Clearance Rack

Every so often, Stampin' Up adds retired products to the clearance rack.  If you haven't checked it out recently, you should especially if you need to make Christmas Cards- you know December 1 is just 64 days away and getting started on those cards sooner rather than later is a good idea.

I know

This week has flown by and I managed to have a blog post every single day!  Amazing isn't it?  And guess what, no flowers today but it is a summery feeling card, thanks to some bright colours.

Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay,  a few sequins and the Beautiful You stamp set.  Another quick and easy card with just a couple of layers to give it some punch.  The hats and dresses are coloured with our Blends but we do not have Melon Mambo blend so I used our Lovely Lipstick and it really looks perfect.

Another Flower card

Third flower card this week- I must be having summer withdrawal already!  Today I am using the beautiful set, Love What you do along with the coordinating Share what you love Designer series payer.   This paper is thick so I used just the paper to make the card base and with a few scores created a modified Z fold so that the front of the card shows both the front and the back of the paoer.

A little stamping and a Whisper White interior panel for writing on and this card is done.

Varied Vases

Is a set that was inspired by Million Sales Achiever Mary Fish and is a perfect set to give flowers that will last forever!  

Not only does the set have different flowers, vases and sentiments it also has a matching punch that punches out the three styles of vase, a leaf and a tulip.    The flowers in the  set can be coloured or using two step stamping they can be filled with ink.  This card is a quick and simple one but the colours give it a bit of punch.  Yes those are the new colours, Granite Gray, Balmy Blue, Mango Melody, Highlander Heather and Lovely Lipstick.

Red Roses

are so beautiful and smell heavenly but unfortunately they don't last forever.  But the roses in Petal Palette will

 

Aren't they beautiful and realistic looking?   This card uses the Big Shot for three of the elements.  First the background, that is the embossing folder, Scattered Sequins.  Then. I coloured the roses from Petal Palette with my Blends and ran through the Big Shot with the matching framelits.  Lastly, the sentiment is from Celebrate You thinlits, and I cut that out in Whisper White twice and then once with Silver Glimmer paper to create a thick, stand out sentiment.  If you attach our Multipurpose adhesive sheets to the back on each piece of paper prior to rolling through the Big Shot, you have instant stickers so the pieces adhere together beautifully with no glue ooze or loose edges where you may have forgotten just a bit of glue.  And yes, that is a little bit of retired Washi Tape down the side but you could definitely use more glimmer paper instead.

Happy Monday!

I do realize that it is the middle of September but did the weather just turn to fall overnight!  Refuse to turn on the heat, but have had to light a fire Saturday and Sunday mornings to take the chill off the house.  Just a one load up fire and it keeps the house a nice temperature all day.  The colours of the trees on the mountains and in the yard are changing, creating a beautiful scene.  That is what inspired this card,

 

Colorful Season has you covered for every season, spring, summer, fall and winter  and some beautiful sentiments.

And you can get the framelits to cut out the images like I did on this card.

 

For the colorful leaves I used my sponge dauber to add some Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie to give two toned leaves and then the framelits and gold foil paper to create the leaf inlays and the open leaf to cut out the leaf holes.  The sentiment is stamped in Early Expresso.  A definite fall card don't you think?

Woohoo, it's Friday!

And I really did blog an entire week!    Let's see if we can make it an entire month.

Last card for Animal Outing, is a fun fold,  a modified Z fold.  This type of card is a fun one to make, your front and back pieces are 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 so your crd will be a standard sized card.  It's the Whisper White that actually is the Z.  It is cut at 3 1/4 x 11 and scored at 2 and 6 1/2.  Stamp and colour the piece and attach the 4 1/2" side to the back panel and the short 2" piece to the back of the front panel, lining up the front and back panels.  A easy but different fold.

 

I sponged the Whisper White with Balmy Blue and Old Olive to give some background and stamped the sentiment and cute little frog in the tree and then coloured it with my Blends,  The Rhino I stamped and cut out with the framelits and then glue him on, and yes, I just noticed I forgot to colour the bird!

 

With this fun fold you get lots of room to write a note, attach a gift card or picture,

This card, wasn't as quick to make but I love it.  I used the Rhino, giraffe and Kangaroo today, all of them stamped then coloured with the Blends and cut out with their framelits. And again, Paper Pumpkin to the rescue on the sentiments.

Sorry for the blurry picture, didn't notice till now and the card is already in the mail.  At least I have a good close up!

Open the card and you can see that  Giraffe is actually mounted inside the card

 

And since Blends are alcohol markers they bleed their colour through the paper so having making dies is perfect, just cut out and extra one and attach to the back of the Rhino and Kangaroo so when the card is open all you see is white.

Paper Pumpkin

sets have great sentiments  I don't seem to have a lot of sentiment sets right now and when I need something I take a look through my Paper Pumpkin sets, and can always find the perfect one there.  What are Paper Pumpkin sets?  It is a kit that arrives at your door, every month and contains everything except a block, scissors and liquid glue for you to make the project, cards, treat packets etc.  The stamp sets are only available in the kits so you get some great new sentiments. 

Check out the happy looking giraffes, coloured with Mango Melody and Bronze blends and cut out with the matching framelits.  The paper again is from the Animal Expedition DSP pack. A quick card perfect to brighten someones day.
