Butterfly Basics

I love this set.  Great images and it has matching Framelits to cut out those butterflies!  I love Melon Mambo and Basic Black together, really makes the colours pop.  I stamped the fern using Cucumber Crush ink, stamping full strength then again and again, not reinking so that you get the softening of the colour.

 

 

The butterfly I stamped onto Vellum with Melon Mambo ink and quickly heat embossed with clear embossing powder to give it just that little bit extra texture.

 

Cut out with the coordinating framelits and attached to the card with a glue dot and added just a little sparkle with some rhinestones.

Sometimes, clean & simple is the way to go!

Just like this card, clean and simple but with a bit of added pizzazz from dimensionals, colour and our bakers twine.  The stamps are all retired but sometimes you just need to use them.  I stamped the house from this Sale-a-bration set twice in Tuxedo Black ink and then again onto a scrap piece of Whisper White and punched it our with our What's Up punch (it's on the clearance rack right now for $13.79) and layered it over the two with dimensionals.  Early Expresso Baker's Twine (gee, it's retired too!) wrapped around the top and tied in a bow finishes off the card.

It's Friday!

Boy, has this week flown by and truthfully so has the summer.  I seem to be on a birthday card making binge, so here is another one.

I used Smoky Slate for the card base and mats, a piece of Crushed Curry DSP from the Cherry on Top DSP stack and Guy Greetings for the sentiment and car image.  Our little banner punch makes perfect banners to set off the image.

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, we had a nice weekend.  I even got a little crafting time, now that makes me happy!

Today's card is bright and cheery, Whisper White, Basic Grey and Daffodil Delight.  I used more retired DSP and the Be the Star and Happy Birthday Everyone Hostess set.  Love the font in this set.

Love these

colour together.  I saw a card on You Tube by Therese using a different stamp companys' stamps and I thought I could recreate it using Stampin' Up.  For the colours, I went to my now retired Colour Coach and came up with Old Olive, Melon Mambo and Basic Gray.

Aren't they gorgeous together?  I cut 1 x 5 strips and then using temporary adhesive stuck them side by side  to my grid paper.  Using the fern stamp from Butterfly Basics I stamped using Versamark and then white embossed.  A couple punched Vellum butterflies, a few rhinestones and a Teeny Tiny sentiment finish off the card.

Simple, quick but

not quite sure if I love it.  Have you ever made cards like this?  The idea in your head looks better than the finished product.  Get ready, here it is

I think it is the Bermuda Bay that is throwing me off.  I used the Cherry on top DSP pack pulling the Bermuda Bay and Soft Sky and Crushed Curry to use as my colours and then Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set for the focal point, the cake.
