Well, this week flew by for me, how about you? And how about a quick and easy card for today. I cased this card design from the current issue of Card Creations magazine, changing the ribbon and sentiment.
I know, you are shocked-no DSP on this card! I used the Houndstooth embossing folder, retiring Hostes set, Perfect Words and Pool Party seam binding, how much simpler can one get!

My best watercolouring to date? I am thinking yes! Just goes to prove, practice alot and one day, you will be like, what it worked! I do love this hostess set, Faith in Nature. The line images are great for colouring, embossing, floating reinker technique to name a few. I used Soft Suede (you know I think this colour is finally growing on me), Pear Pizzazz and So Saffron and a touch of Wild Wasabi for the leaf.
The card base is Very Vanilla and then I put another layer of Very Vanilla on top that was ran through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dot impressions folder.
And the envelope, also Very Vanilla and the little flower stamped in Soft Suede.

I don't know about you, I just love the colour, Pool Party, and using it with Whisper White certainly gives a crisp looking card.
I used the Lattice Impressions folder for the background and then mounted it onto a piece of Pool Party cardstock and wrapped around some Pool Party seam binding. The image is coloured with my markers, Pool Party, Baja Breeze and Marina Mist to give the image depth.

A beautiful Hostess set that will be retired at the end of the month. I love the flower images and it is also a Two Step Stamp. Using the Two Step stamping on this flower gives it a watercolour feel.
These notecards were so quick to make, starting with using our Notecards (107311 -20 cards & envelopes for $7.50) and I said that they were notecards and size wise they are 3 1/2 x 5. I decided to use the retiring In Colours for my cards, Pear Pizzazz in the DSP from Nursery Nest and the leaves with the flowers are Poppy Parade, Blush Blossom, Peach Parfait and Concord Crush.
Quick, easy and won't they make a great Mother's Day gift.

Want to make an image a little softer than normal, simply ink up and then stamp off onto a piece of scrap paper before stamping your image onto your cardstock. That is what I did for the flower image so that the sentiment would really stand out. I used the hostess set Simply Soft, again, gee, I do love this set but this time I used the second step stamping method and used the solid stamp to give the flowers colour instead of colouring in the line images.
The sentiment is from Pursuit of Happiness, a wonderful five piece set that has lovely inspirational messages. Now what do you think of the Designer Series paper, that is from the Occasions Mini, Attic Boutique, loving that one that I used for the background, scrawling script. Now the whole card has a very soft look so had to liven it up with our Pool Party Ruffled ribbon.

Time for a change of shape, this card is 3 x 6 a great shape to get 4 cards from a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock. I used Pool Party textured cardstock for the base and then used Night of Navy as my mats. The beautiful Designer Series paper is from Attic Boutique, in the Occasions Mini. I don't know about you I just can't seen to get enough of Pool Party-love that colour. The image is from the Hostess set, Ain't Love Grand and I used So Saffron watercolour crayon to colour the balloon, using my blender pen to move it around.

and here is a bit of spring inspired stamping, imagine green grass, sunshine and flowers. Lucky Limeade might be just a bit bright for a lawn but maybe if you have polarized sunglasses it might look like that! The flowers are from the hostess set, Simply Soft, and believe it or not, only six more months to get this set before they stop making it. I coloured the image using my markers, and then layered it onto a piece of Pink Pirouette using my White Gel pen to add a bit of doodling.

Another thank you card using the same stamp set, Simply Soft and DSP, Autumn Spice. The Pool PArty Ruffled ribbon is so soft and incredibly easy to tie. The flowers are colored with Pool Party, Baja Breeze and Island Indigo markers making this an very quick card.

A beautiful hostess set in this years Idea Book and Catalogue has three different floral images. I love this simple flower sprig and using Pool Party sure makes me think of spring. That little strip of Designer Series paper is from the Spice Cake collection and is only available until January 3rd, which isn't that far off. I have included a sneak peek in this card-notice the lovely shape behind the image panel-that is one of the Label dies from the Occasions Mini-you are going to love them- six sizes that will fit any need. The sentiment is from one of my favorite sentiment sets, Short & Sweet.

flower set? Well probably not but it is a great one. Simply Soft is a Hostess set and it a two step set meaning it has line images that you stamp and then using your Stamp a ma jig, fill the image in with the solid stamp. Now just because it is a Two Step stamp, don't be scared. These type of stamps are perfect for just stamping and colouring.
For this card I decided to do just the line image and colour it in using another technique, gradient colouring
Now it may seem like alot of work, but truthfully the images are so small, it really doesn't take long. First stamp your images using Black Stazon ( you definitely don't want anything to bleed) I used my markers, Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride and Rose Red for the flowers and Certainly Celery, Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive for the leaves and stems. Start with you lightest colour and colour the entire petal (don't worry about missing little bits and do not go over it, just quickly brush over it, we want it light), then use the next colour and same light touch, colour from the base up about half way and using the darkest colour, just do the base.
Now is that pretty or what? The sentiment is also from another Hostess set, Perfect Words. How do you get these great hostess sets, simply invite your friends and host a workshop (gee that sounds like fun, a couple hours stamping with your friends) or place a order of $200 or more, receive hostess dollars that you can spend on these special hostess sets or any other item in the catalogue.
