Pretty Packaging

No, not a Easter basket but a cute mini purse, Tote-ally Tote was a tutorial on SCS that I just had to try

 I used the Sizzlets Lots of Tags for the label, it fits our Large Oval punch so beautifully and the Scallop Edge border punch was used for the scallop strip. And now, what to put in it?

When you just need a little something

to give to say Thank You, these little packages are perfect.  Inside they hold three thin dark chocolate mints, a perfect little pick me up.

 Crumb Cake cardstock covered with offcuts of Designer Series paper form the basic box.  Rudolph from Sparkly & Bright holds the top flap in place but I added a bit of ribbon as well to step it up.

 Quick to make, and guaranteed to make someone smile.

Great things come in small packages

and when you make the package, it is even better.    One of the simplest boxes you can make is a 2,4,6,8 box.  Take a piece of cardstock 8 1/2 inches by whatever height you wish, score landscape position at 2,4,6,8 inches and portrait position score at 2.  Cut your relief cuts, add some sticky strips add a lid if desired and decorate as you wish.  What could be simpler

 Fill with edible goodies or a small gift,

Perfect Packaging

for little gifts. 

 

This simple box is quick and easy to make and can hold candy, lotion, perfume or whatever else you may think of.  The box holds items 2 x 2 1/4 x 4 1/2 tall so it is a good size.  I used Very Vanilla for the box itself and decorated it with Jolly Holiday papers.  
I used the Curly Label punch (119851) and Cherry Cobbler cardstock to make a contrasting area at the top to thread the Cherry Cobbler seam binding through and then the ornament punch to punch out embossed ornaments from the Delightful Decorations set.  The Cherry Cobbler ornament is embossed using Iridescent Ice embossing powder giving it lots of sparkle. 

  simple and adjustable, so easy to make bigger just make your base box larger and then enlarge your side panels to fit, the perfect packaging for lots of things.  For this one, my base box was 2 x 2 1/4 and the side panels 2 1/2 x 5.

Two days left

of the Incredible On Line Spectacular.  Two days left to get My Digital Studio for the incredible price of $53.48.  And two days left to sign up as a demonstrator for the incredible price of $107.50, if you have been thinking about it, better not wait too much longer.

Today I have cute little Christmas tags for you.  Everyone needs tags for gifts and these are super quick to make.  I used my Big Shot and Circles #2 die's largest circle to cut the base, using a folded piece of cardstock and shifting the cardstock over slightly so that the seam did not cut.

 Then using Versamark and snowflake stamp from Punch Pals I stamped around the edge and embossed using Iridescent Ice so it has sparkle.  The image is also from Punch Pals, gold embossed and colored in with Old Olive.

 

These one are done the same but use the cute Snowman from Jolliest Time of the Year.  A bit of Gold Elastic cord (was on the clearance rack) and Marina Mist 1/8" Taffetta ribbon they are ready to adorn those gifts.

I moved to the coast

 

to avoid the "S" word, SNOW.  We certainly don't get much and often go several years between falls.  This week has been cold (ok maybe not compared to the Prairies) but cold for here.  The other night -16C (3.2F)with the wind chill, and I am definitely not a cold weather person,  give me 38C (100F) and I am a happy camper.  Thursday awoke to more snow and it snowed for most of the day but it is supposed to turn to rain and wash all the white stuff away by early today, you bet that makes me happy! 

Remember the triangle boxes I have been making lately, here is another take on it.  This one uses a thinner strip of card stock so it is more pointy, and Kimberly Van Diepen had the wonderful idea to turn it into a Santa hat.

  Isn't it cute?  The bottom scallop is made with the Tasteful Trim die so easy to get perfect scallops.  We will be making this today as one of our projects, perfect for the tree.

Presentation is everything

well, that my opinion anyway.  Take this little gift

 Delicious I'm sure, I mean everyone loves chocolate but it just looks, ho-hum.

Now, today I got a small order in and one of the things I ordered was the Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper.  The big question I ask myself, why did I wait this long to buy it, it is gorgeous.  So check out how I used a piece of it

 Always Artichoke base, a piece of Deck the Halls DSP and just a little stamping, the greeting from Come to Bethlehem stamped in Alway Artichoke onto Very Vanilla and punched out using the Modern Label Punch.  Using my Big Shot and Punch Windows and Cherry Cobbler cardstock I cut out the mat for the sentiment.  Now, you have to admit, this looks alot better than the plain old chocolate bar and open the folder

 There is the chocolate bar wrapped in more of the DSP.  1 1/4" circles cover the magnetic closure.

 The paper is loosely wrapped around the bar and then a Always Artichoke belly band accented with more of the beautiful Pointsettias.  Perfect gift for a neighbour, mail person or our favorite UPS guy!

Whoo's the best

or should I say, what's the best punch Stampin' Up has right now. I will not choose, I love all punches and yes, I am only missing a couple from the catalogue, but I  love to use this Owl punch.

This simple box from Crumb Cake cardstock has been stamped with the Woodgrain stamp to resemble a tree. Now, I really don't know if Owls burrow into trees but this guy does. His home doubles as a window to see the fabulous candies inside.

I used the 1 3/4" circle punch for the hole and then the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle to edge it.  The tree branch is from another great punch, the Two Step Bird punch and the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Phrases is punched out using the new Medium Oval punch from the Holiday Mini. Yes, I will admit it, I am a Punch-a-holic!
