Is it one of "those" colours? You know the kind of colour I am talking about, the kind of colour you see everywhere, but you yourself think, nah, that isn't a colour I would use. Well, I will admit, it isn't my favourite colour, but then it isn't that bad of a colour. Kind of has a greenish hue to it and mixed with the right colours, it looks pretty good. What do you think?
Here I have used it with Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple (now those are beautiful colours) and I like the look of it. How many different stamp sets did I use for this card- three. Can you tell which ones? The sentiment is from In Pursuit of Happiness and stamped in Midnight Muse and then the flowers are from Button Buddies, and I stamped them in Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals and Summer Starfruit then punched out with my Scallop Circle punch. The other stamp, Betsy's Bloom- the butterfly. I stamped the large flower using Raspberry Ripple onto Vellum cardstock and put it aside to dry. Now Vellum is not porous you do have to have patience. I don't like to use my heat gun to speed it up as it seems to wrinkle it, so stamp that first, put to the side and make everything else. I then punched out a butterfly from the Vellum, centering the punch on the flower till I got the look I wanted. Yes, that Butterfly punch is one of Stampin' Up's new punches.
Is that not a beautiful butterfly? This is one Punch you will want to get. Not only does it coordinate with a stamp set, Papillon Potpourri, (I am so happy that Stampin' Up has so many sets that coordinate with dies and punches-so much nicer than cutting out by hand!) I then used Dazzling Details around the edges of the butterfly to give it a bit of sparkle and ended up with an added bonus. The Dazzline Details caused the edges to slightly curl up, giving the butterfly a wonderful "real" look. The butterfly body is simply some Baker's Twine wrapped and tied around the middle leaving the ends long for antenna.
Did you know that Stampin' Up buttons are not just round? That's right, our sets have little flowers too!Would you not love to get flowers in this pretty blue? Did you get any FREE buttons during Sale-a-bration, well, it is time to use them.Button Buddies is a perfect set, you can either stamp the image as it is or use buttons to accent the image.
And just a reminder, today is the last day to order from the Occasions Mini!
Well, from the title of this post, did you think I was going to be writing about sewing? Tasteful Trim die for our Big Shot cuts trims in four different designs, one of which is ric-rac. Can you tell from the colours of this card, I need Spring! Sunshine and warmth can't come soon enough. Using the die, I cut the Ric-Rac in Pretty in Pink and one in Pear Pizzazz and then attached to Naturals White cardstock, stamping my sentiment in Concord Crush. I then layered this piece onto a piece of Wisteria Wonder and then using dimensionals attached it to the Naturals White card base.
The flower from Button Buddies is stamped in Concord Crush with a Daffodil Delight button.
The little pig from Button Buddies and just what is he on? Well I told you I was organizing and I have been keeping those little empty jars that our embossing powders and glitters come in. We won't say how many I have collected but trust me it is not noticeable that I removed any from the box! I saw this idea in some photos from convention and just had to try it. And just what is in the jars now?
Rolled up ribbon, a perfect giveaway at my workshop this weekend. The colour of the pig matches the ribbon inside.
Heere is the card I made for this week's Case Challenge on SUDSOL. The card is from October's Stampin' Success magazine that all demonstrators get and it is filled with product details and card ideas. October's issue has a piece on the stamp set, Button Buddies. Now you know I love that set but the cherry stamp is not one that I have used very much.
The card base is Peach Parfait and the DSP is from the 2010-2011 In Colour stack. The image is coloured in with Old Olive and Real Red markers and remember when you are using your markers to colour in images on your stamps, always start with the lightest colour first so in this case, I started with the Old Olive. Now, I really did not have to colour in the cherries at all, but wasn't thinking! I used a Real Red button from the Brights Button pack and the other cherry is coloured with my Peach Parfait marker and punched out using the 3/4" circle punch and add with a dimensional. A simple but fun card to put a bit of sunshine in someone's life.
the chilled air, the rain, yep, fall is here! While definitely not one of my favorite seasons, I am more a sunshine loving girl, fall can definitely have some lovely days. Just check out this picture I took last week on my walk
yes, end of September, Dallas Road absolutely gorgeous. Here's hoping we get a few more lovely days like this.
Today's card, is very fall like, Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Pool Party (though that one definitely is NOT a fall colour) and Early Expresso.
But mixing the Pool Party with these colours certainly does make it more cooler don't you think? I do love my Button Buddies set, just check out my fabulous cutting done in a second with our Scalloped Circle punch. Early Expresso button is attached with mini glue dots after tying a bit of linen thread through the holes.

use a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock and get four of this size of card from one sheet. The cards fit perfectly into our Small Open End envelopes (107286) and are perfect for popping in the mail.
How about three different stamp sets on this one simple card, I used Teeny Tiny Wishes for the sentiment, it is the Hello baby stamp inked just the hello with my marker, Easy Events for the fabulous Cuckoo clock and notice the images behind the clock, they are from French Foliage, splotches and the words. I used second generation stamping which is ink your stamp, stamp off onto a scrap piece of paper and then onto your cardstock. This results in a softer image which was perfect for what I wanted. The DSP is from the Neutrals pack (117157). These packs contain 40 sheets 2 sheets of each double sided design in all 10 colours in the collection.
And just what are my favourites on this card, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, how could you not love those colours, Button Buddies and that beautiful ruffled ribbon. Well, maybe five of my favourite things, I do love that sentiment set too, Friendly Phrases.
How is that for a simple card with some punch? Stampin' Up has really thought about us when they are creating new stamp sets, this is another one that you don't have to fussy cut the flower (I know, you thought I cut them out!!) it simply punches out with our 1 3/4" Scallop Circle punch. I stamped the center flower right on the Whisper White and then used dimensionals to pop the other ones up. For the centers of the flowers instead of buttons, I added some Dazzling Diamonds (you can see it, you can see it) but forget getting that in the picture! I just love the Hello from My Friend, I just love big sentiments like that.
