Stampin' Up has a beautiful assortment of background stamps, and it is hard to choose a favorite but this one certainly is high on my list- Hello Doily. An absolutely beautiful stamp whether you emboss it or just stamp it.
I don't know about you but the name of this background stamp in my head is always, Hello Dolly. And then, it starts, that song that drives you crazy,
Hello Dolly, said hello, dolly,......well, hello, dolly It's so nice to have you back where you belong You're lookin' swell, dolly.
I'll spare you the rest, and hopefully I have transferred this problem to you!! It is a beautiful stamp, so ornate but understated at the same time.
My favourite colour, Purple! Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder, just love these two colours together, I may just be able to get over losing Almost Amethyst now. I stamped the image using Versamark then embossed using clear embossing powder for a tone on tone look and to give it just a bit more dimension I stamped it again on another piece of Elegant Eggplant and clear embossed and punched out the center and layered it on top. Notice the sentiment from Perfect Words, hostess set and it is on the jewelry tag punch only made super long and a bit of bakers twine tied in a bow
And what about that fun brad, that is a In Colour Designer Printed Brad in Wisteria Wonder with White polka dots.
I fell in love with the background stamp, Hello Doily in the new catalogue,it is so beautiful. So my order arrived, and the first stamp I go for, you guessed it, Hello Doily.
I stamped the Doily onto Very Vanilla using Versamark and then embossed with White embossing powder and sponging on Crumb Cake ink to "tea stain' it. Using the Hostess set, Perfect Words, I stamped Big Hug onto Very Vanilla and punched out with my Modern Label punch and again, sponged all the edges before attaching to the bottom right with two of the button brads from Vintage Trinkets. The Doily has a Antique brad in the center and then I attached it to a Crumb Cake card base. The top Very Vanilla strip is punched using the Pinking Hearts punch and again sponged with Crumb Cake and Crumb Cake taffeta ribbon is wrapped around it
Now this is one stamp, that I know will be getting lots of use.
