My favorite Stamp

for my least favorite type of card to make, Sympathy. 

 the retired set, Bloomin' Beautiful, I just love that flower.  I used Pretty in Pink and Old Olive and I am very happy with how it came together.  I just seem to have a block when I make this type of card so maybe I should just make a few, before I need them.  The flower is stamped with Basic Grey ink onto Whisper White and then colored with my Watercolor Crayons.  The sentiment is from another retired set, Close as a Memory.  Maybe it is time to purchase Thoughts and Prayers on my next order,

 Inside and of course, we can't forget the envelope.

Farewell, Bloomin' Beautiful

Yes, it is true, my favoritist (is that a four year old word?) stamp set is retiring.  Well, we had a good run and yes, that one will stay in the stamp cupboard with the other, I just can't bear to sell, stamp sets. It is a good thing, I have another cupboard that I can put things in so no one really knows how many sets I really have!!

Pretty in Pink, Rose Red and Regal Rose do make a lovely combination.  I have mixed Very Vanilla on the image and the ribbon (even though the ribbon looks kind of white in this picture-I just checked the card again- and it is Very Vanilla) to tone down the abundance of pink.  The card base-Pretty in Pink has been run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dot Impressions folder (what did we do before these folders) to add even more texture to this layered card.

Bloomin Beautiful

is one of my favorite sets, so it regularly makes the rounds to my stamping desk.  And since I didn't put away my Elegant Eggplant ink pad the other day, that is what I used for todays card.

I started with a Elegant Eggplant base and then a Whisper White layer, which I stamped with the En Francais background stamp in Orchid Opulence and sponged the edges.  The flower pot from Bloomin' Beautiful was stamped with Elegant Eggplant and then shaded with my blender pen and the pot was colored with Creamy Caramel and Close to Cocoa watercolor crayons and my blender pen.  Inside

More Whisper White and the flower stamped in Elegant Eggplant and shaded with my blender pen.

Another Sympathy Card

Hopefully, this is the last one that I have to make for quite sometime.  Again, I have used the sets, Blooming Beautiful and Close as a Memory.

 Melon Mambo is kind of a loud color but combined this way doesn't seem too bad.

Sketch Challenge Thursday

I am so pleased with this card.  It is a simple sketch but I think the card is simple but elegant.  So here is the sketch

The Very Vanilla background is ran through the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions folder changing the background from blah to wow.  The next layer, Old Olive has rounded upper corners and the bottom uses the Sale-a-bration Scallop Trim punch.  The flower from Bloomin' Beautiful, yes my favorite set, is stamped with Jet Black Stazon ink and then using my blender pen I colored with leaves with Old Olive ink and the flower with Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose with just a touch of Summer Sun in the center.  The sentiment from Close as a Memory is also stamped with Black Stazon.  The ribbon, of course, is that gorgeous Satin Ribbon from the Occasions MIni.

Now, tell me, it that a contender for a WOW.

The first week of the year

just about over. January has always been my least favorite month. It always seems that winter have gone on too long by the time January rolls around and truthfully winter just started. For today's card, I have used my favorite stamp set, Bloomin' Beautiful to remind me that spring is coming.
Ok, I am in the desert right now and it is summer all the time, but I will have to go home soon.  I stamped the image on Watercolor paper with Stazon ink and then using my Aquapainter and Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery and Orchid Opulence ink pads I painted the image.  Now I must say, my painting is getting better!

Bloomin' Beautiful

What a beautiful day it was yesterday for the first of January.  Sunny and warm, spent alot of time outside in yard and we are getting all the cactus from Sue planted. So with my last few posts being focused on the garden and today spending most of the day outside,my card is also garden orientated using  Bloomin' Beautiful, one of my favorite stamp sets. 

The base is Whisper White 11 x 4 1/4, scored and folded at 5 1/2 to make a top fold card. A piece of Ruby Red DSP from Pattern Pack III, a level 1 hostess gift is cut at 4 x 5 1/4 and attached to the base.  I used a 1 x 4 1/4 piece of Pretty In Pink and attached it close to the bottom of the DSP.  For the focal image, I started with a scrap of Ruby Red cardstock and scalloped on side and then stamped on the flower and thank you from Short & Sweet.  I then stamped the flower twice more onto Whisper White, colored with my blender pen and Ruby Red ink and cut one flower out and then just cut the lower petal of the second one and attached them all with dimensionals.

I find this just gives the flower so much more pop.  I attached this with dimensional to the right side of the card and using glue dots attached a couple of Old Olive buttons to the band to balance it.

My Favorite Stamp Set

as my blog readers know, is Bloomin' Beautiful.  It is such a easy set to work with and I love the flower.

The sanded background stamp reappears from last week but this time using Basic Black.  The flower is embossed with Black embossing powder on Pretty in Pink cardstock.  I then used bleach to remove the color and the leaves were then colored with Old Olive Marker.  Simple.

Do you know what happens when you fall asleep without doing your blog post first?  That's right, it doesn't get done on time!  Well, better late than never.

What do you think?  Isn't it a bright card.  I must say I love Melon Mambo, it is my favorite of all this years In Colors. And of course, what stamp set did I use, one of my favorites, Bloomin'  Beautiful.  The flower on this set colors so beautifully and I added a little Summer  Sun in the center to brighten it up just a bit more.  Now, I did not put a sentiment on the card as I thought with this much pop it really doesn't need it and it is just a cheery note card to send someone.

Bloomin Beautiful

 My favorite stamp set and what is getting to be my go to layout.  I stamped Pretty in Pink with Bella Toile background stamp and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The flower pot is stamped on Whisper White with Black Stazon and the leaves were colored with Watercolor Pencils and a blender pen, the flowers with Summer Sun marker and Pretty in Pink ink and blender pen and the pot stamped on Melon Mambo DSP and pieced.

 Coloring the flowers is quick and easy just do a quick wash over all with Pretty in Pink, then go back highlighting parts.  Lastly, dot the centers with Summer Sun marker.
