it has often been said, it is the thought that counts but let's take it up a notch and boost the power of the thought with beautiful packaging to take a simple, inexpensive chocolate bar up a few notches. Everyone loves chocolate right?
I got the family sized bars that measure 6 x 2 3/4 x 1/2" so I started with a piece of Real Red 7 1/4 square. Score at 3/8 from either end, rotate and score 2 3/8 , 2 7/8, 5 1/2 and 5 7/8. Burnish all scores and cut at the 2 3/8 and 2 7/8 score lines just to the vertical score line. This will make your little pouch to hold the bar. Attach Tear and Tape to the 2 3/8 x 3/8 piece on both ends and fold to make your box. Take a look at the picture and cut the remaining 3/8" strip off
Now decorate the front. I used a strip of retired Real Red DSP and the cute elf from Signs of Santa with a sentiment from Cookie Cutter Christmas and Stitched Ovals. A little retired ribbon holds the case shut.
Perfect for any occasion, just switch up your DSP and stamped images, change the treat, smaller or larger, this design will work just adjust your measurements.
Hope that you had a wonderful weekend, I certainly did. Worked Saturday and got a lot done which made me very happy, love productive days. And then Sunday the Grey Cup was on so that means Stampin Time, don't have to worry about hubby. And stamp I did, got a lot of Christmas cards done so I will be showing them in the next few weeks. And I didn't just make Christmas cards, Postcard Pals did make it back to the shelf only to be pulled out again.
It's the happy Pelican this time, a bright and cheery card with Granny Apple Green and Pineapple Punch and crisp Whisper White. I love the Tufted Embossing folder it makes great textured background.
Remember this card from a week or so ago and I said that I was going to be using it at an upcoming card class?
Well here is the card that we actually made at class, similar but slightly different.
Same snowman, same embossing folder, same sentiment but changed thePool Party for Blueberry Bushel, Night of Navy for the Blendies and then a flip of the layout and you have a similar card. Want to know why? Well, I cut my bases and layer and managed to cut the Whisper White embossed layer incorrectly so the sentiment would not fit so instead I cut new sentiment strips and flipped the layout. Next time, measure twice, cut once!
Have a great weekend and hopefully stamp a little and get some of those Christmas cards done.
Here is an oldie from a few years back, the stamp set, don't remember the name but it is one that I sold. I do love the layout so this is a layout you will see soon with some new images.
But this time it is a stamped deer and then cut out with the Framelits. I love Blue & Silver for Christmas not only decorations but cards too. This card is Night of Navy but with the style of the deer stamp, one stamp and you get the textured pattern on the deer too. A little strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper adds that silver touch that I love.
Now the sentiment is not from Dashing Deer, I wanted "merry" not Happiest and I wanted it narrow to fit under the deer. I will admit I am a collector of sentiment sets so I do have a large selection to choose from. And when I use a dark base, I like to attach a piece of heavy copy paper to the inside, stamped of course!
And don't forget the envelope, it gets a deer too.
And Black Friday deals are coming to Stampin" Up. Starting November 23 (that's Friday) until November 28 there will be discounts on most of the items in the Annual catalogue except Hostess sets, Paper Pumpkin, The Big Shot, Bundles and Stampartus and a few other things. Click here to see everything that will not be discounted. The sale changes every two days and there are predetermined limits so if you want something don't hesitate
This fabulous Christmas set is carrying over- sure makes me happy but if you want it, the bundle price is only good for this catalogue, they will sell the individual stamp set or framelits but not as a combo price.
Here is a beautiful and easy card for you today
Gold foil paper and gold heat embossed sentiment really makes this card beautiful The sentiment is from Timeless Tidings as I do love the "Merry Christmas" sentiment. The deer is die cut out of the Whisper White layer and then the gold foil sheet attached to the back. A little red foil (sorry that is a scrap from our retired stash) die cut flower adds that little pop of colour. I then layered it all onto a thick Whisper White sidefolding card base. The only thing hard about this card- photographing it! I am asking for a photo cube for Christmas, I really need a better set up.
Does this Platypus look like he is saying come on, let's hug-- I think so. I needed to make a card for my niece who is having eye surgery, (she is 11) so I thought this guy was perfect.
He is stamped with Memento ink and colored with my Blends. If you haven't tried the new Blends, you really need to, they are fabulous and we have two more colours coming out in the new Occasions in January, Mellow Moss and Balmy Blue. I love streakfree colouring don't you? The background DSP is from the Animal Expediation DSP pack then I used a Mango Melody scalloped circle cut with our Layering Circles dies and then the sentiment from Ribbon of Courage is stamped on Whisper White and again cut with the circle dies. The happy little Platypus Is fussy cut and attached beside the sentiment. It looked ok put on the card but I added a strip of Blue Washi Tape (yes, I am trying to use up my Washi too) and matching Pool Party enamel hearts for a bit of whimsy.
