  Todays card is a bright and cheery birthday card, that I cased from Jen Del Muro.  All I changed was the Brads, I used the Sending Love Exopy Brads  (117272)from the Occasions Mini, the image, I used a Cupcake from The More the Merrier, a Hostess Level 3 gift and the sentiment, I used Happy Birthday from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Chocolate Chip base, Whisper White, Pink Passion, Pumpkin Pie, Perfect Polka Dots Impressions folder,Paper piercer and Mat Pack, 3/4", 1" 1 1/4" and 1 3/8 circle punches, Scalloped Edge punch and of course, our corner rounder for the bottom right corner.

Isn't this a great birthday card! And inside

I added a couple more punched circles and the sentiment is from On Your Birthday.

Thursday Sketch

Thursday again, is it just me or are the weeks just flying by?  It is good though as that means warmer weather is coming.  Today I noticed two daffodils just about open and one of the magnolias is just starting to open it's buds.  That definitely means spring is just around the corner.

Here is today's sketch card

This card uses my favorite technique, embossing.  The sentiment the birds and the silver chipboard heart are all embossed with silver.  I used my blender pen and inkpads to color the birds wings in Bashful Blue and the hearts in Melon Mambo.   And inside

 Just two birds, silver embossed again and then wedding bells, silver embossed on the envelope.

I just had to

something so not Christmas today. After doing so many tags really needed to do something so totally different.  I used my favorite Hostess set, The More the Merrier and stamped the birds onto Watercolor paper with Black Stazon ink and added color with my Stampin' Up markers and my Aqua Painter.    The chipboard heart from On Board Essentials was covered with Melon Mambo DSP and highlighted with some hemp twine and a button.  The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes is punched with the Modern Label punch and then the Night of Navy matting is cut with the Movers & Shapers dies.

Happy December,

My this year has just flown by.  I am working on getting all my gifts wrapped and you know what that means, more gift cards.  Deanna, a fellow Canadian Demo, came up with a great gift card holder from the Top Note die.  You can check out here tutorial here.

The best thing

about challenges is they really help you to create.  Wednesday evening on a group I belong to, SUDSOL(Simply Unique Demonstrators Sharing On Line)(Sorry, you have to be a SU Demo to join) had a challenge with a sketch.  I know that there are lots of other groups out there that have sketches too, so if you have lost your MOJO, try a sketch. You will be amazed how easy it is to make a card once you have the layout.  Now all you have to do is :

• Choose your stamp set (ok that may take awhile)
• Choose your colors (go for your favorites)

And Voila, your card is done.  Here is the one I made for this challenge

I turned the sketch on its side and used those so cute snowmen from the hostess Level 3 set, The More The Merrier.  The circular stamps came from Delightful Decorations out of the Holiday Mini.  I love Bashful Blue and Night of Navy together and it really does give a COLD feeling to this card.

Punch Windows

Magnetic Movers & Shapers dies are great for punching windows in your cards.  This card uses the Modern Label Shaper to cut the window in the card face and then the sentiment is punched using the Modern Label punch and layered with another piece cut with the shaper.

The Stampin Up Punch Windows(115953)dies layer our Scallop Oval, Modern Label, Full Heart and Large Star perfectly.

Recipe: Cardstock:Kraft, Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie Ink: Black Staz-On, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, YoYo Yellow, Accessories: Scallop Edge punch, Earth Elements brads, Modern Label punch, Punch windows Mover & Shapers dies, Stamps:More the Merrier Hostess Level 3

The More the Merrier Birthday

Guess that means the older you get, the merrier the birthday.  Just remember that on your birthday!

Don't you just love the cupcakes in this set.  This card is 6 x 3 and uses the Hostess Level 3 set.  The DSP is Regal Rose from the Level 1 hostess set from the last catalogue wih Rose Red ribbon.  A button from Button Latte set and some dazzling diamonds finishes it off. Quick and easy.

Big Shot Fun

 and my Christmas card for the week. I used alot of dies for this card and did not have to hand cut anything.

1. Cut Whisper White 5 X 10 and fold in half.  Line up on Scallop Circle die leaving four scallops showing. Run through the  Big Shot.  Stamp the large snowflake from Christmas punch (115366) in Bashful Blue randomly on card.

2. Using Scallop Circle #2 Die, cut the larger scallop in Bashful Blue.

3. Use your Circle Scissor to cut a Real Red 3" circle and then a 2 3/4" circle in Whisper White. Stamp the snowmen from The More the Merrier in Black Stazon and color with your markers.  Layer the stamped image, Real Red and Bashful Blue scallop onto your card base.

4. Using a scrap of Whisper White, apply Happy Holidays from Chit Chat rubons and then punch out using the Modern Label punch.  Use the Movers & Shapers Punch window set and cut the Modern Label in Real Red.  Layer the two and attach with dimensionals to the top of the circle.

5. Rub your Embossing Buddy over the lower portion, add some two way glue and Dazzling Diamonds.

Another summer wedding

this one August 21 but as we shall be away for the two weeks prior, I thought I'd better get prepared.  This one is similar to the last wedding card I made as it uses the same stamp set, The More the Merrier and the similar colors, Brilliant Blue instead of Pacific Point and Crushed Curry.

I think that the birds from this set make really nice anniversary and wedding cards.  Sentiment is Chit Chat rub ons, I am going to have to add more of those to my September order that's for sure.

And another one from the same stamp set

 but I used the birds this time.  This was a wedding card I made for my best friends son who was got married June 20.  It has a mix of old and new colors, Pacific Point and Crushed Curry.  They really go together well, but no more Pacific Point. It's funny, I think both of these colors are very strong slightly overpowering but together they are perfect.  Got to love that new ribbon and yes, the dots are only on one side so a little persuasion is required to make it show the way you want it to.
