From the Stampin' Up blog, a fun new way to make Advent Calendars
Countdown to Christmas
Got someone in your house who just can’t wait for Christmas? Help them count down the days by making this fun project. I loved the look of the tags on page 13 of the holiday catalog (US/CA), so I made my tags exactly the same way. For the containers, I used the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack. So easy—no cutting necessary! To make the containers, apply the adhesive like this. (I recommend using Sticky Strip.) Roll the container into a tube, then pinch one end closed. Add candy (or whatever you want to put inside), then pinch the other end closed in the opposite direction. Attach the tag using a stapler, then adhere the button using a Glue Dot to hide the staple. Twelve containers will fit nicely inside the Extra-Large Gift Box. To make the box look a little more festive, I wrapped Season of Style Designer Washi Tape around it. Do you have a special way you’ll be counting down the days to Christmas? Donna G. Demonstrator Training
I can't tell you how many shots I took of this card and truthfully this picture is the best but not good. I used our Brushed Gold cardstock and using our Silver Embossing powder, heat embossed our Christmas Star single stamp onto it. The Brushed cardstocks emboss beautifully. I then used Merry Christmas from More Merry Messages, again heat embossing it. I layered the gold onto a piece of Brushed Silver and then attached it to a Whisper White card.
More embossing with another sentiment from More Merry Message.
Another picture of the card, one thing I will say, good thing the receiver gets the real card1
Yes, I do love that Stripes Impressions folder, it turns ho hum background into a background that adds dimension to your card. I heat embossed the sentiment using our Silver Embossing powder and added a couple of Silver foil stars punched out of our Foil Sheets. These sheets are not flimsy but they still punch beautifully. The little star punch is from Merry Minis Punch Pack (it is not in the catalogue but is available) I layered the sentiment onto Island Indigo leaving a 1/8" border and then added a little fancy scalloped edge also cut from our Silver Foil using the Adorning Accents Edgelits with my Magnetic Platform to hold the die straight. Simple, quick and easy, perfect for making several.
Sometimes when you make a card, what's in your head and what turns out are different! This is one of those cards, I've used this layout before and liked it but this time, something just wasn't right. My thoughts, the Basic Black mat on the Santa, just not right.
Yep, that was the problem! For this card I used three different stamp sets, Colour me Christmas, Best of Snow (snowflake) and More Merry Message for the sentiment. Add some 5/8" Organza ribbon and Brights Candy Dots and another easy card.
I don't know about you, but that is something when I read, the song starts playing in my head!
This stamp set is three pieces with the words being one stamp, and then the flourish and line being seperate stamps. But, if you get the Clear Mount set, you can mount them all on our large I block and stamp it all at once. I inked up the entire thing with Crumb Cake ink and then used my Real Red Marker to colour in the flourish and line, one stamp and you are done. The DSP is from Season of Style Paper stack. This little paper stacks are a great value, you get 48 sheets for $6.95, 24 each of 2 double sided designs. This stamp set you can buy by itself or as a bundle with a Simply Created card kit and save 15%. And let's leave you with a song that will be stuck in your head all day--- Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas!
Card Kit 132158 $9.95 includes all the elements to make 8 cards
Is the Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set for this year. Every time this stamp set is sold, $3.00 is donated to the charity. Six great stamps in this set
And one of the best things with this set, it coordinates with our Chalk Talk Framelits, perfect cuts with just a couple of rotations of the handle on your Big Shot. Today's Christmas card
Another super quick card, stamping the image with Real Red ink and cutting out with the matching framelit. The dotted DSP is from Polka Dot Parade DSP pack,it has a few sheets that are perfect for Christmas, Real Red, Old Olive and Marina Mist sheets. The little clip is from the clearance rack but I thought perfect for this card but a button or a clip would be great too. Simple and quick, but handmade, now that's what we want.

This card is another super easy one, perfect for making a lot of them. I used Naturals Ivory for the base 8 1/2 x 11, scored at 4 1/4.Next a Natural Ivory layer, 4 x 5 1/2 stamping the sentiment on it and then used our Squares framelits to cut out a place for the image to peek through. Santa is stamped onto Very Vanilla using Early Expresso and simply attached to the the Naturals Ivory layer. Quick and easy, but with a vintage wow.
This card I cased from the fabulous, Ronda Wade changing the colour and not using any ribbon, this card is quick and easy and simply beautiful. So easy to dress it up if you want by adding glitter, ribbon or rhinestones.
The stamp is one of our special holiday singles,Wonderful Blessing. It is only sold as a clear mount stamp and it stamps so beautifully and it is a great size, a whopping 3" in diameter. I stamped it in Midnight Muse onto Whisper White and cut it out with our Circle framelits. Again I used the Stylish Stripes embossing folder to dress up the plain layer. This card is definitely quick and easy, perfect for production making.
